Our 68-year-old charity is one of the most exciting and flexible employers in the charity sector. During the summer, we launched a membership magazine (PTA Extra), and a popular programme of parent webinar covering such topics as: ‘Supporting your child’s mental health’, ‘Helping your child succeed in KS2 English’, ‘Neurodiversity in Children Matters’.In the autumn began building a fundraising team to support PTAs by fundraising at the national level.In December we launched the highly successful ‘National Parent Survey’ to explore the challenges and concerns parents face. This year we relaunch a national publication for parents new to school, called ‘Be School Ready’, and our new ‘PTA Launchpad’ programme.

Main purpose and scope of Role

This role will play key to engaging with and supporting PTAs across the region, as well as a variety of stakeholders such as schools, parent groups, local authorities, potential sponsors or supporters and other organisations as our suite of programmes grows. This role initially focuses on the following, but is subject to change as programmes are launched or evolved:

PTA Programme

• Growing our network of PTAs.
• Supporting PTAs through leadership transition to minimise PTAs closing unnecessarily.
• Organising gatherings of PTAs to enhance the PTA community.
• Providing training and awareness sessions for PTAs.
• Providing community support to PTAs during peak activity periods online or by phone.
• Helping schools establish PTAs and supporting them during their first year through our new PTA Launchpad programme.
• Hosting and co-ordinating virtual webinars/meetings to demonstrate the value of PTA membership and the support available. 

Parent Programme

• Raising awareness of Parentkind’s growing programme of support for parents, directly or indirectly through schools or other partners.
• Building relationships with parent groups to support engagement with our growing suite of parent support opportunities.
• Organising events for parents as part of our Parent Programme.
• Building relationships with regional stakeholders to support Parent Programme activities.

Other Programmes/Services

• Encouraging uptake or (when charged) sales of our broad and growing suite of programmes and services.
• Identifying and engaging with local and regional partners for our range of programmes.
• Feeding into programme design.

Wider Stakeholder Engagement:

• Attending appropriate conferences and educational meetings across the region. 
• Developing relationships with key local authorities and individuals so they advocate our services and the benefits of our programmes
• Developing relationships with MATs so that they can advocate Parentkind and the benefits of its programmes.
• Identify any opportunities for external funding to from LA’s, Companies, or other funders with the support of our fundraising team.

Organisational Effectiveness: 

• Create and implement operational annual plans and schedules to support our regional targets, ensuring that time specific milestones for their delivery are met.
• Regularly report on the health of our campaigns within your region, through identified KPIs and organisational targets.
• Ensure all knowledge and information is recorded, processed and maintained according to good administration practice.

General

• To keep abreast of relevant educational policy and legislation affecting our key audiences.
• To be flexible within the broad remit of the post.

Job description

This is an exciting time to join a highly successful and friendly fundraising team at Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF) as out National Events Fundraiser. Our ideal candidate is passionate, proactive and organised and will enjoy supporting hundreds of Team MRF runners who are fundraising to defeat meningitis.

Events Fundraiser

Salary: £23,000-£28,000 (depending on experience)

Location: Bristol, hybrid or remote working with monthly meetings in Bristol 

MRF National Events Programme

The MRF National Events Fundraiser is responsible for a significant proportion of our events income with hundreds of runners each year taking on the challenge of participating in iconic races such as TCS London Marathon and A J Bell Great North Run.

Many of our race participants join Team MRF for deeply personal reasons, having had first-hand experience of the disease. Without Team MRF runners we would not be where we are in the race to defeat Meningitis, they are fundamental to our work and have been so since our early days as a charity.

The National Events Fundraiser is an enjoyable role at MRF within a very successful fundraising team, which last year raised over £500,000 by supporting hundreds of runners on Team MRF.

Role Summary

This role is all about working with people, encouraging them as part of Team MRF and supporting them to reach their fundraising goals. You will need to be enthusiastic, outgoing and thrive in motivating people to take action through their fundraising.

You will need to be an advocate for MRF’s work to defeat meningitis, enabling people to achieve their goals and achieving the best for the Charity. It is through the determination of everyone involved with the national events programme that we are able to deliver a number of our goals as a charity. You will harness that passion to help each runner succeed and understand what a difference they make along the way.

With many different elements to the role from planning, marketing, stewardship and event delivery you will need to be flexible and adaptable. This isn’t a fully desk-based job, as at different points of the year you will get the chance to meet Team MRF runners face to face by attending the events themselves and delivering celebratory post-race receptions.

With large teams of runners across a rolling annual events programme you must feel comfortable in managing deadlines, overlapping plans and keeping on top of supporter communications. Whilst we have systems in place to support this, our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys taking responsibility for their own workload.

Fundraising Events and Challenges Lead

Purpose of job:

The Fundraising Event and Challenges Lead is responsible for overseeing the fundraising events portfolio, developing and driving the strategy, and leading the delivery of a wide-ranging events and challenges portfolio to deliver ambitious organisational objectives and fundraising growth targets. This includes high-profile celebrity sporting and non-sporting challenge events alongside special events and mass-engagement events.

Key responsibilities:

· Leads the strategy setting and annual planning and budget setting for Comic Relief’s events, including building financial models, developing business cases and strategic plans.

· Lead the operational planning and implementation of fundraising events from ideation, through development and delivery, ensuring an agile approach to changing circumstances and to manage risk and maximise income opportunities.

· Manage and coach the events co-ordinator to support and deliver operational and fundraising activity across the portfolio to deliver against agreed plans and objectives.

· As appropriate, lead or work as part of cross-organisational matrix project teams to deliver all event fundraising elements including developing coherent narrative, fundraising marketing activity, supporter journeys and income/performance tracking and management.

· Lead and manage project teams of internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to ensure all aspects of fundraising events are delivered effectively and successfully to deliver income targets.

· Procure and manage the day-to-day relationship with external delivery partners to ensure safe and successful development and delivery of events; this could include events logistic delivery partners, integration of external media broadcast outlets or television production companies.

· Working with the FR Events co-ordinator, supporting all operational elements of events including event plans, logistics, risk assessments, live content requirements, content delivery, health & safety, risk management and crisis management plans. 

· Actively manage the fundraising event budgets, ensuring spend is monitored, reported, and reforecast, with cost saving opportunities leveraged to maximise net income.

· Operate as a champion of fundraising events within the wider organisation proactively identifying, sourcing and helping to embed new ways of working, tools and approaches that drive and optimise income from fundraising events across an array of target audiences.

· Foster a culture of high performance and build organisational event fundraising expertise. Work across the organisation to ensure each challenge/event is audience focused and all opportunities to maximise income are explored through a test, learn and iterate approach where data, learning and insight is used to make informed decisions and actioned swiftly. At The Compassionate Friends (TCF) we are passionate about providing peer support to grieving parents and their families whose son or daughter has died at any age (from one month old to an adult) and from any cause. We offer this support through our network of over 300 dedicated volunteers who are themselves bereaved parents or siblings. We are now seeking an Events & Community Fundraiser to join our small, but dedicated and hardworking, staff team to help us to develop our funding to continue our vital work. In this exciting and diverse role, you will be leading on the recruitment and stewardship of individual fundraisers and fundraising groups undertaking challenge events, digital fundraising and other community fundraising initiatives.

o   Taking ownership of community and events fundraising at The Compassionate Friends, including preparing an annual plan, and incorporating digital fundraising alongside traditional methods.

We are looking for a Community Fundraiser with a proven track record of achieving ambitious community fundraising targets. You will be an excellent communicator and an energetic self-starter. The role is primarily community based in the South of England with a focus on London and the South-East. There will be a requirement to travel around a strategically chosen geographical area and occasional overnight stays, as well as working evenings and weekends at events when required. Senior Community and Events Fundraiser, an excellent opportunity to join a long-standing regional Hospice, with Head Office based in Surrey area.

• This role can be either Full-Time (37.5 hours a week) or Part-Time (30 hours a week).
• Hybrid working pattern, with a min of 3 days office based for Full-Time hours.
• Salary; Full-Time - £35,000 per annum. Part-Time - £28,000 per annum.

As the Senior Community and Events Fundraiser, you will work with the Community and Events Lead, and be responsible for ensuring the delivery of the community and events fundraising plans and activities. You will managing a varied portfolio of events, including third party, challenges and bespoke. Along with engaging with the community to develop and implement plans for maximising income and support from individuals, groups and businesses.

Key Responsibilities for ensuring the delivery of community and events fundraising plans and activities:

• Manage, achieve and where possible exceed Community and Events income targets, taking a lead for specific projects, activities and events.
• Support the Community and Events Lead, contributing to the development of annual plans and budgets.
• Project manage challenge events (e.g. London Marathon, bike rides, skydives etc.), liaise with third-party organisers, participant recruitment and participant support.
• Work with other teams across Fundraising and MarComms to market and promote fundraising products, activities and events.
• Organise events, including liaison with venues, suppliers, monitoring expenditure, volunteers and participants and ensure all preparation is complete.
• Ensure an excellent level of supporter care and stewardship with supporters is maintained and developed.
• Provide regular reports and information about activities, supporters and volunteers.
• Line management of a Community and Events Fundraising Assistant.

To be successful in this Senior Community and Events Fundraiser role, you will have gained skills and experiences in the following areas;

• Previous experience working in fundraising in either a community, challenge or mass participant event capacity.
• Experience of establishing and maintaining strong relationships with individual fundraisers/supporters and/or, managing fundraising events.
• Experience of working to budgets, targets and plans.
• Previous experience of managing staff and/or volunteers.
• Knowledge of fundraising regulations.

Weston Hospicecare is looking for a motivated Community Fundraiser to join our friendly team and help deliver our expanding Community Fundraising programme.

As Community Fundraiser, you will encourage and support fundraising activity in the local community which is carried out by volunteers, individuals, organisations, and associations.

Your fantastic organisation skills will be used to deliver fun and engaging fundraising events and alongside, you will build relationships and encourage people to fundraise and take part in events for Weston Hospicecare, to both raise awareness of the incredible work of the Hospice and raise vital funds. 

Previous fundraising experience is not essential. You will be fully supported to develop your skills within an experienced Community Fundraising team and will have the opportunity to make a big impact on our programmes.

You will use your excellent communication skills to inspire people from all walks of life as you forge new relationships and develop existing ones.

Weston Hospicecare provides care to patients and families across North Somerset including Weston-super-Mare, Burnham on Sea, Clevedon and surrounding areas. You will be confident to travel across all three areas with an initial focus on activity in Clevedon and Weston-super-Mare and be happy to work in different locations as required.
