The Role

The Finance & Operations Coordinator is a central position in a small, purpose-driven team. The role provides direct support to the Managing Director and works closely with the Finance Committee to ensure that the charity’s financial and operational systems are well managed, compliant and effective.

This is a broad and hands-on role that involves managing day-to-day UK operations, supporting financial oversight, ensuring smooth coordination with our in-country partners, and keeping our administrative framework in excellent order.

You will be responsible for maintaining clear systems, meeting key reporting deadlines, and ensuring that the organisation runs efficiently behind the scenes. The role suits someone who is proactive, reliable, and comfortable managing a wide variety of tasks with independence and initiative.

Key Responsibilities

Finance and Reporting

• Maintain accurate financial records in Xero, reconciling transactions and processing payments for invoices, payroll and expenses.

• Allocate receipts and donations to the correct funds and ensure supporting documentation is filed systematically.

• Prepare and submit Gift Aid claims to HMRC.

• Collate quarterly financial and narrative reports from Moroccan partner NGOs and follow up on missing information.

• Support the Managing Director and Finance Committee with budget preparation, analysis and audit documentation.

• Ensure that annual accounts and financial reports are submitted in line with Charity Commission requirements.

Operations and Administration

• Oversee and improve shared filing systems (Teams/SharePoint), ensuring that all administrative and financial records are accurate, up to date and easy to access.

• Manage the main email inbox, responding to or redirecting correspondence promptly and professionally.

• Coordinate logistics for meetings, events, and annual project visits in Morocco.

• Support the Managing Director with scheduling, documentation, and general administrative follow-up.

• Monitor compliance tasks, ensuring that all Charity Commission and internal governance requirements are up to date and properly documented.

Donor and Partner Relations

• Act as a first point of contact for donors, supporter schools, hotels and individuals.

• Process and acknowledge donations, issue receipts and maintain accurate donor records.

• Proactively follow up with existing and potential supporters, helping to build and maintain relationships.

• Liaise with Moroccan partners to ensure that project and financial reporting are on track and shared on time.

Governance and Oversight

• Support the Finance Committee and Managing Director with preparation for trustee and committee meetings, including gathering reports and ensuring actions are followed up.

• Assist with external audits and reviews, coordinating with UK auditors and Moroccan partners as needed.

• Maintain oversight of risk management, safeguarding and health and safety documentation, ensuring relevant information is filed and accessible.

About the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre

The London LGBTQ+ Community Centre is an award-winning charity launched by a team of volunteers in 2017. In December 2021 we opened our first physical space in London’s Bankside.

Our mission is to provide London with a sober, intersectional, intergenerational, community centre and café where all LGBTQ+ people feel welcome and supported, can build connections, and flourish. Our vision is for a more connected, belonging and thriving LGBTQ+ community in London.

In 2024, the Centre was visited by over 13,500 people, we hosted 700 events joined by 9,500 participants. 

In 2027 we will expand to Chroma in partnership with The Trampery, broadening our impact and reach. 

Overall purpose of the role

To work alongside the CEO to meet our fundraising goals by:

• Focusing on growing corporate donor base
• Assisting with grant writing if/when needed

As the year evolves, the role’s focus might shift. We are gearing towards opening a second location at Chroma in Bankside Yards in early 2027, so this role will be key in guaranteeing we grow as planned.

Our biggest fundraising moments of the year are Pride, Christmas, an annual fundraising event (normally hosted in November) and LGBT+ History Month. We are looking into capitalising on these key calendar moments, while developing long-lasting relationships that support the Charity throughout the year.

• Support with the development of our fundraising strategy for the next three to five years
• Expand our pool of corporate donors. We strive to work with companies and organisations that share our ethos and are truly committed to our community

Royal Trinity Hospice (Trinity) is the UK’s oldest hospice and serves a community of 950,000 in central and southwest London. Trinity delivers specialist end-of-life and palliative care at the Hospice and in the community as well as support and counselling services for family and friends. The Compton team deliver transformative funding results allowing the hospice to deliver outstanding care to patients and their families. Trinity is a key client for Compton, and we have a long record of success in generating income and sustainable growth across all income streams for the Hospice.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Currently corporate income at Trinity averages £150-200k per annum and incorporates a small local business supporters programme, corporate sponsorship of hospice events or services and several larger corporate partnerships. The Corporate Partnerships Manager is a newly created role and they will work to increase income from corporate and business partners over the next 3 years. They will develop a strategy for growing this important area of fundraising and execute it. 

The successful candidate will build on what has been achieved to date to enhance our corporate offering, which will include engaging more businesses through the Local Business Heroes programme, working in partnership with other departments of the hospice to facilitate corporate volunteering and visits. They will work collaboratively with the Events Coordinator and Head of Philanthropy and Events to secure sponsorship for key events such as the RTH Gala Dinner, Dinner and Quiz, Opera at the Hospice, Light up A Life and others underpinning their financial success. In addition, we will look to the new Manager to enhance and develop our current offering. The Corporate Partnerships Manager will be supported by a small team of Fundraising Executives as required and report to the Head of Fundraising.

The successful candidate will:

·Lead on developing and implementing an ambitious corporate fundraising strategy for our client to increase income to  £300k+ over the next three years.

·Manage and grow our existing corporate partnerships, retaining relationships where possible and increasing income.

About the Role 

The Director of Operations is a member of GiveOut’s leadership team, partnering closely with the Executive Director, they will lead on all operational matters, ensuring GiveOut is an efficient, compliant, and resilient institution capable of delivering lasting impact.

The Director of Operations oversees the charity’s financial and administrative systems, human resources, compliance and risk management, and internal communications. They will support the Executive Director in strategic planning, budget management, governance, stakeholder reporting, and cross-organisational projects, deputising for the Executive Director when required.

Key Responsibilities

Governance and Compliance

• Support the Executive Director in servicing the Board of Trustees; preparing papers, coordinating meetings, and onboarding new trustees.

• Ensure organisational compliance with statutory, legal, and data protection requirements.

• Lead on risk management, maintaining robust policies, risk registers and assessments, and mitigation strategies.

• Coordinate the annual audit and reporting to the Charity Commission.

Strategy and Planning

About the Role

Working alongside the Managing Director, you will play a key role in supporting the day to day running of the BDD Foundation. You will help support the smooth operation of charity projects, media campaigns, and collaborations, while supporting the delivery of the charity’s community engagement and outreach activities.

A key focus of this role will be managing and maintaining the charity’s digital presence, including social media channels, newsletters, and website updates. • Fundraising Strategy and Pipeline Management: Contribute to the design of an ambitious global grant fundraising strategy and manage its implementation. You'll conduct market research, qualify new opportunities, and maintain a robust prospect pipeline to expand our existing funding base. This will involve the coordination and project management of outreach and engagement activities. 

• Proposal Development and Budgeting: Lead the creation of compelling, high-quality concept notes and multi-year funding proposals, aligned with funder priorities and including accurate, transparent budgets.
