The Role

• Deliver fun and engaging Outrunners sessions at our partner schools to young people aged 11-13, alongside PE teachers. 

• Manage relationships with partner teachers and SLT at our partner schools.

• Work with the Youth Programme Manager and other Youth Practitioners to design and deliver holistic movement programmes with a focus on running, targeted at 8-18 year olds. 

• Ensure safeguarding procedures are upheld for all young people. 

• Undertake administration tasks such as ensuring evaluation forms are completed, uploading data to our CRM system and planning sessions.

• Complete any other business required by management and pitch in to help with other tasks at busy times during the year.

• You have experience of working with young people and their families 

• You have experience delivering youth programmes targeted at young people with proven successful outputs

Lead Paractioner Role

Are you passionate about working with men and women involved in the Criminal Justice System?  Do you want to work in a residential setting that provides an opportunity to really get to know and make a difference to those released from prison and subject to supervision in the community

Progress to Change is a Leeds-based charity that operates two Independent Approved Premises (IAPs): Ripon House, a 22-bed facility for women, and Cardigan House, a 26-bed facility for men. These facilities serve individuals released from prison on licence, primarily those assessed as high risk, under the supervision of probation practitioners. The charity's mission is to assist and rehabilitate some of the most vulnerable members of society focusing on providing structured support and purposeful activities aimed at resettlement within the community. Progress to Change operates in close partnership with the Ministry of Justice and the Probation Service, and is a member of the National Approved Premises Association (NAPA).

The Lead Practitioner will play a key role in supporting the Approved Premises (AP) Managers in the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring high standards of care, safety, and rehabilitation opportunities for residents. This includes overseeing staff support, organising shift coverage, coordinating training, and maintaining strong relationships with external partners. The role requires a proactive approach to resident engagement, activity planning, and staff development while working a variety of shifts, including weekends and late shifts.

About the role 

Our celebrity ambassadors play an important role in the work we do. Through sharing their stories, campaigning, fundraising and support at events, they are helping us to increase understanding of what it is to be affected by Parkinson’s in the UK today.

You’ll play a key role making sure that we have strong relationships with our celebrity supporters, identifying and engaging them in the most relevant opportunities, across all areas of our work.

You’ll lead on their involvement in fundraising and media opportunities, but support across the board. Working with teams you’ll make sure our ambassadors are looked after and fully briefed for every event. 

What you’ll do:

• Lead on celebrity support for our portfolio of fundraising events across the UK, project managing each engagement from pitching and briefing, to overseeing and thanking

• Develop and nurture new and existing strategic relationships with high profile supporters through agents / publicists

• Work with the Celebrity Lead to develop stewardship plans

• Coordinate, manage and monitor requests for celebrity support from across the charity, delivering appropriate celebrity involvement and tracking its impact for reporting

• Research, due diligence, brief and pitch campaigns and events to high profile celebrities, their managers, publicists, key decision-makers, influential individuals and their wider networks to get buy in and support

What you’ll bring:

• Exceptional organisational and multitasking skills and the ability to prioritise and manage your workload to meet deadlines 

• Experience of managing relationships with high profile individuals and an understanding of press and social media is desirable

Purpose of the Job

The role is a key part of the HFEH Mind team delivering mental health services across Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing, and Hounslow.

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, supporting, and retaining volunteers across the charity. You will ensure that volunteers have a positive experience, receive appropriate training and guidance, and feel valued for the time and skills they give. You will also work closely with staff to match volunteers to roles.

We currently offer three types of volunteering roles at HFEH Mind:

• Client facing support– Working alongside staff supporting service users
• Events – Supporting outreach & fundraising efforts and promoting our work
• Central Support – Blogging, graphic design, administration, etc.

General/Key Responsibilities

• Interview, recruit, onboard, and induct new volunteers in line with organisational needs, maintaining around 50-60 volunteers across the charity.
• Work with staff to identify new volunteering opportunities and develop volunteer role descriptions.
• Work effectively to ensure volunteers feel a part of HFEH Mind and gain value from their time with us.
• Develop and maintain volunteer policies, role descriptions, and procedures.
• Ensure all volunteering activity adheres to safeguarding, GDPR and health and safety policies.
• Promote volunteering opportunities through social media, local networks, and community partnerships
• Develop and deliver engaging volunteer training, support sessions and recognition initiatives.
• Be the main point of contact to support volunteers, listen to suggestions and/or concerns and support in resolve any volunteering related issues or complaints.
• Provide advice and guidance to volunteers about their matched relationship (with support from the wider team) and highlight safeguarding concerns as appropriate.
• Ensure each volunteer is assigned a named supervisor and receives appropriate supervision (at least every 4–6 weeks depending on role)

Volunteering Experience

• Ensure volunteers are receiving regular supervision and support during their placement.
• Monitor volunteer satisfaction, provide ongoing recognition and celebrate volunteer contributions
• Regularly report on the volunteer experience, including both quantitative and qualitative feedback & exit interviews

Administrative

• Maintain an up-to-date volunteer database and contact list.
• Support Director of Adult Services to provide reflective practice sessions for service-facing volunteers. 
• Ensure volunteer training compliance is at required levels.

Other Responsibilities

• Join monthly volunteer meeting with Operational Directors, Head of Marketing & Communications and Head of HR.
• Ensure that  equity and inclusion are at the heart of our volunteering programme  and share in our commitment to equality of opportunity and to eliminating discrimination.
• Contribute to our fundraising effort by embracing opportunities to fundraise yourself, to promote fundraising and to support the fundraising team.
• Share our commitment to safeguarding adults and children at risk of harm, and ensure that volunteers are trained in and adhere to safe practice.
• Ensure that information is obtained, used and stored in accordance with our Data Protection and Confidentiality policy.
• Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the role.

Person specification

Essential

• Experience of working with or coordinating volunteers, ideally in a charity.
• An understanding of and commitment to improving the mental health of our communities, and ability to ensure that volunteers with lived experience of mental health problems are included and supported.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with people with from diverse communities with a range of life experiences, views and reasons for volunteering
• Ability to support, organise, and motivate people, and ensure that volunteers feel like they belong within the organisation
• Good IT and administration skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, databases)
• Commitment to equality, inclusion and the values of the charity sector.
• Understanding of safeguarding, GDPR and confidentiality.
• A proactive and flexible approach to problem solving
• Ability and willingness to travel to HFEH Mind sites.

Desirable

• Experience of working in the charity or community sector.

Apply to join the Carers´ Hub team as our Young Carers Support Worker. This rewarding role sits within the Young Carers Service and the successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking assessment with young carers and their families in order to identify their needs and develop a support plan.

You will work directly with young carers aged 5 and up to achieve positive outcomes, identifying and preventing inappropriate caring responsibilities through whole-family assessments and reviews and ensuring that young carers and their families have access to a range of emotional and practical support appropriate to their needs. You’ll also work closely with the Young Carers Team Leader to support the delivery of our young carers activities programme.

We are looking for someone who has a real passion about our mission and with proven ability in communicating sensitively with children, young people and their families.  You will have excellent organisational skills and be proficient in the use of IT.  You will need to be available for occasional evening and weekend work.

You will have experience working with vulnerable children and young people and will have a strong grasp of the realities of being a young carer in an inner city London borough.
