About The East End Community Foundation (EECF)

EECF supports communities through our charitable activities of grants and programmes.  In 2024/25 these totalled over £1.6m and we intend to increase our grant making year on year to provide greater and longer-term support so we can continue to make a difference to the lives of local people by supporting vital community-based projects with grant funding. We are looking for a committed individual with knowledge of the local area to join the Grants and Programmes Team. Working as part of our small and busy team you will ensure that EECF delivers an accessible and credible grants service by providing advice, guidance and support to potential grant applicants, assessing applications for funding, and monitoring and evaluating the impact of our grant making.

About You

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience of grant making or applying for funding, and of working in and for the charitable sector, and/or starting out in a career in grant making. We need someone who is a confident communicator and team player. You should be highly efficient with the ability to work across multiple strands to strict deadlines, demonstrate strong organisational skills and build positive relationships with local community organisations. 

The Role

Position: Grants Officer

Responsible to: Head of Grants and Programmes

Hours: 35 hours per week (full-time)

Annual Leave: 23 days (increasing incrementally to 30), plus public holidays

Key Responsibilities: 

· Assist the team in developing, managing, delivering and promoting EECF’s grants programmes.

· Provide information, advice and guidance to grant applicants

· Complete the assessment of grant applications including making phone calls/visits, and completing due diligence checks

· Manage a caseload of grantees including building relationships with grantees, liaising and agreeing outcomes for funded projects, preparing and issuing grant contracts, working with groups through the delivery of their projects to final reporting

· Ensure all information including grant applications are accurately recorded in a timely fashion on the database system Salesforce

· Conduct regular outreach and participate in networking events and awareness raising sessions aimed at potential grant applicants or recipients

· Review end of grant reports and collate information to provide annual reports on grant programmes 

· Contribute to the maintenance and development of grant making systems, policies and procedures including guidance notes, application forms and reporting structures

· Keep abreast of good practice in grant making and new initiatives being implemented by other local grant makers and community foundations

· Undertake such other tasks as may be required to meet the needs of the post as they arise and to ensure the smooth running of EECF’s grant making programmes and charitable activities

Bexley Deaf Centre (BDC) is a small and dynamic, well-established charity which has been serving the borough since 1994. Role Overview 

The Director of Development at the Foundling Museum will lead the Museum’s fundraising strategy, driving income generation to support its mission and programmes. This senior leadership role oversees all aspects of fundraising, including corporate sponsorship, individual giving, trusts and foundations, membership schemes, philanthropic campaigns and communications.  

The Director of Development works closely with the Museum's Director (CEO & Artistic Director), Trustees and key stakeholders to cultivate relationships with high-value donors, build strategic partnerships and secure sustainable financial support. As part of the Senior Management Team, this new role will work in collaboration with the Director of Finance (PT) and Director of Commercial and Operations (FT). 

Reporting directly to the Museum Director, the role involves managing a small development team (2FTE) and communications team, setting ambitious targets and achieving actual income goals, ensuring alignment with the Museum’s values and strategic priorities.

The Director of Development will play a critical role in shaping the Museum’s long-term financial resilience, leveraging the Museum’s reputation and impact to inspire and engage supporters from diverse sectors.  

Key duties 

Strategic Leadership 

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising, membership and partnership strategy to support the Museum’s short and long-term goals 
• Work closely with senior leadership and the Board to align fundraising priorities with the Museum’s mission and strategic objectives

• Lead efforts to secure major gifts and corporate sponsorships, with a particular focus on individuals, trust and foundations, and corporates 
• Oversee the development of compelling proposals, pitches, and presentations to corporate and individual supporters, including negotiation of corporate and philanthropic agreements

Person Specification  

Experience (required) 

• Proven leadership, ideally at least 5 years, in a similar role where philanthropic and grant income is central to the success of the organisation
• Extensive experience of shaping and implementing fundraising strategies that have delivered a step change increase in actual income
• A substantial fundraising track record in securing income from diverse constituencies and across funding types, including personal experience in securing major gifts and managing teams to do the same
• A demonstrable history of innovation and entrepreneurial approaches to identifying income generation opportunities and pushing organisations forward to increase income
• Proven experience of nurturing long and short-term funding opportunities and being the key point of contact for both
• Significant team leadership experience of creating, leading, inspiring and motivating a high performing team and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders
• Strong performance management skills with a proven ability to develop, articulate and champion funding opportunities and gain buy-in among staff and key stakeholders, including board and committee members

Conditions of Work and Benefits 

• £65,000-70,000 full-time salary, depending on experience. We are open to 0.8 FTE at a pro-rata salary.  
• Probation period of 6 months, and notice period of 3 months (1 month during probation)  
• This job will be based onsite at the Foundling Museum. For all our employees, there are opportunities for partial hybrid working if desired; we have an agreed minimum of 60% of working hours that must be onsite at the Museum. 
• Normal working hours are 9.30am to 5.30pm. This role requires some flexibility, including some mornings, evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities 

Leadership & Operations 

• Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth running of all charity functions. 

• Manage and lead a growing team, providing support and guidance.

• Work closely with the Board to implement AWN’s strategic and operational plans.

• Take charge of the Annual Report and related documentation, ensuring compliance with Charity Commission requirements. 

• Support the Board in maintaining effective governance, including updating key policy documents (e.g. risk register). 

External Representation & Stakeholder Engagement 

• Represent AWN at stakeholder and partnership meetings, building and maintaining key relationships aligned with strategic goals. 

• Support the team in managing partnerships and providing strategic advice on project delivery. 

• Attend relevant events outside office hours and on weekends when necessary. 

AWN is looking for: 

Essential 

• Strong organisational and independent time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. 

• Proven experience in operations management, with a track record of improving processes and productivity. 

• The ability to work with and report to the Board of Trustees, including governance and strategic planning, alongside familiarity with charity legislation, guidelines, and best practices. 

• Experience with grant-making, funding, and resource allocation. 

• Experience in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 

• Confidence in public speaking and representing AWN at external events. 

• Ability to support staff development and align team goals with AWN’s strategic vision. 

• Strategic thinking, with clear communication of AWN’s vision. 

• Knowledge of the Muslim community and their needs in the UK. 

• Knowledge of GDPR, data protection, and the regulatory landscape for charities. 

• Understanding of the not-for-profit sector, particularly Muslim-led charities.

• Experience in managing remote teams effectively.

As the Chief Executive Officer, you will provide strategic leadership and ensure effective governance for MDXSU. This is an exciting opportunity to work in our Restoring Rivers & Catchments Team, developing and delivering a portfolio of physical enhancement projects on the ground. This role is suitable for an experienced and knowledgeable individual to build on their existing skills, overseeing all stages of river and catchment enhancement projects; from conception to development, design and physical implementation. You can have practical impact and influence on the natural environment creating sustainable and healthy rivers for the future.

The role of a Project Officer

Whilst this role will predominantly be in the East of the region, you will need to be prepared to work all over the South East should the need arise. River enhancement projects will typically include weir removals, fish passage easements (such as rock ramps, nature-like bypasses or technical fish passes) and river re-naturalisation projects (such as habitat enhancements, reconnecting floodplains & palaeochannels, re-meandering, and backwater creation). Catchment management projects are likely to include wetland creation, Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and Natural Flood Management (NFM) measures. We would be interested to know about any experience you have in the above fields when you apply.

Using your freshwater expertise and proven ability, you will proactively lead on smaller and medium scale projects while working closely with other staff, external partners and stakeholders. You will work with the rest of the team, drawing on the experience of more seasoned staff to help your personal career progression and likewise overseeing Assistant Project Officer and imparting your knowledge onto them. Most importantly of all, you will support the whole team, your line manager and the wider organisation.

About you

For this role we are looking for someone who is:

• Able to put their understanding of freshwater aquatic ecosystems to use by designing, overseeing and delivering projects in this environment.
• Able to work across the catchment to support the development and funding of projects.
• A great communicator able to engage and work with multiple stakeholders.
• Happy and able to get involved with the practical hands on physical delivery of the project.

Schools’ Project Officer (4-5 days per week; 10 months contract with opportunity for renewal)

The job
This is a fantastic opportunity to join this fast-growing charity at a pivotal time, and make significant impact as our grass-roots Schools’ Project Officer. You will be visiting schools, explaining about what we do at assemblies and going for follow up sessions, and then giving email feedback to applications.

Who we are
We are a small lively charity promoting the personal development of year 12s in partner schools, through challenging activities that they design, plan and finally undertake adult-free. We invite students (individually or in groups) to develop their own challenges well outside their ‘comfort zones’, and to be responsible for every stage of the process. We help them plan and manage risk, and give them expenses funding. Our award winners have climbed the highest UK peaks, cycled to Paris, performed plays at school, harnessed green power via a bike, among many other imaginative and ambitious projects.   

Who we are looking for
We are looking for an energetic, talented and reliable candidate for our schools’ outreach team, inspiring high-quality applications for funding from Year 12s in our 85 partner London state schools (20% of the total).  There is scope to help shape our strategy. We are looking for competent project officer, ideally with experience of physical challenge, strong administrative skills and with strong writing skills: they will be comfortable working with students, and value personal challenge and development. He/she will be keen to work with a growing charity, and to support young people usually with a poverty of experience and opportunity.

The 10-month post is up to 4-5 days per week, based in Southwark, with frequent travel to schools across London. The salary is £26,600–£35,000 pa pro rata. Flexible working is considered.

Ruils is run by, and for, disabled people. We exist to remove the barriers that prevent disabled people from living independent lives. Our vision is a society where all individuals have choice and control to live independently. We provide information, advice, advocacy, befriending and activities to our clients and their families.

We work with the Richmond General Practice Alliance (RGPA) and our local Primary Care Networks to deliver personalised care services: Social Prescribing and Proactive Anticipatory Care (PAC). This allows GPs and other health care professionals to refer patients to a Link Worker or Care Coordinator, who can work with the individual and connect them with services and activities in their community. We have a team of 15 Link Workers and Care Coordinators spread throughout the borough and in this role you will lead and manage the team.

The NHS Plan also highlighted the need to focus on the prevention of long-term conditions and reduce health inequalities faced by sections of society. You will also lead the delivery of ‘Health in Your Hands’ and a Community Health and Wellbeing Programme, which focuses on targeting localities that are facing health inequalities due to high levels of social deprivation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Working with the RGPA contract manager and the CEO to set and monitor targets for each project/service and identifying and resolving any issues that arise.
• Strong project management skills – able to set up projects, processes and communicate these clearly to the wider team.
• Creating coherent and comprehensive reports for stakeholders by analysing and collating data from different sources.
• Working on your own initiative and with minimum day to day supervision to achieve agreed goals and targets.
• Attending meetings and events, communicating effectively with a variety of individuals including health professionals and other organisations in the voluntary sector.
• Being responsible for the recruitment, selection, induction and training of new permanent or temporary staff.
