We have an exciting opportunity for a Supporter Relations Officer to join our team, based at one of our 21 rehoming centres.
The role of the Supporter Relations Officer (SRO) is to promote the work of Dogs Trust to key audience groups in their catchment area and to support them accordingly. They provide a vital link to the community, stewarding supporters wherever they may be on their Dogs Trust journey. This is done by handling local supporter legacy and Canine Care Card enquiries, as well as in memory donations.
The SRO spends time in the community, visiting local businesses and people, as well as organising community talks to relevant audience groups. They organise supporter events and tours at the rehoming centres throughout the year and are also part of the team organising and attending events with the Dogs Trust Village.
As the role is primarily customer-facing, the SRO is based at the rehoming centre. However, they spend a portion of their time in local communities. This role also involves frequent travel, both locally and across the UK, including some overnight stays, as well as weekend and evening work. A full UK manual driving licence is essential.
The successful candidate will have experience in a public facing role and a passion and commitment to the work and aims of Dogs Trust. They will be a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to develop and prioritise their own workload, working well under pressure and to deadlines.

The Role
As the Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will spearhead the expansion of our Corporate and Community Giving portfolio. This role involves enhancing relationships with current donors, partnerships with new businesses, and playing a critical role in our Fundraising & Trading Department. You will be instrumental in managing income streams projected to raise £150,000 this year, with ambitions for future growth. Your role will also encompass being a prominent figure in the community, delivering fundraising talks, attending networking events and being an advocate for Bath Cats and Dogs Home.
About You
You are a dynamic individual with a successful track record in corporate fundraising, capable of securing significant income through corporate and community events. Your skills include:
- Exceptional leadership and the ability to manage and mentor a team.
- Strong marketing abilities, both online and offline, to achieve financial and recruitment targets.
- Excellent public engagement and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in IT and CRM databases, ideally with experience in Raisers Edge.

A new role within our European region, the Paid Social Media Specialist will be working closely with our Senior Digital Marketing Lead (UK) to deliver world-class paid media campaigns on multiple digital platforms in multiple countries.
This role will work across IFAW’s four fundraising markets in Europe: France, Germany, Netherlands and the UK to grow our paid media revenue. The role will focus on Social and Search advertising but also to experiment with new emerging platforms.
Directly reporting to the Senior Digital Marking Lead in the UK this role will coordinate and plan new paid social campaigns and content, working closely with the Digital Leads, and the Senior Fundraising and Marketing Manager, to roll these out across our markets. This is a full time position of 37.5 hours per week over Monday to Friday.
From 1st July 2024 we are piloting a four day working week across the whole of the UK organisation. This pilot is planned to run for 12 months, at which point a decision will be made by our Board of Trustees as to whether this will become permanent. Success of the trial relies on the organisation being able to achieve the same or improved level of impact in four working days as five, with staff experiencing either the same or improved levels of wellbeing.
During the four day week pilot, working hours for this position will be reduced to 30 hours per week, spanning Monday to Thursday, with no reduction in salary. This will be a temporary change to the contractual terms with the successful candidate. The appointed person must be prepared to increase their working hours to 37.5 hours per week if a return to a five-day working week is decided.

We’re looking for a dedicated Shop Manager to lead our wonderful store in Wilmslow. Situated in the heart of the community, our shop enjoys fantastic support from loyal customers and generous donations.

As our Shop Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our Wilmslow store, driving sales, fostering community connections, and ensuring your shop runs smoothly.

- Inspiring and motivating your wonderful team of volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure everyone shines.
- Creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers, delivering exceptional service and representing Blue Cross with pride.

- Keeping things running smoothly with efficient paperwork, accurate data management, and adherence to retail standards.
- Maintaining optimal stock levels, ensuring our shelves are always full of treasures for our customers.
- Prioritising the safety of our team and customers, following all health and safety protocols with care and diligence.
Your normal working pattern will change each week, subject to the needs of the business and the levels of staff and volunteers available to work and will involve a significant element of weekend working.
Due to the nature of the role this may involve some lone working and you will need to be willing to provide support and work at other shops as required.
About you
You'll have previous experience in retail management and able to offer effective support and leadership to your team. As a motivating manager and adept team builder, you'll harness the potential of your staff, working closely with the Assistant Shop Manager to ensure robust management for the shop and its team.
Your exceptional interpersonal skills will enable you to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals, including your team and customers. With a flexible, positive attitude, creative ingenuity, and a drive to succeed, you'll thrive in this role.
- Retail management experience
- Commercial awareness to deliver sales
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong external relationships
- Good IT skills and a basic understanding of finance
- Good people and time management skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and to make business decisions as required
- Excellent customer service skills
- Able to interpret sales data and set action plans accordingly
- Strong eye for detail and ensuring highest standards of presentation are achieved
- Good organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise workload for yourself and the shop team
- The ability to demonstrate, understanding and apply our Blue Cross values
Although not essential, it would be great if you had:
- Full driving licence
- Experience of working with volunteers
- Experience of fundraising

The successful candidate will use their commercial knowledge and experience to oversee multiple shops in order to drive sales and maximise profits. During a period of transformational change their exceptional leadership skills will empower and support their team to achieve their targets which in turn supports our income generation strategy ensuring a brighter future for animals in need.
Founded in 1924, Woodgreen Pet Charity’s mission is to care for vulnerable pets, whether they have been abandoned, neglected, are vulnerable or simply need a home. Our retail estate is a key piece of the puzzle as we look to diversify our income streams to support more pets and their people. By developing and leading our passionate shop teams to be the face of Woodgreen on the High Street, you will play a pivotal role in driving our mission forward. You will;
- Coach, Lead, and Inspire: Working closely with your team you will foster a culture of collaboration and growth. You will be confident to address challenges head-on but to also to celebrate successes.
- Achieve Sales Targets: With a sharp focus on financial goals, you will lead your area to meet and exceed sales targets. You will maximise retail profit by driving donated sales, new goods sales, Gift aid and fundraising income whilst also controlling variable costs. You will monitor each shops sales performance against a weekly budget, taking action as necessary to improve sales performance where shops are under-performing.
- Recruit and Develop Talent: Building a high-performing team is key. Working alongside Woodgreen’s People Team, you will recruit, develop, and retain top-notch staff across all roles, nurturing their skills and potential to drive performance.
- Ensure Compliance: Across your designated area you will ensure in-shop compliance with organisational policies and Woodgreen’s Ways of Being, with a strong understanding of safeguarding in the charity retail environment.
- Analyse Data for Insights: Using relevant financial data you will make informed commercial decisions in order to guide your area towards profitability and sustainability.
- Set Standards: By maintaining sector-leading standards in customer service and in-store merchandising, you will ensure an exceptional shopping experience for our customers.
- Drive Donations: By encouraging and supporting your Shop Management team to initiate and lead area-driven initiatives your area will generate quality donated goods, fuelling Woodgreen’s mission to support animals in need.
- Engage with Communities: At the heart of our community strategy Woodgreen aspires to ensure that our shops are not just places of retail, but integral parts of the communities we serve.
In return we can offer you;
- A competitive starting salary of £34,730 - £42,446 per annum depending on experience.
