Together with our VCSE Sector Development Manager, internal team and external partners, you will ensure that KVA offers an ambitious and innovative capacity building programme for Kingston community and voluntary sector organisations.

As part of the Trusts and Institutional funding team of four you’ll work alongside the Head of Trusts and Institutional, Trusts Manager, Trusts Executive and the new Trusts and Institutional Funding Executive. The main task of the Institutional Funding Lead is to secure funding from UK-based institutional donors, with a primary focus on the FCDO.

You will drive forward dynamic and proactive engagement strategies directly with UK-based institutional donors and indirectly through consortia, as well as developing and supporting organisational positioning for contracts and grants.

This role will introduce innovative and agile funding approaches and models to enhance War Child UK’s competitiveness in a complex donor environment. You’ll achieve this by working closely with the War Child Alliance Foundation to research and analyse opportunities, enhance and support donor engagement plans, and drive forward engagement opportunities to maximise and secure funding.

About the role

• Develop and strengthen a network of contacts with relevant representatives from UK institutional donors and partners, primarily FCDO, institutional foundations and INGOs, to enable consortia to develop and grow.
• Identify funding needs within War Child and match them with institutional funding opportunities by engaging with country teams, the regional teams and the Alliance institutional funding coordination.
• Lead the co-creation, coordination, and design of complex and challenging proposals for institutional funding opportunities, including multi-country opportunities or large-scale consortium bids.
• Line manage the new Trusts and Institutional Funding Executive providing professional development and support.

About you

• Experience of co-creating, leading, and coordinating complex proposal development processes, ideally for relevant donors including FCDO and humanitarian pooled funds.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance, with an up-to-date knowledge of relevant donors including FCDO, and humanitarian pooled funds.
• Experience in building networks, partnerships, and consortia to maximise programme impact and funding opportunities.
• Line management or leadership experience.

About this role

The Digital Acquisition Officer is a key member of the Mass Engagement team and part of the wider Development team. The Mass Engagement team exists to raise awareness of Reprieve’s work, shift public opinion and to inspire support. Your role will be to engage members of the public, grow the Reprieve’s community and help establish our supporter base.

It is an exciting time for our team, as we launch their first mass engagement strategy to promote the long-term growth of the programme. Digital fundraising boomed between 2020 and 2021 but has faced challenges in 2022 and 2023. As we launch our new strategy, we are looking for a creative and enthusiastic individual, keen to try new things and learn through testing, excited about communicating Reprieve’s work to our supporters and inspiring them to donate.

You will be key to the acquisition of new supporters, leading on developing and managing lead generation across our platforms, building paid for and organic content, and developing new and innovative ways to engage supporters with the support of the Head of Digital and Mass Engagement.

As a small team we have a collaborative and “all hands on deck” approach, ready to step in and support each other. This means at times you will support on our retention and stewardship work, as well as helping the wider Development Team when needed.

You will share our commitment to fighting racism and advancing racial justice, as well as help craft comms that can take supporters with us on this work whilst ensuring we do this in a way that does not compound racist structures.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Development and Outreach Officer to play a key role in mobilising resources, expanding the network, and raising awareness about child marriage globally. The Development and Outreach Officer will work within the Development and Outreach Team to develop and implement fundraising strategies, cultivate donor relationships, lead the development of grant proposals and reporting processes, and support with outreach events.
 

We are looking for a passionate fundraiser with previous experience in a similar role in the not-for-profit sector, international/intergovernmental organisation or social enterprise. You will have a proven track record of writing funding proposals for trusts and foundations, excellent relationship management and impeccable written communication skills.

• Research and identify potential funding opportunities from diverse sources, including trusts and foundations, governments and corporates.
• Collaborate with Girls Not Brides’ internal teams (regional, finance, communications, learning and impact teams) to maximise fundraising opportunities.
   

Outreach events

•  Support the team in the planning and implementation of events and outreach work throughout the year, working with other teams in the Secretariat, our members and partners.
•  Represent Girls Not Brides at meetings, conferences, and events to network with existing and potential donors, to promote the organisation's mission and impact.

Supported by the Statutory Grants Manager, this role is fundamental in developing, supporting and championing new and existing fundraising from heath providers and local authorities. The aim is to increase income generation in this area whilst raising SSAFA’s profile within local authorities and health care provision. This initiative will require relationship development and bid writing skills to create effective proposals for support.

SSAFA is entering into an exciting period of strategic development within this proven income stream. If successful, you will be the part of a small team with potential for career development.

There will be an occasional need to travel across the UK and to work evenings and weekends at key events.

About the team

You will join a small, established and dedicated team who cover the whole of the UK. With regular team meetings and a variety of communication mediums you will be given ongoing support, training and mentoring throughout. We are a remote team and well connected to all colleagues. This supports and drives our determination and success.

About you

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who thrives on challenge. A determined, highly motivated individual, with a track record of securing significant funds. A natural communicator with proven success with bid writing and presentation skills. A confident networker, able to represent the charity to external stakeholders, build strong relationships, communicating effectively across the region whilst working from home. Job Responsibilities

Trust and foundations

• Update the trusts and foundations database and managing the pipeline of activity
• Prepare tailored applications to trusts and foundations
• Manage reporting deadlines to funders
• Work closely with the artistic teams and Executive Director to shape proposals
• Create budgets working with the Executive Director, Finance Director, Artistic Directors and Project Leads 

Individual and Corporate Giving

• Create individual giving schemes, exploring the potential for new initiatives such as membership and legacy programmes
• Cultivate relationships with potential individuals and steward donors
• Research potential corporate supporters – both corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sponsorship
• Pitch to potential donors and supporters

Event Planning

• Create a programme of cultivation events which could:

- thank and nurture existing donors

- act as a precursor to giving

- introduce individuals and companies to potential campaigns

- begin new relationship development

Good practice, such as ethical fundraising

• Development of an ethical fundraising statement, in partnership with Executive and Board
• Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations
• Supporting team in being part of a fundraising culture

General

• Day to day management of fundraising budget, creating and monitoring income targets and delivering compelling company messaging around charitable giving on and offline. 

Ideal candidates will have skills and experience as shown in the candidate pack including:

• Evidence of alignment with charity’s vision, mission, values and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Lived experience of disabling or marginalising barriers.
• Understanding and experience of performing arts landscape, key figures, organisations and funders.
• A curious, inclusive, flexible and collaborative working style with proven ability to work as part of a team across all levels.​.
• Clear communicator, team player, tolerant of other views.
• Fundraising track record, delivering against targets (in a similar sized arts or not-for-profit) and of securing significant donations at the five-figure level or more.
• Experience of monitoring and reporting against targets and managing budgets.
• Adept at supporting and structuring negotiations and at building relationships with stakeholders including Arts Council England.
• Thorough knowledge of the relevant fundraising legislation, regulations and financial issues and fundraising obligations of arts charities/Arts Council National Portfolio Organisations.
• Strong literacy, administrative, time management and organisational skills.
• Proactive approach to continuing professional development.
• Experience of dealing with public sector organisations at a senior level.
• Membership of relevant educational and/or professional bodies.
