This is a regional based role that will cover the South Wales and Bristol area. 

Job Role:

As a Senior Community Fundraising Officer for your region, you will manage supporter engagement and activity in your region whilst also supporting the wider team as an example of excellent fundraising and stewardship, leading the team by sharing good practice in your work.

You will have a key position in the Community Fundraising team working with the National Community Fundraising Manager to support with the development of the community fundraising strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Income Generation and Supporter Engagement

• Lead the development and delivery of community fundraising campaigns and initiatives across the region, driving sustainable income growth through excellent supporter engagement and stewardship
• Build and sustain strong relationships with supporters, volunteers, local groups and external partners to maximise income, participation and long-term engagement
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver compelling fundraising activity and ensure an outstanding supporter experience at every stage of the journey
• Monitor performance against agreed income and activity targets[BB1] , using insight and analysis to identify opportunities, adapt plans and support continuous improvement

Leadership and Planning

• Develop and deliver a robust regional fundraising plan aligned to organisational priorities and income targets
• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and support to Community Fundraisers across the region, fostering collaboration, accountability and a culture of high performance
• Champion best practice and contribute senior-level guidance to strengthen fundraising delivery, supporter stewardship and team effectiveness across the region
• Act as a senior representative for the Community Fundraising team at cross-departmental and management meetings when required, including in the absence of the National Community Fundraising Manager
• Build effective internal relationships and contribute to joined-up planning that strengthens organisational impact and maximises opportunities for collaboration
• Represent the charity at key events, meetings and partnership opportunities[BB3] , delivering clear and compelling messages about its work and impact

Budget Management, Reporting and Strategy Development

• Prepare and manage the regional budget, ensuring activity is well planned, cost-effective and aligned with agreed priorities
• Monitor fundraising performance against agreed targets and maintain accurate records, analysis and insight to support effective decision-making
• Contribute to the development and delivery of the wider community fundraising strategy, using regional insight, performance data and supporter feedback to identify opportunities and shape future plans

Working with Others

• Interact with families supported by the charity in a sensitive, compassionate and appropriate manner, respecting confidentiality and recognising the emotional context of their experiences
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across Engagement, Family Services and other teams to maximise organisational impact and deliver joined-up supporter experiences
• Contribute ideas, insight and learning to support continuous improvement across the Engagement Directorate and wider organisation

Knowledge and Experience:

• Significant experience in a fundraising or closely related role, with a strong track record of delivering against income targets
• Line management experience and/or a recognised management qualification
• Experience of developing and delivering regional plans, strategies or project plans, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational delivery
• Experience of preparing and managing budgets, monitoring performance and reporting accurately against targets and objectives
• Experience of building and managing positive relationships with a diverse range of supporters, partners and internal stakeholders
• Experience of using insight, performance data and supporter feedback to identify opportunities and support continuous improvement

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences and represent the charity with credibility
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-management skills, with the ability to engage, influence and inspire a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
• Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to support colleagues, foster collaboration and drive high performance
• Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and balance strategic thinking with operational delivery
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and confidence using CRM systems for supporter management and reporting
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret performance information and use insight to inform decisions and identify growth opportunities
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of priorities and outcomes
• A collaborative, inclusive and adaptable approach when working with colleagues, supporters, volunteers, families and external partners
• Able to interact with families in a sensitive, compassionate and appropriate manner, recognising the emotional context of their experiences
• Willingness and ability to work outside normal working hours, including evenings and weekends, and to travel across the wider UK as required
