Finance
- Lead all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, payroll, and reporting activities.

- Supervise the bookkeeper.
- Manage the IT Support Contractor, ensuring they maintain data integrity, security, and availability across the organization.
The Person
Essential Criteria
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Experience of managing audits and preparing statutory accounts.

We are looking for Sessional Workers to support Advance’s Criminal Justice Services. Advance’s Criminal Justice Services work with women involved in the Criminal Justice System offering safe, targeted support and advocacy to women to help them address their complex needs in relation to the 9 pathways to offending, such as substance misuse and financial difficulties, aiming to reduce re-offending, encourage desistance amongst repeat offenders, and empower women to live safe, crime free lives.
You will be working in a team of Community Keyworkers in your region. Each Keyworker will provide one to one community support to women with a variety of needs simultaneously and will be co-located with partner organisations in their region. You will be expected to travel to Advance’s Head office in London for any organisational meetings and training, as and when required.
This post is not fixed hours or full time, work will be offered on an ad-hoc basis as and when required to meet the needs of the business.

You will be educated to degree level or have equivalent professional experience. You will have relevant knowledge of company and/or charity law, GDPR, and ESG reporting. You will have proven experience supporting Boards and Committees, in either the commercial or not for profit sectors. You will have a strong understanding of governance and statutory compliance requirements (Companies House and Charity Commission).
You will have experience of coordinating board papers, preparing agendas, and minute-taking. You will have the ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion. About the capital project
The Playhouse Capital Development project is progressing through RIBA stage 3 with a design freeze now implemented. Work will continue to bring together a final stage 3 report which will give clear costings and timeframes for the project, before submitting a formal planning application at the end of October 2025. We anticipate that following this we will seek final approval to progress to RIBA stage 4 and commit to a start date for mid 2027 and a schedule of works that will see the project completed before 2029.
About this role
This part time (average 3 days per week) fixed term role has been created to work cross organisation and to work collaboratively with a new-look Development team to secure additional funding to realise this transformational capital project.
The person will play a pivotal role in our capital fundraising campaign, delivering the fundraising strategy behind this transformative initiative. Working closely with the Assistant Director, Development & Partnerships, senior leadership, trustees, the development team and funders, the postholder will manage the key milestones towards a successful a capital campaign that will transform the theatre’s facilities and secure its long-term future.

You should have experience of fundraising for capital projects and a strong understanding of the requirements of time sensitive capital projects for cultural or charitable purposes. You will have experience of planning and delivering major fundraising events for capital targets e.g. gala dinners and auctions.

Our peer led crisis service in Bury provides peer support and practical support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis for adults experiencing a mental health crisis in our community. The service started in 2021 and has received year on year funding increases due to the success we have had. We are expanding our service so we now have a vacancy for a new Service Lead position within our team.
The Service Lead position is an exciting opportunity to join our well respected metal health charity and help shape this growing service. This is very much a lead from the front role, our service leads hold frontline responsibilities as well as their management responsibilities. You would be the 'go to' person on a day to day basis when on shift in the crisis service. You would be responsible for:
- Overseeing the day to day functioning of the service
- Line-managing, nurturing and developing your team
- Working with your fellow Crisis Service Leads, and the senior leadership team of the charity, to develop and evaluate the service
- Provide therapeutic face to face, and occasional telephone crisis support, through a mutual negotiation of the visitor’s needs, within the service.
We are looking to recruit someone with personal experience of mental distress as this is a peer role. The successful candidate will also have experience of working with people with mental health problems, which should include experience of working with people at risk of suicide and self-injury.
We are looking for someone with a great combination of skills. You will need to have proven experience of managing and leading a team or service, and great therapeutic skills, with the ability to support and develop a team. You'll be joining a friendly and supportive team which is committed to providing the best support possible.

This strategic role will spearhead the development of the Live Well offer in Whitefield, working alongside residents, local groups, and public services to shape a sustainable model that supports people in live well in their community.
This new role will lead the implementation of the Greater Manchester Live Well Programme in Bury, with a specific focus on developing and activating a Live Well offer within Whitefield. The postholder will help shape a local model that connects residents with inclusive health and wellbeing opportunities, enabling people to live well in their communities.
Main Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Work alongside cross-sector colleagues to support the activation of the Whitefield Live Well Centre and associated offer as a model of place-based wellbeing.
- Embed the programme within borough-wide strategic plans (e.g., Bury’s “Let’s Do It!” strategy, Locality Plan, VCSE and Public Sector Memorandum of Understanding). Represent Bury VCFA in regional Live Well conversations and GM forums as appropriate.
- Contribute to wider system change by identifying and sharing best practice from the Whitefield pilot across other Bury neighbourhoods.
- Support collaborative funding bids and joint commissioning models to support the Live Well spaces and places within the neighbourhood model of working.
Community and Partnerships
- Facilitate participatory approaches to co-produce and design the Live Well offer with communities and anchor organisations to ensure it is community led, culturally competent, and inclusive.
- Build trusted relationships across statutory, VCSE, and resident groups.
- Support local organisations in aligning services and activities with the aims of the Whitefield Live Well approach.
- Champion and lead inclusive engagement strategies to reach underrepresented groups
- Support the development of sustainable commissioning and funding approaches in collaboration partners, aligned to the Bury Model of Integrated Neighbourhood Working.
Operational Oversight
- Working alongside system partners to support the active delivery of Live Well activities and services in Whitefield, ensuring alignment with community needs and strategic priorities.
- Promote the Live Well offer through communications, events, and outreach in Whitefield and borough-wide.
- Work alongside our capacity building team to support the development of grassroots activity, volunteering, and peer-led wellbeing opportunities within the centre and surrounding area.
- Monitor budgets, track outcomes, and contribute to reporting and funding applications to support sustainability.

The role:
The Learning and Teaching Manager will play a key role in this team, managing and supporting Learning Coordinators to manage our projects. Instead, you will be responsible for developing our products, the strategy behind them, and ensuring that they are delivered to a high quality by the Learning Coordinators who manage them and freelance theatre practitioners engaged to deliver them. You will have management responsibility for 3 to 4 people and, with the support of the Senior Learning Manager, will help them to develop and deliver their best work.
You will also contribute to new projects by working closely with the Senior Learning Manager and Director of Education on bespoke requests from new partners (we get a lot of interesting organisations reaching out to us!) and helping to shape new mission-led initiatives, both in the UK and worldwide.

Financial Controller Role
The Diocese of Arundel & Brighton is a registered charity with care of 250 staff, 180 members of clergy, and many hundreds of volunteers. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the successful applicant will oversee a finance team of 5, including a qualified management accountant and two colleagues engaged in studies.
The finance team supports cloud-based accounting for 80 parishes; overseeing a significant number of transactions, submitting the monthly payroll to the outsourced payroll bureau, and providing the finance function for central operations based at The St Philip Howard Centre in Crawley.
The Financial Controller will be responsible for ;
- Producing statutory audited accounts and acting as the principal contact for external auditors.
- Report on finance matters to the quarterly Diocesan Finance Committee (DFC)
- Oversee the finance team in delivering the budget process and production of quarterly cashflow and budget forecasts, leading on tax compliance, VAT (for one subsidiary), and Gift Aid.
