About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic team administrator to join our small, friendly and relaxed team at SCONUL, the professional association for academic and research libraries. The team currently works one to two days a week from our modern offices close to Euston station and the remainder of the week from home. 

You will be responsible for providing administrative support across all aspects of the organisation’s work, including diary management, the organisation of meetings and supporting the delivery of the SCONUL Access Scheme. It’s a role that provides scope for autonomy and to become involved in the full range of the organisation’s work and to develop a broad set of skills.

We are looking with someone with relevant office or administration experience who is well organised and with strong communication and IT skills. The role would suit someone who is self-motivated, flexible and happy to take the initiative.

This is a permanent post. Excellent benefits are offered that include 30-day holiday allowance, defined benefit pension scheme, support with learning and development and season ticket loan after probation.

Job description

Reporting to the Project Manager and working closely with the Project Manager and SCONUL Co-ordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Organising the schedule of meetings for the SCONUL Board and SCONUL working Groups.
• Managing the diary of the Executive Director.
• Supporting the delivery of the SCONUL Access Scheme including:
  • answering routine queries from Access Scheme users, applicants and university administrators
  • providing SCONUL Access contacts with timely and relevant information about the scheme
  • providing routine technical support to applicants and university contacts responsible for processing applications and refer potentially more complex or disruptive technical problems
  • drafting changes to website content to reflect the scheme’s current practice and procedures.
• Supporting the delivery of SCONUL events including:
  • drafting and following up invitations to speakers and other participants with support from the Project Manager
  • managing and processing events registrations
  • booking accommodation and travel arrangements when required
  • production of event documentation
  • helping to manage events on site, including briefing and managing colleagues, volunteers, and external suppliers, supporting, advising and directing event participants.
• Processing invoices and other office paperwork.
• Answering general queries from members and students phoned into the office.
• Uploading content onto the SCONUL website and helping keep the content up to date.

Skills and experience required

The ideal candidate will relish the opportunity of working as part of a small dynamic team and be an outgoing, flexible individual with a can-do attitude who enjoys engaging with members.

Essential:

• previous experience of office administration or equivalent.

• excellent written skills in relation to the production of letters and other documents.
• a high level of IT literacy

• demonstrable experience of managing a diverse workload; being able to prioritise work and working under pressure.

About the Role

As Advice Manager, you’ll take a strategic lead on developing our advice service to ensure it is accessible and high-quality, and also actively challenge the root causes of inequality. The Advice Manager will have wide ranging responsibilities for the performance, quality assurance and development of internal advice services and will be responsible for achieving and evidencing high quality positive outcomes for service users.

You will Manage our advice teams: Information Navigation, Benefits Advice, Money Advice and our benefits advice contract with South West London and St Georges. We also administer a number of grants on behalf of local grant giving charities and the local authority and you will manage the administration of these grant funds.

We currently have 14 advisors across our advice teams including 2 team leaders in our Information Navigation (general advice) and South West London and St Georges benefits advice team, it is currently 8 direct reports. 

As a key member of our management team you will work closely with other managers. You will also take a lead on Safeguarding and Data protection across the whole organisation and deputise for the CEO as required.

• Championing the voices of disabled people, feeding insight from frontline work into our policy and campaigning.
• Ensuring the service contributes to social justice, tackling systemic barriers and inequities through both individual casework and broader change.
• Representing the organisation externally including meeting and influencing local stakeholders including local councils, funders and advice organisations.

About you

You’re an experienced advice professional and a passionate advocate for social justice. We need someone with experience of working in an advice and representation role and with experience in managing a busy advice team. You understand the power of high-quality advice in changing lives — and the importance of using that insight to shift systems.

You will bring

• A strong track record in managing or coordinating advice services (e.g. welfare rights, housing, disability support).
• A strong understanding of the social model of disability and a commitment to its principles.

The Direct Marketing Manager has operational and strategic responsibility in developing and implementing the Islamic Relief UK direct marketing programme. About the Role

This is a role where you’ll really see the difference you make.

As Educational Partnerships Manager, you’ll work across Yorkshire, building partnerships with schools, colleges, youth organisations and community groups—particularly in areas where opportunities are hardest to come by.

You’ll be right in the mix: planning events, delivering programmes, supporting volunteers and connecting with school staff to make sure young people have access to our inspiring enterprise and financial education experiences.

You’ll be a key driver of our Inspiring Futures programme—helping young people break down barriers and imagine bigger futures.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and grow relationships with schools, colleges, youth clubs and local communities
• Focus on expanding our reach in areas of multiple deprivation and underrepresentation
• Deliver and support the rollout of YE programmes in schools and other settings
• Recruit, train and support volunteers—making sure they feel valued and inspired
• Work with your regional team to meet shared goals and celebrate local impact
• Help secure local funding by supporting fundraising efforts and managing project deliverables
• Support the planning of events, trade fairs and celebrations for young people
• Keep accurate records, track impact, and make sure safeguarding is front and centre

A few practical things:

• This is a hands-on role—you’ll sometimes be lifting resources, setting up venues and travelling regularly (a car and full driving licence are essential)
• You’ll need to be happy occasionally working evenings or weekends during peak delivery times
• Expect to be on your feet during some events or sessions—it’s all part of the fun!

The Role:

As our Grants Manager, you will be a key leader in our grant-making process. You will also play a key role in informing the Grants Committee's decisions and leading the expansion of our programmes. You will be responsible for:

• Developing and implementing our grants strategy, identifying new funding opportunities and leading the expansion of our grants programme to increase our reach and impact.

• Administering the online grant application portal, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
• Conducting initial screening and eligibility checks of incoming grant applications.
• Preparing and issuing grant agreements and coordinating payment schedules with the Finance Manager.
• Monitoring the progress and impact of funded projects by reviewing grantee reports and maintaining accurate records.
• Serving as a primary point of contact, providing clear guidance on application processes to prospective and existing grant applicants.

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) in a grants management or similar senior role within a charity, foundation, or similar organisation.
• A strong track record of developing and implementing successful grants strategies.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to a variety of audiences, including the Grants Committee and Trustees.
• Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with a strong eye for detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and experience with a CRM or grants management system.
• A proactive and professional approach, with a genuine passion for youth development and the Air Cadet Charity's mission.
• Familiarity with the Air Cadet organisation or other uniformed youth groups is an advantage.

We are seeking a Racial Justice Co-ordinator to lead and support the delivery of the racial justice strategy at the Diocese.

Position: Racial Justice Coordinator

Salary: £36,050 pa for full time or £28,840 for 30 hours per week

About the Role

We are looking for a lay or ordained co-ordinator to be a passionate advocate for racial justice.  Candidates will have a good understanding of the complexities and barriers for UKME/GMH people within the diocese and the ability to reflect on these from a theological perspective.

This is a key role in the life of the Diocese, and you will act as advocate for racial justice, develop and deliver training in parishes and church schools and recruit and equip deanery Racial Justice Advocates.  You will work collaboratively with the Racial Justice Officer, the Racial Justice Committee and diocesan leadership team to support the Diocese to hold its racial justice vision and help to inspire, challenge, and empower churches and schools to collectively achieve this vision.

The principal duties include:

• Raising awareness of all aspects of racial justice work in the Diocese and supporting the Diocese to hold its racial justice vision
• Planning, facilitating and oversight of racial justice training and events for clergy, lay leaders and schools
• Recruiting, training, and equipping deanery Racial Justice Advocates and providing ongoing support
• Supporting UKME/GMH vocations to lay and ordained ministry
• Monitoring and collecting data on the progress, impact, and outcomes of racial justice projects

The role is made possible because of funding from the National Church of England and will be appointed on a 3-year fixed term contract.

About You

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a good understanding of the framework for racial justice and the ability to reflect on the issues from a theological perspective
• Be passionate about the place of UKME/GMH people in God’s mission with the ability to inspire, encourage and support others to advocate for racial justice
• Have experience in project planning and strong organisational skills
• Be able to plan and deliver training and build, develop and support networks
