We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our friendly and committed team at RASASC Guildford as our Community and Events Fundraiser, working with us for 28 hours (4 days) per week.

Position: Community and Events Fundraiser

Hours: 28 hours, 4 days per week (0.8 FTE)

Salary: £28,000-£32,000 FTE (depending on experience)

Location: Based in Guildford with regular travel across Surrey and surrounding areas

Accountable to: CEO

About RASASC: RASASC Guildford Limited is a registered charity supporting people of all genders, from the age of 13, from across Surrey, who have experienced the trauma of sexual harm, whether recently or in the past.

We are the largest specialist rape and sexual abuse support organisation in the county and provide a range of free, confidential, specialist services so that survivors can move forward with their lives, untethered by the impact of abuse.

Over the last two years, RASASC has successfully developed its community fundraising, challenge events and individual giving programmes, creating a strong foundation for future growth.

We are now looking for an enthusiastic and motivated fundraiser to help build on this success and develop sustainable unrestricted income that supports our vital services. The successful candidate will also share and support RASASC's commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.

Purpose of the Role: This is an exciting opportunity to join RASASC at a key stage in the development of our fundraising programme. Over the last two years, community fundraising, challenge events and individual giving have grown significantly and demonstrated strong potential for future development.

We are now looking for a passionate, organised and enthusiastic Community Fundraiser to help build on this success. You'll oversee our community fundraising and challenge events programme, building strong relationships with supporters, local partners and community groups to raise vital funds for RASASC.

Working closely with the Fundraising Manager, you will build relationships with supporters, local businesses, community groups and donors, helping to increase unrestricted income and raise awareness of RASASC's work. The role will also support the development of individual giving, including our client donation programme, helping to create sustainable unrestricted income for the charity.

This role would suit someone with fundraising, events, communications or community engagement experience who is looking to move into the next stage of their fundraising career within a supportive team environment. We are looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, building relationships and creating opportunities for others to support our work.

Key Responsibilities:

Community Fundraising, Events & Challenges 

• Support and grow community fundraising income across Surrey and surrounding areas
• Recruit, steward and motivate individuals taking part in fundraising challenges and activities for RASASC
• Act as the main point of contact for community fundraisers and event participants
• Provide supporters with fundraising materials, encouragement and guidance throughout their fundraising journey
• Promote fundraising opportunities and third-party challenge events
• Attend fundraising activities, networking events and community events as a representative of RASASC
• Identify opportunities to develop new community fundraising initiatives and partnerships
• Build relationships with local businesses and organisations
• Support fundraising volunteers where appropriate

Supporter Stewardship & Individual Giving

• Deliver excellent supporter care and stewardship
• Build positive relationships with donors, fundraisers and supporters
• Support the growth of individual giving, including one-off and regular donations
• Promote and help develop RASASC's client donation programme, encouraging those who wish to give back to support the charity's work
• Ensure supporters receive timely thanks, updates and recognition
• Help encourage repeat support and long-term engagement with the charity
• Gather and share supporter stories and fundraising successes

Fundraising Communications

• Support the promotion of fundraising campaigns, challenge events and supporter stories
• Work with the Communications and Engagement Manager to identify opportunities to improve supporter engagement, fundraising communications and digital fundraising activity
• Provide fundraising content and updates to help raise awareness of RASASC and the impact of our work.

Administration

• Maintain accurate supporter records, donations and fundraising activity using Donorfy
• Provide activity and income updates to the Fundraising Manager
• Support monitoring of fundraising performance and supporter engagement
• Ensure fundraising activities comply with organisational policies, GDPR and fundraising regulations.

Person Specification

Essential Experience & Skills

• At least 1-2 years’ experience in fundraising, events, communications, marketing, customer engagement or a similar people focused role
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with supporters, volunteers, businesses and community groups
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and prioritise effectively
• Ability to motivate and engage supporters, volunteers or customers
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
• Experience of using CRMs (databases) to collate data, create impact reports and input and manage donor information
•  Ability to work independently and use initiative
• Commitment to the aims and values of RASASC

Desirable

• Experience of community fundraising or supporter engagement
• Experience of supporting fundraising events or challenge events
• Experience of creating content for social media, newsletters or email communications
• Knowledge of fundraising good practice and donor stewardship
• Experience of working with volunteers.

• The role requires occasional evening and weekend working to attend fundraising events, networking opportunities and supporter activities

In return, we can offer you 25 days annual leave (pro rata for part-time hours, eight public holidays (pro rata for part-time hours) contributory pension scheme and reimbursement of travel expenses at 55p per mile.
