In this post, funded for 2 years,  you will focus on:

• Identifying and engaging with these groups to better understand their service offer, user base and development needs.
• Connecting: Building trusting and supportive relationships to help form connections across the wider sector by establishing an informal grassroots network of micro VCSEs in Bromley to build a sustainable support system of peer support and intelligence sharing.
• Developing: Providing tailored capacity building support to groups to maximise the positive impact of their services such as support with communications, coordination, governance, funding and premises to name a few.
• Promoting: Enable greater recognition of, respect for, and relationships between micro grassroots VCSEs and health partners in Bromley as well as wider awareness among residents of the services offered by these groups to boost their impact.

The post will include outreach with a focus in the areas of highest health inequalities.

Research & Evidence

• Carry out high-quality research and analysis from both internal and external sources.
•  Centre the experiences and insights of disabled children, young people, and their families in policy solutions
• Monitor policy developments across the SEND landscape and lead on timely, evidence-led responses.
• Track progress against our influencing goals and ensure our actions remain targeted and impactful.

Engagement & Relationship Building

• Build strong relationships with decision-makers across government and the public sector.
• Support the Head of Policy, Voice and Influencing to plan and deliver our strategic external engagement plan in order to focus and drive our wider influencing work
• Represent Kids at meetings and events, including engaging MPs, civil servants, and other key influencers.
• Work closely with internal teams and front-line colleagues to ensure our influencing work is grounded in practice and informed by those delivering services.

Collaboration & Strategic Partnerships

• Work alongside the Head of Policy, Voice and Influencing and Youth Voice Manager to deliver our external engagement strategy including deputising at meetings when required.
• Support collaboration across teams to bring in parent, carer, and young person voices.
• Contribute to external coalitions and alliances – attending meetings, aligning with others’ work, and championing Kids' policy priorities.

Job Summary

The Leadership Programme Manager will oversee the development of a leadership programme and its rollout through establishing sustainable digital hubs, and providing training to women leaders and male allies.  The role will work closely with the PMEL Manager, Provincial Coordinator, church leaders and a team of trainers, to develop a comprehensive leadership curriculum, coordinate the training of trainers, establish online materials to create a hybrid learning model, monitor participant progress, and build networks to promote cross-participant learning and peer support.  This position requires expertise in developing online training resources across multi-cultural contexts, project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a remote team.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Development

• Oversee the advancement of leadership development as a core strategic priority for MU
• Develop and implement programme strategies, resources and tools that strengthen and scale the leadership development initiative, integrating research, monitoring, evaluation and learning
• Design a leadership curriculum that meets the intended project objectives and equips women across diverse contexts, through online and hybrid learning, combining spiritual guidance with practical leadership and management skills

Programme Planning and Budgeting

• Work with PMEL Manager to design and refine M&E frameworks and specific targets
• Develop and manage work plans and budgets in line with project goals and donor requirements
• Identify an appropriate digital platform to be used to run the online aspects of the leadership development programme
• Oversee the successful purchase and use of core equipment necessary to run the digital platform

Programme Implementation and Review

• Lead and support the delivery of leadership training activities across participating dioceses
• Monitor progress against programme outcomes, ensuring high-quality implementation that is timely and within budget
• Collaborate with coordinators, trainers and church leaders to review programme content and adapt as needed for relevance and effectiveness
• Support reporting, learning and sharing of best practice across participating dioceses
• Champion safeguarding and gender empowerment throughout all stages of the project
• Coordinate data collection in line with the programme M&E plan, including impact stories and other evidence of change, for use in MU communications, including social media and publications

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern

This role will be based at our Head Office in Central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

4. Experience of developing and reporting on MEL strategies for large and complex programmes, including developing indicators, theories of change, learning processes and undertaking analysis and evaluation of programmes
5. Experience of coordinating and managing the development of successful funding proposals
6. Experience of leading on the coordination of large programmes of work bringing multiple stakeholders, priorities, and workplans into alignment
7. Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, actively addressing areas of potential bias
8. Willingness to travel to all of our partner countries (Somaliland, the Gambia, Sierra Leone, Zambia and DRC)

Laurence’s Larder is a small, dynamic and beloved local charity that feeds over 300 people a week. Working with a vibrant team of over 90 volunteers Laurence’s Larder provides a weekly food parcel service, two-course sit down meal, clothes bank, art café and access to support and advice services.

Laurence’s Larder is non-referral and open to all, we bring people together, alleviating both social isolation and food poverty, while utilising surplus food. We are also endeavouring to help address some of the underlying needs that contribute to food poverty, and continue to add more support services to our offerings.

Our warm welcome and non-judgmental approach means that we can help our guests to begin to meet their daily needs with not only dignity but practical help.

We are looking for an individual who shares these values for the role of Operations Manager; to oversee the day-to-day running of our services, leading and supporting the volunteers to do this, ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety & food hygiene standards, support the Project Director to achieve agreed outcomes and goals.

We are currently looking at expanding our services by adding an additional service day a week on Tuesdays. This role provides the unique opportunity to be a part of the creation of this service.

If you are someone who loves being part of a team, is interested in food and sustainability, then this is the role for you. This is not a 9-to-5 desk job, this is a role for someone who enjoys being active, thinking on their feet and getting “stuck in”.

Our ideal candidate would have experience working with a team, but also self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision. Strong organisational and planning skills, as well as good people management and interpersonal skills are essential. Understanding or experience of the voluntary sector would be helpful, as would customer service experience.
