Our client offers a range of quality, exciting and inclusive short break clubs and activities across Surrey and West Sussex for children and young people aged 5-17 with a disability and additional needs. They are now looking to recruit 2 Senior Children's Disability Coordinators (one for Reigate/one for Epsom), to oversee the delivery of high quality, stimulating, safe services for a range of children and young people.

As Senior Disability Coordinator you will plan and deliver a structured programme of enjoyable, recreational, high-quality activities to meet the needs of children and young people with additional needs and disabilities who attend Short Breaks clubs. You will coordinate and take responsibility for the planning, allocation of places, and sufficient staffing to ensure safe delivery of Short Breaks clubs, and will assist in the recruitment, training and ongoing development of the Disability staff team. You will h ave responsibility for processing new referrals, initial assessments, individual care plans and any associated risk assessments or specialist plans to ensure individual needs are met.

This exciting and rewarding role will require a passion for working with SEND as well as excellent coordination skills to manage the delivery of high quality, stimulating, safe services. The Newham Domestic and Sexual Violence Support Service is a community-based initiative offering integrated support to individuals who have experienced domestic abuse, sexual violence, forced marriage, honour-based violence, female genital mutilation, or violence related to sex work. Delivered in partnership with local agencies, the service uses approaches such as casework, Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocacy (IDSVA), and Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) to provide holistic, person-centred care. Its aim is to not only assist survivors directly but also to raise awareness within the community about domestic and sexual violence and the support available.

The role involves delivering tailored support through safety planning, risk and needs assessments, and one-to-one sessions, empowering survivors to make informed decisions and develop independent living skills. It requires working closely with multiple agencies to meet needs effectively, building strong relationships with community and statutory organisations, and contributing to good practice and policy development. Service user involvement is promoted through events, networking, fundraising, and consultations, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to safeguarding policies at all times.

They will be responsible for managing a diverse sport for development portfolio, providing high level programme support, financial oversight, monitoring and evaluation technical expertise and capacity building support to our global implementing partners. This role will involve working closely with the Senior Programmes and Grants Managers, aiming always to ensure Sport for Good makes progress towards its Vision. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• To develop and manage a caseload of grants, including institutional and internal grants. This includes assessing competencies of organisations and developing organisational plans with grantees
• To support the ongoing development of grantees through capacity building, and providing networking opportunities
• To support the Sport for Good Development Team in their applications to institutional funders, trusts and foundations, providing input and advice as requested
• To ensure grant-management requirements for Sport for Good and external funding are met successfully
• To work closely with grantees responsibly to source narratives of individual and community transformation to support development of donor relationships and communication

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience from working in a charity or foundation with focus on international development

• Good project management skills, with experience delivering or grant-managing projects internationally; able to work on multiple tasks and to prioritise these to meet deadlines

• Basic budgeting and financial management experience, able to understand the link between finance and operations

They will be confident working independently and as part of a team, including supporting volunteers and peers, and will have strong communication skills for building partnerships with statutory and community services. The role requires experience in delivering group activities or events, managing risk, handling casework, and promoting the service externally. Strong organisational, IT, and written communication skills are essential, along with knowledge of local mental health services and recovery tools.

The Service Manager will be responsible for the operations of one service in Berkshire (Slough) which supports one individual to live in his own home.

The individual is a sociable and engaging man with a warm sense of humour and a deep appreciation for nature, music, and familiar company. He lives with a diagnosis of moderate learning disability, autism spectrum disorder, psychotic illness, epilepsy, and type 2 diabetes, all of which require thoughtful and consistent support. The customer has been living successfully in his current placement for over ten years, where he benefits from the continuity of staff who know him well, understand his routines, and help him maintain a sense of safety and autonomy.

The role will provide line management for a team of seven Specialist Behaviour Support Workers, ensuring that compliance with organisational, legal regulations and those of the local authority are adhered to and the quality of support is of the highest standard possible, ensuring excellent quality of life for the customer and a good working environment for colleagues.

The service has received a CQC rating of Good. The current team size includes 5 FTEs (Specialist Behaviour Support Workers) plus 2 FTEs Waking Night Support Workers, ensuring comprehensive support coverage across all shifts.

The working pattern for this role is primarily Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with occasional requirements for weekend and out-of-hours work to meet service needs.

The anticipated start date for this role is October.

The initial contract duration is 6 months, with potential to become a permanent role after this period.
