Work Context:
The post holder will be highly motivated and organised to research, identify and build new and existing relationships with local businesses and community organisations in order to increase unrestricted income and engagement for the charity.

These factors are crucial to the charity’s survival and need careful attention. We’re looking for a proactive Community Engagement Officer with an eye for detail and a can-do attitude who is willing to learn, grow and take ownership of this newly created and unique role.
You’ll be a warm and friendly communicator, both verbally and in writing, and be excited about raising support and awareness for SSR’s work with those affected by scoliosis.
As the Community Engagement Officer, working with the Community Engagement Manager you will manage relationships with regular donors and support individuals to fundraise effectively for SSR as well as thanking fundraisers and donors.
You will work with the Community Engagement Manager to support our wider fundraising efforts by providing administrative support.
A significant part of your role will be to respond to Helpline enquiries, either by phone or email. You will be the first point of contact. Training will be given on this.
You will also handle liaising and looking after our members and processing new membership applications.
You’ll work closely with the Community Engagement Manager on any events. The yearly ‘Scoliosis Awareness Day’ event, along with the Zorab Symposium which takes place every three years and any patient meetings that take place.
You will need to be able to travel to the office at least one day a week. Days worked can be agreed to suit the successful candidate.
You will need database experience. We use E Tapestry, but Raisers Edge or other charity database experience is relevant.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Community and Events Fundraiser to join a national charity in order to engage with the community served by the charity to develop and implement plans for maximising income and support from individuals, groups and businesses. In order to be successful, you must have experienced :

- Previous experience of managing staff and/or volunteers.

We are seeking a Fundraising Coordinator (Individual Giving) to join our small but dynamic Fundraising team.

The Individual Giving Fundraiser will play a vital role in increasing income from our existing supporters. You will support donor acquisition as well as taking the lead on retention of our supporters across multiple channels including cash appeals, regular giving, lottery and in celebration giving. The role will also support the Head of Income in the delivery of a legacy and major donor program.
You will develop and deliver excellent stewardship programmes that drive retention by deepening audience understanding of the challenges that people affected by cleft face and the impact that their donations make. Your key responsibilities include:

- Manage the high-value donor and corporate marketing and stewardship programmes, supervising appeals, approaches, updates, and all related activities to ensure clear, concise and compelling proposals and reporting.
- Provide the Fundraising Relationships Officer with clear, collaborative, and supportive line management, that maximises staff performance and wellbeing.
- Research and pursue high-value donor fundraising work in assigned new target areas (both in the UK and overseas territories within their global fundraising programme, such as Australia) to expand the programme’s reach and impact.
- Manage the development and delivery of their fundraising events.
- Work with colleagues to ensure required PR and communications activities concerning major donors funding are developed and delivered.
Programme support and administration
- Take responsibility for the high-value donor and corporate fundraising budgets and contribute to target setting, monitoring, and analysis of the programme.
- Provide regular reports and information on progress, targets and income generated.
- Deputise for the Head of Philanthropy and Fundraising Partnerships when required.
