The Research Team is pivotal to ensuring that research funded by Children with Cancer UK is at the
forefront of the children and young person’s cancer research area. You will have the opportunity to be at
the cutting edge of cancer research in children and young people and work closely with members of the

Westway Trust is seeking an enthusiastic part time Gardener who will take immense pride in the maintenance and development of the grounds and gardens across the Trust's 23 acres of land. You will be an effective, efficient and safety conscious gardener who ultimately will ensure the Trust's grounds and gardens and green spaces are always kept healthy and beautiful. This role will be critical to ensuring management of a vibrant, diverse and thriving estate.
Key responsibilities of the role include but not limited to:
- Gardening duties will include: Planting, monitoring the health of all plants and green spaces, watering and feeding plants, pruning trees and shrubs, fertilising and mowing lawns, weeding, dealing with pests and diseases, and keeping green spaces and walkways clean and clear of debris and litter / waste.
- Working as part of the Grounds and Gardens team to maintain and improve soft and hard landscaping on Trust land as directed.
- Assisting in keeping Westway Trust’s land clean and tidy and reporting any damage.
- Co-operating with the Facilities Team, Events Team and other Westway Staff to deliver support to events as part of the wider organisation.
- Welcoming volunteers and community groups onto the estate to learn from the Grounds and Gardens team.
- Ensuring all relevant Health and Safety standards are adhered to with regards to personal safety, and the safety of members of the public using the gardens.
- Being responsible for the proper use, maintenance and safe storage of all plant, machinery, tools and equipment such as leaf blowers, strimmers, hedgecutters, graffiti removal equipment and mowers.
- Undertake planned and unplanned garden maintenance work on Trust grounds as directed.

The Support Coach role involves:
- Supporting volunteer facilitators by coaching them through the opportunities, challenges and obstacles of running a Kids Matter programme
- Training and upskilling facilitators by helping run events and develop new resources
- Working with the wider Kids Matter team to encourage and strengthen Kids Matter’s church partnerships
At Kids Matter, we are committed to delivering effective coaching. All Support Coaches are given the opportunity to go through the coaching accreditation process with ICF to become an Associate Certified Coach (ACC). Kids Matter provides the support and supervision for this to take place, and will cover the cost of the accreditation if the individual remains employed as a Support Coach for the two years following applying for accreditation. If the individual leaves before two years, a percentage of the accreditation cost will be required to pay back.

Kempton Steam Museum, operated by Kempton Great Engines Trust, is home to the world's largest operational triple-expansion steam engine, which supplied water to much of London until 1980. Our project, Kempton: Clean Water for Life - reaching a wider audience, is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we aim to transform Kempton Steam Museum’s engagement with visitors and the local community, while enhancing support for volunteers and care of collections. Three new part-time staff roles are being created to focus on volunteering, collections and managing the project.
The part-time Museum Operations and Project Manager will manage day-to-day operations and oversee delivery of the project initiatives. We will also be recruiting a Curatorial Officer (one day per week) and a Volunteer Coordinator (two days per week).

About the role
We are seeking a Substance Misuse Worker who has a specialism in mental health and substance use to join our team in Catford. You will be based within a 24 hour service which provides enhanced rehabilitation support to adults who have been diagnosed with severe and enduring mental health, who would benefit from an intensive rehabilitation and recovery-focused approach. Within this role, you will provide specialist knowledge and experience to support the wider team and residents to help them to overcome their personal barriers.
You will deliver evidence-based interventions based on holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills. You will be a specialist in comorbidity, supporting the team to achieve positive outcomes for our residents. Some of your duties will include:
- Undertake joint holistic assessments, risk assessments, care plans, and interventions to support harm reduction and minimisation.
- Set up realistic and flexible strengths-based support plans, working closely with colleagues and support teams to support and advise on interventions and approaches to meet individual needs.
- Help reduce episodes of crisis and assist residents/participants to access services which can offer alternatives to crisis support.
- Work closely with support staff and clinical teams to support and advise them on interventions and approaches to meet resident/participant comorbid, complex mental health and substance misuse needs.
- Support multi-disciplinary teams and the wider community teams with support, advice, signposting, and move on care planning.
About you
We are looking for someone who has specialist knowledge on how to support individuals with comorbid and complex needs, with experience in interventions, and in a similar role. Qualifications are desirable if paired with practical experience which is relevant to this role. We look at individual characteristics with the ability to engage with various people who may not want to receive the support, able to build trusting professional relationships, and able to demonstrate resilience, solve challenges, and be proactive. You will build relationships with MPs, peers, parliamentary committees, and government departments, track legislation and policy developments, and coordinate public campaigns to influence change. This is a strategic and creative role for someone with strong political instincts, excellent communication skills, and a deep commitment to justice for Black and Minoritised women and girls.
