We are now recruiting for a Community Mass Participation Lead, which is a pivotal role, forming part of the main public-facing profile of Charity for Civil Servants. Community has an interesting twist for us as an occupational charity, meaning that the majority of our ‘Community’ are reached within their workplace.

The Community Mass Participation Lead will be a driving force behind community fundraising. You will help us engage, coach, and encourage our supporters, adding value to their relationship with the Charity for Civil Servants.

You will be responsible for successful end-to-end product design and delivery, including our flagship digital participation events, Mega Miles Challenge and Festive Jumper Day. You will also identify and implement strategic, data and insight-led improvements, new product opportunities, and innovation for growth.

To be successful in this role, you'll be an expert in relationship building and passionate about engaging and mobilising communities and audiences. You will also have demonstrable experience leading and co-ordinating the delivery of community fundraising activity, and product development processes.

Key Responsibilities:

To support the delivery of Dyscover’s Fundraising strategy by taking responsibility for Community Fundraising.

Main Areas of Work:

Funding – support and delivery of the Funding Strategy in conjunction with the Head of Fundraising and the Trustees • Understand and work within the Code of Fundraising Practice

• Plan, coordinate and deliver a community fundraising programme to meet agreed targets • Coordinate and develop the community fundraising team

• Be proactive in identifying community fundraising opportunities including liaising with local clubs, businesses and societies

• Communicate fundraising activities via email, monthly bulletins, Newsletters etc.

• Provide and distribute promotional materials for events • Recruit volunteers to support events

Volunteer Coordinator Main Areas of Work:

• Research, write and regularly review volunteer policies and procedures, including risk assessments, relating to all aspects of volunteering

• Liaise with Dyscover staff colleagues responsible for admin, marketing, fundraising and service delivery to understand how they work, develop partnerships and assess volunteering needs across the organisation

• Identify appropriate volunteering opportunities and match with volunteers who possess the right skills for the role

• Identify additional training or support needs that volunteers might have and seek to meet them. Provide inductions and training both internal and external (with Service team)

• Lead monthly volunteer meetings in collaboration with colleagues.

• Develop role descriptions based on the needs of the organisation

Who we are

Rainforest Trust UK (RTUK) is set up as a separate charity to tax-efficiently raise funds from donors here in the UK for Rainforest Trust’s conservation projects. We are currently a team of seven people, but we are affiliated to, and supported by, the Rainforest Trust team in the U.S., which has a team of about 40 staff. In 2023 the global charity raised $46 million for conservation projects in Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America, with the UK charity contributing £2.2 million of this.

We currently work remotely, meeting up 2 days per month in London to work alongside each other in a shared office, or to run events for our supporters. 

Key Responsibilities (see attached job description for full list)
- Deal promptly with donations received on a daily basis, following our processes to ensure supporters are appropriately thanked.
- Respond to day-to-day enquiries from Rainforest Trust UK supporters via phone, email and post.
- Support the Fundraising Manager in sending communications to the donor base, utilising content from Rainforest Trust Global, checking for accuracy and ensuring all communications adhere to Rainforest Trust’s brand guidelines.
- Lead on the daily management of Rainforest Trust UK’s social media channels, including scheduling posts and responding to comments/messages.
- Be the main point of contact for fundraisers, schools and other community groups raising funds for Rainforest Trust UK.

Working Arrangements and Travel Requirements - You will be predominantly home-based (so you will need an excellent internet connection) and expected to commute to London two days per month to work in-person, alongside the team.

Job Summery:

The Research Assistant’s role is to support the whole research team with administrative tasks to deliver their mission more efficiently. This role does not require scientific qualifications.

You will assist with organising meetings, including our Scientific Advisory Board meetings, and associated travel, writing letters and maintaining accurate records. You will be working across the whole research team providing administrative support as required, balancing priorities and liaising with other teams within the charity. 

��Location: While contracted to our office in Fleet, Hampshire, our team supports a blend of office and home working provided you have adequate broadband and IT capability, with an average of 2-3 days in the office each week.

⏰Working hours: This role is 30 hours per week, with some out of hours working.

Who we're looking for:

With an enthusiasm and passion for the work of The Brain Tumour Charity you will have experience of working in administrative capacity. You will be highly organised, with excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal), a keen eye for details and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. 

Key accountabilities:

•  Support the organisation of external research meetings such as Scientific Advisory Board meetings and meetings with researchers, including arranging travel, accommodation and meeting space.
• Organise internal research team meetings, including taking minutes and circulating agendas.
• Assist research grants team through preparation of outcome letters and communication with researchers.
• Assist in maintenance of accurate records for the research team, including document migration and data quality control.
• Manage shared research accounts and subscriptions.

We are seeking a proactive, energetic and enthusiastic Corporate Partnerships Officer to be an integral part of a team which aims to both maximise corporate income and deliver an excellent partner experience. Our expert team of canine behaviourists provide behavioural support and advice to teams within Battersea, members of the public, and the rescue organisations we work with around the world. The team design and help implement behaviour modification and training plans for dogs whilst coaching members of the canine care groups through the practical day-to-day steps. They also assist with behavioural and welfare assessments of animals who come into our centres and are on hand to help manage and provide further support with dogs with more complex behavioural needs. The team provide support to dogs during their stay at Battersea, and are also available for continued advice after rehoming.

We are now looking to recruit a Canine Behaviour and Training Advisor for our team in Old Windsor. Within this role, you will work with our operational teams in the assessment and welfare of the dogs in our care and in the provision of behavioural training and advice for staff, volunteers, customers and external organisations. You will be working as part of a care group to create behaviour modification plans, support with handling difficult dogs and make recommendations, along with the individual care group, for individual dog outcomes.
