We are looking for new members to join our clinical team in Derbyshire South to support at local community events.

Volunteers will be required to undertake 2 days of face-to-face training for their role in addition to online learning modules. Meetings with the Network team take place on Monday and Thursday evenings, some available online.

We are looking to run a volunteering selection session on: Sunday 9th or Sunday 23rd November, Inductions will take place after the interviews. 

Face-to-face training for role will take place in Derby on 17th & 18th January 2026. You must be able to attend both days. Online learning can be done in your own time prior to the course.

We’re part of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, a national youth organisation empowering 12- to 20-year-olds through flying, adventure training, sports, and leadership development. 

West Mercian Wing supports over 900 cadets across 27 Squadrons in Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire, the Black Country, and overseas in Cyprus. 

Each squadron has a Civilian Welfare Committee, a team of trustees who support the squadron by overseeing governance, fundraising, and building community partnerships. Trustees are vital in ensuring squadrons can continue providing incredible opportunities for cadets.

Opportunities for progression 

Trustees can take on leadership roles within their squadron, support squadrons at sector or wing level, or even contribute to regional and national RAF Air Cadets governance. Some trustees also transition into squadron volunteer roles, working directly with cadets. 

To join us, you’ll need to 

• Be 20 years or older 

• Have lived in the UK for at least 3 years 

• Attend an evening meeting every three months (varies by squadron) 

• Bring enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to support young people. 

Typical joining process:

3. Complete a simple online application if invited.

Join us for a wonderful evening of music at Ralli Hall in Hove, where the Brighton & Hove Concert Orchestra will perform a programme of film and theatre favourites with their 50-piece orchestra.

Main tasks

The event held in the hospice gardens is to welcome the local community into Acorns.
There will be entertainment, stalls and activities 11am – 3pm. Food and refreshments are available. Volunteers are welcome to invite along their family & friends.

• Parking will be available nearby for volunteers
• All volunteers will receive hot drinks free of charge.

Volunteer Opportunity with the Cambridge Dining Club!

The Cambridge Dining Club, in aid of the NSPCC, is looking for dedicated volunteers to assist with administrative tasks. We host 5 lunch events on selected Mondays throughout term times at The Gonville Hotel in Cambridge. Your help with event logistics, communications, and other admin aspects is crucial to our success. While attending the lunch events is useful, it is not essential. If you have a passion for organization and want to support a great cause, we'd love to hear from you!
