The Role

 At Nechells we are fortunate to have over 80 dedicated Volunteers that commit their time to ensure our 200 local Community Food Members receive the much-needed food to support their communities.

Duties include

• Responsible for recruiting, training and motivating volunteers

• Administrative tasks, including managing the volunteer databases

• Overseeing the Corporate Volunteers that regularly attend the depot for their day of Volunteering

• Develop and support volunteer events for recruitment and recognition

• Lead on all communications to volunteers

• Deliver volunteer inductions and training

• Handling individual volunteer queries and issues

A crucial element of the role as is working closely with the Operational staff in this fast paced warehouse environment.

Working in collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer, Group Events Lead, and Head of Education and Training, the Business Development Manager will develop and execute a plan to promote and grow these revenue streams, building strong relationships with businesses, community groups, and educational institutions.

About the oppurtunity:
You will help drive the quality and impact of our key stage 2 (KS2) and key stage 4 (KS4) maths tutoring programmes through subject-specific training of volunteer tutors, and by advising and supporting our (mostly) non-teaching staff members who manage these volunteer tutors day to day.

You will also observe and give feedback to volunteer tutors delivering maths tuition, and deliver general training for new volunteers, so that they are confident and effective in taking part in our tutoring programmes.

Specific responsibilities relating to the role:

Supporting the delivery of our maths curriculum: 

• Design and deliver online maths-focused training for volunteer tutors so that subject knowledge is secure within the tutor community.
• Provide advice and support, including some direct tutor communications, on subject-specific matters for Action Tutoring staff who manage volunteer tutors.
• Maintain existing tutoring GCSE and KS2 maths curriculum resources to ensure volunteer tutors have high quality materials to use in sessions.
• Support Action Tutoring’s Programme Department to provide and respond to requests for additional materials for tutoring sessions, particularly maths sessions.
• Support with creation of additional maths resources on an ad hoc basis as required, applying Action Tutoring’s pedagogical approach and standards for diversity, equity and inclusion.
• Format any newly generated maths curriculum content for printing.
• Reformat maths curriculum resources for online delivery of tutoring sessions.
• Engage in learning and development opportunities in order to keep knowledge about the expectations set out in the maths national curriculum (KS2 and KS4) and the main exam boards up to date.

Quality assuring tutoring delivery:

• Observe several virtual tutoring sessions a week. Make detailed and unbiased notes on tutor skills, craft empathetic constructive feedback in emails.
• Support our programme delivery team to craft communications and feedback to tutors.
• Produce ‘quality tips’ and resources for tutors and staff.
• Work with Action Tutoring’s volunteer engagement team to feedback trends so that the quality assurance process at the tutor application stage is as strong as possible.

Delivering volunteer tutor training:

• Support the Training Manager by delivering up to four virtual initial tutor training sessions a week during peak months, presenting Action Tutoring’s established training content.
• Support the Training Manager by contributing updates to tutor training content.
• Create content for tutor CPD materials to support with maths tutoring.

Qualifications criteria: 

• Qualified secondary school teacher of Mathematics
• At least two year’s teaching experience in English state schools with an understanding of the barriers facing disadvantaged pupils

· create and review support plans in collaboration with the woman, and other agencies

The Engagement Manager employed by Turn2us will deliver activity with smaller charities and grassroots organisations supporting those facing financial insecurity that:

• Increases awareness of the impact of environmental change and related policy on different communities 
• Listens to people in these communities to find out what actions they want charities and local government to take
• Develops shared local environmental policy priorities and empowers these organisations to advocate directly to local and national policy makers

Princess Alice Hospice is one of the top ten adult hospices in the UK, providing specialist palliative care and support to a community of more than a million people living in Surrey, South West London and Middlesex. 

The Night Response Team (NR) provides specialist on call palliative nursing care between the hours of 22.00 and 08.00, 7 days a week for palliative care patients known to Princess Alice Hospice.

The Team also provides nursing care and assistance to palliative and general patients who are referred from the district nursing service, the OOH’s service (111), local ambulance services SECAMB and LAS, Mole Valley Telecare and Tunstall Community Alarm services. This includes palliative patients who are not known to PAH. Night Response visit patients in their own homes as well as in care and residential homes.

A Night Response shift will be covered by two members of staff per night, usually one RN and an SHCA, occasionally two RN’s.

We are based in an office on the in-patient unit at the Hospice. We receive calls, provide information, support and advice to patients, families, and other health care professionals, whilst visiting patients as required throughout the night.

The Night Response Service brings the skills and expertise of our highly trained and dedicated specialist team directly into the patients homes. This allows patients, their families and carers access to the vital support they need at home, when time matters most, providing the opportunity for patients to remain at home and reducing the need for hospital admissions.  

 About the role: 

We are looking for an experienced, proactive, dynamic and versatile Staff Nurse with excellent interpersonal, communication and telephone triage skills, to join our Night Response Team.

Experience in caring for patients who are terminally ill is essential. You will need to be able to work autonomously and have an excellent understanding of care provision in the community and be involved in auditing the service provided. 

You will need a full driving license with a maximum of 6 points for use of the hospice vehicle (automatic)

Purpose of the Job 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clinical lead working within our Mental Health Support Teams and wider Children and Young People’s Services. As an integral part of our services, you will ensure the high-quality delivery of mental health interventions for children and young people. You will provide  clinical supervision and support to a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practice and national guidelines. This role involves overseeing the delivery of low-intensity and early intervention mental health support within schools and the community for children and young people between the ages of 5-18 (for young people with SEND under 25). In addition, you will ensure professional development and clinical governance.

Job Summary

The role includes:

• Providing case management and clinical supervision (1:1 and group) and some line management
• Supporting the team to write sensitive and appropriate reports concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of children and young people
• Carrying out clinical case file audits to ensure high quality practice and to support practitioners and trainees
• Ensuring that practitioners and trainees work within their scope of practice and adhere to professional standards
• Ensuring adherence to evidence-based practice in accordance with national guidance and national and local policies (including NHS and educational frameworks)
• Escalating referrals where the level of need is beyond the scope of the service
• Contributing to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of the MHST model
• Where appropriate, directly delivering sessions to more complex young people or families
• Support trainee practitioners and supervisors to meet the requirements of their studies
• To facilitate in person group supervision or reflective practice across CYP Services
• To manage the duty service and be part of the out of hours on-call rota advising staff on complex challenges and safeguarding
• To step in to deliver services (e.g. targeted groups, CBT informed 1:1s) to schools where needed (e.g. staff holidays, sickness, special requests from schools)
• To support Whole School Approach staff in the design and delivery of training sessions and developing engaging and accessible resources for children, parents and school staff
• Working with the service manager to establish our presence in schools and the local college and support the on-going delivery and development of our work in partnership with school leaders and other professionals
• Giving timely advice to school staff and liaising with external specialist local services to help children and young people to get the right support and stay in education
• Building and maintaining partnership relationships (e.g. CAMHS, Youth Offending Teams, Educational Psychologists)
• Participate in  complex case discussions and contribute to multi-agency safeguarding processes.
• Uphold high standards of safeguarding, ensuring all concerns are appropriately escalated.

Other Responsibilities

• Oversee the quality of case-recording and documentation on a clinical database (IAPTUS)
• Ensure that all follow up and records maintenance is done within the project timelines and to a high standard
• Contribute to the quarterly reporting to the commissioners on quality assurance from the clinical point of view
• Represent the MHST and HFEH Mind at external meetings
• Attend regular team meetings as agreed with the service manager
• Attend and successfully complete all mandatory training as required by HFEH Mind
• Ensure that all support provided has an inclusive values base which recognises and respects difference and diversity
• Attend regular 1:1s and reflective practice sessions, and work to meet KPIs and actions from meetings
• Any other reasonable tasks to meet the needs of the organisation (inline with the requirements of the role).

Person Specification

Essential

• Professional qualification (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing).
• Accreditation with a relevant professional body (e.g., HCPC, BACP, UKCP, BPS, BABCP, NMC, Social Work England).
• Significant experience (minimum of 5 years) in child and adolescent mental health, including direct work with children and families with complex needs
• Experience of providing clinical supervision to practitioners working with children
• Strong understanding of evidence-based interventions (e.g. CBT, trauma-informed approaches)
• Experience of managing risk and safeguarding concerns
• Excellent communication skills and non-judgmental approach to working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Understanding of neurodiversity and the needs of children with additional or complex needs and an adaptable approach to what works

Desirable

• Knowledge of the MHST model, early intervention, and school-based mental health services
• Experience of working in education settings or school-based mental health teams
• Training in supervision models (e.g. BABCP/BPS supervision course)
• Experience in delivering training
• Experience of working in a school or college setting

Job Title: Eastern European Floating Support Worker 

Location: Hybrid working with a requirement to occasionally work at Head Office (Vauxhall, London) and co-locations across London
Salary: £28,857.12 per annum inclusive of London weighting if applicable
Contract type: This post is Fixed Term Contract until March 2026. There is a possible extension of contract depending on funding

Hours: 37.5 hours per week 

We are recruiting for Floating Support Worker who will support the Ascent Pan London Service in building sustainable referral pathways and joint working protocols with a range of partners working with survivors of domestic abuse

You will provide capacity-building in the form of advice, advocacy, support, and briefings across the London boroughs to statutory agencies and community organizations around the needs of Eastern European domestic abuse survivors, to embed best practice across our communities. 

It is desirable for candidates to be proficient in one or more Eastern European languages.

You will have proven experience of providing direct emotional and practical support to women as well as up-to-date knowledge of legislation relating to survivors of gender-based violence. You will have excellent casework skills, good written and verbal communication skills, clear professional boundaries and be a proactive team player. All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the feminist values of empowerment and equality which underpin all of our work. 

The post holder will provide a high-quality personal welfare support service to Eastern European survivors of domestic abuse and other forms of violence and abuse and their children. The post holder will empower Eastern European survivors by providing them with emotional and practical support, including support to access safe accommodation. 

The post holder will provide capacity building in the form of advice, advocacy, support and briefings across the London boroughs to statutory agencies and community organizations around the needs of Eastern European domestic abuse survivors, to embed best practice across our communities. 

Please note that this post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.
