The post-holder will maintain a manageable caseload of clients needing support with their welfare rights and benefits. The role is to support the Welfare Rights Advice Project Team with the following:
- To carry out an initial client assessment, identifying any issues with their benefits and any claims they can make to maximise their income.
- Provide casework (including challenging decisions) for welfare benefits available to clients with mental health difficulties and their carers: i.e. Personal Independence Payments, Universal Credit, Employment and Support Allowance and Housing Benefit.
- Provide information and advice as appropriate about issues related to a client’s particular situation.
- Provide advice and casework for mobility and discretionary schemes and personal grants that could be of benefit to clients.
- Take referrals directly from service users, carers or staff from other agencies (encouraging use of our online referral form)
- Signpost and refer clients to agencies that assist with transition from hospital to community living, or to tackle social isolation and improve mental wellbeing.
- Maintain records in accordance with Hear Us policies and procedures, including the handling of confidential and private documents and keeping written and computer records up to date and secure.
- Liaise with GPs, CMHT’s and other agencies to obtain supporting documents, by telephone, letter and e-mail.
- Taking confidential telephone messages from clients and outside agencies.
- Take part in weekly WRAP team meetings regarding case allocation, and stay up to date with changes in benefits legislation.

What the job offers
This is an exciting new post at our charity to take forward our Strategy to expand our service support and reach more people in need. You’ll be responsible for recruiting and on-boarding a diverse team of volunteers who contribute to SLT’s programmes. You won’t be managing volunteers at activities – that’s handled by other team members – but you will make sure that all volunteers feel welcomed, trained, supported and valued. You will provide regular supervision outside activities and work with staff to develop inclusive, consistent volunteering practices across the charity.
Who we are seeking
We’re looking for someone with a passion for the value of volunteering, who can bring energy and initiative to develop our volunteer workforce. You will have a proven track record of supporting volunteers in a community/social care setting. You will have ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues across teams. You will have confidence in delivering inductions and facilitating small group supervision sessions. You will demonstrate good organisational and communication skills, including the ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. You will be willing to undertake occasional evening work for volunteer availability.

We have a rewarding and varied opportunity for a Community Based Dementia Adviser to join us covering Southwark and Lambeth. The successful candidate will be delivering advice and guidance to people, families and carers affected by dementia. Working as part of the Alzheimer’s Society Lambeth team and the Southwark and Lambeth Memory Service you will support newly diagnosed clients to navigate support and services from the London Borough of Lambeth, who are referred to our service.
There is no direct care element to the Community Based Dementia Adviser role, however we work passionately to provide advice, support and guidance to people affected by dementia. This role supports people in their homes where we interact face to face, over the telephone and virtually to give people the tools and knowledge to make informed decisions about their future. Hours: 17.5 per week (to be agreed hours must be between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday)

Purpose of the Job
Hammersmith, Fulham, Ealing & Hounslow Mind deliver services across five sites in West London. Two sites are operated by HFEH Mind and three sites are run by our partners.
We are looking for a proactive and organised Facilities Co-ordinator to support the smooth running of our charity's buildings across all five sites. This is an ideal role for someone with some experience in facilities, property services, or office co-ordination who would like to support a large but locally focused mental health charity.
Key Responsibilities
General
With a commitment to providing high-quality and accessible spaces to a diverse community, working knowledge of the health and safety obligations of operating community buildings, and a friendly, non-judgemental attitude, you will be required to:
Day-to-day Site Operations
- Conduct basic site checks; schedule, prioritise and carry out minor repairs (e.g., replacing lightbulbs, replacing camera batteries, reporting larger maintenance issues).
- Escalate any issues to the Business Support Manager when necessary.
- Ensure spaces are tidy, clean and safe in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
- Maintain guidelines and site handbooks, ensuring all are up to date.
- Ensure supplies checked and well stocked (toiletries, stationery, refreshments, toner).
- Liaise with central services to oversee onsite deliveries.
- Co-ordinate movement of items/ stock between sites.
- Report shared IT and photocopier issues to relevant suppliers.
- Ensure waste disposal at HFEH Mind sites are compliant with local authorities’ guidelines.
Health & Safety Support
- Support with regular fire alarm testing and fire drills.
- Help maintain health and safety records and reports.
- Assist with onboarding staff on building safety (e.g., exits, alarms).
- To be a First Aider and Fire Warden (training will be provided) and ensure training is up to date. Organise other staff to be Fire Wardens.
Security & Access
- Keep track of keys and access fobs; maintain register.
- Ensure security systems are in working order (CCTV, alarms).
- Liaise with external contractors as required.
Coordination & Admin
- Assist Business Support Manager with maintenance schedule and supplier review schedule.
- Maintain records for H&S inspections (fire extinguishers etc) and risk assessments.
- Help gather quotes for minor works or maintenance.
- Ensure all facilities related invoices are provided to finance.
- Check post at registered office(s) regularly and manage facilities email inbox.
- Contribute data for management reports.
Person specification
Essential
- Experience in a facilities or office coordination role, ideally across multiple sites.
- Good understanding of health and safety in the workplace.
- Comfortable handling basic manual tasks (changing lightbulbs, moving boxes, etc).
- Good IT skills. Confident using Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook).
- A commitment to the values of HFEH Mind and respecting the needs and confidentiality of our service users and visitors.
Desirable
- Fire warden and first aid training.
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
- UK driving licence.
- Living within easy travelling distance of our sites
Qualities:
- Strong communication and organisation skills.
- Comfortable working independently across multiple sites.

WMUK is looking for a passionate and experienced nurse to bring their specialist haematology expertise to our small but ambitious charity team.
You’ll have a background in caring for people living with blood cancer, and ideally, experience or knowledge of supporting those with Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinaemia (WM).
As the only UK charity who solely focus on WM, we have big plans to expand and evolve our support services. A key part to this role will be managing the UK’s only dedicated support line for people affected by WM. You’ll provide guidance, emotional support, and practical help to the 4,000 people living with WM and their loved ones – helping them understand their diagnosis, prepare for appointments, and ultimately feel empowered to live well with their condition.
You will also be leading the development and launch of The WMUK Support centre, an innovative new online service, bringing WM specialists together to offer tailored, holistic support across the UK.

This is an opportunity to lead an award winning communications team – Third Sector Communications Team of the Year in 2024 – that’s tasked with changing how we think about hospice, end of life and palliative care in the UK.
As the charity representing the UK’s 200+ hospices, we have secured ourselves a significant national platform in the past year or two, with regular, top-tier national media, and online campaigns which have forced the government to act.
With assisted dying legislation progressing across the UK, now is a critically important moment for the public – and for politicians – to better understand what hospice care is all about, and the challenges we face.
As part of our mission to promote and protect hospice care for all, it is critical that our communications team keeps it high on the agenda. We’ve built huge momentum – whether with regular national TV news coverage, a rapidly growing online supporter base, or though our recently overhauled brand. But we need a savvy, politically switched-on Head of Communications and Campaigns to keep that going, and to make it pay off.
Hospices are amongst our most loved community charities, and our job as the national charity for hospice care is to rally the public – as well as major donors like companies and trusts – to support these brilliant organisations.
You’ll need a strong eye for a story, and an integrated understanding of the full spectrum of communications, campaigns and marketing. You’ll likely be a specialist in one area – which is fine – but we want someone who can join the dots, spot the opportunities, and inspire a team of specialists.
Hospices are under huge pressure. Funding is tight, and demand is surging. This is your chance, in the coming years, to play a leading role in fighting for hospices to get the support they need – from government, from the media, and from the public.
