Introduction to the role

Reporting to the Head of Membership and Operations, the Business Development and Partnership Manager will play a crucial role in driving sustainable growth and cultivating strategic partnerships that align with the organisation's core mission and values. This newly created position aims to strengthen our expansion efforts and help us adapt to the changing landscape of care and support for disabled people.

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development and Partnership Manager who will lead initiatives to identify, develop, and manage partnerships that can drive significant growth and enhance our market presence. This role will also focus on existing revenue streams and explore new areas for development and growth. The position requires exceptional relationship-building skills and a deep understanding of partnership management. The National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) is seeking a proactive and skilled Media Officer to join our Communications and Public Affairs team. This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to help shape and strengthen NFCC’s voice in the national conversation around fire and rescue services.

Reporting into the Media and External Affairs Manager, you will play a central role in growing our media presence and positioning NFCC as the go-to source for journalists covering national fire and rescue issues. You will help to ensure our messages are clear, timely, and authoritative across all platforms.

Key responsibilities:

Serve as a point of contact for incoming media enquiries.

Working with us:

The Purpose of the Role

 The External Relations (ER) department includes private fundraising, marketing & communications and advocacy. About JETS
The Jockeys Education & Training Scheme is a successful registered charity (Number 1149018) that provides career coaching, mentoring and practical career development training to professional jockeys, recently retired professional jockeys and  beneficiaries of the Injured Jockeys Fund.

Industry 

• Work collaboratively with partners, The Professional Jockeys Association and The Injured Jockeys Fund.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Support in fundraising materials preparation and distribution

GamCare is looking for dedicated Night Shift Helpline Advisers to provide essential support to those affected by gambling-related harm.

GamCare offers helpline support through multiple channels, including our Freephone Helpline, Live Chat, WhatsApp, and other digital platforms such as forums and chatrooms. The Helpline operates 24/7, 365 days a year, ensuring support is always available.

As the first point of contact, you will offer help, advice, and emotional support to individuals struggling with their own or someone else’s gambling. You will work exclusively on night shifts as part of our award-winning Helpline team (Helpline of the Year), following a two-week rotating schedule with shifts running from 10:30 PM to 7:30 AM.

The working hours are 28 hours per week (average). Hours are between 10.30pm and 7.30am.

In return, we will provide you with comprehensive training, regular supervision, and a full CPD programme to support your development.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will hold a professional qualification in Health, Social Care, Psychology, Youth or Community Care, such as NVQ Level 3 or above, or a Diploma in Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies, Advice, and Guidance. Alternatively, you will have demonstrable experience of working with vulnerable individuals affected by addiction harm and/or complex needs.

We also welcome applications from those with lived experience of gambling-related harm, provided they have professional experience in a supportive environment and a strong understanding of safeguarding legislation.

You will be able to engage effectively, sensitively, and with empathy when supporting callers reaching out to GamCare. The ability to deliver non-judgemental, confidential support is essential to this role.

Additionally, you will be committed to maintaining a strong understanding of problem gambling and will have a genuine interest in the areas of gambling addiction, treatment, early intervention, and prevention.
