Harris Hill is supporting the wonderful charity AfriKids, to find maternity cover for their current Philanthropy Manager post, starting ASAP for 9 months, possiibly longer. 

This role can be full time, or 4dpw, working hybrid based, mostly remote, with 1 day per month in the London office.

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, and part of a small but ambitious fundraising team, you will lead our relationships with many of AfriKids existing
and prospective major donors, as well as have oversight of our small individual giving and community & events programmes.
Your role will focus on building existing relationships, developing stewardship plans, identifying and researching prospects and forming proposals and appeals.
You’ll also play a key role in supporting the development of the team’s fundraising strategy, using your experience and knowledge of the fundraising landscape to
help us devise an ambitious but sustainable plan to expand and safeguard our
work into the future.
With an eye for detail and the creativity to identify new opportunities, you will bring the energy and drive to deliver results for children.

In short, this role will require you to:
Manage relationships with prospects, donors, an volunteers
Secure donation from 4 to 5 figures from major donors.
Prospect research
Prepare budgets and forecasts etc.
Assist arrange and launch cultivation events.

Experience:
A proven track record in successfully securing five and six figure
donations from high-net worth individuals
In-depth experience of major donor fundraising and knowledge of
best practice fundraising techniques
Experience in researching and developing prospecting pipelines
Experience in building excellent relationships with donors that
result in long-term partnerships
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the
ability to communicate passionately and persuasively while

As one of two PR Managers, you'll be the key point of contact for all PR communications, helping to develop and execute forward-thinking PR plans and strategies. This role will have a specific focus in identified towns/cities/places in England, working with young people and partners to create conditions for youth led place-based change, as part of the #iWill Movement’s Town and Cities of social action agenda.

The role will take the best practice from existing work in Ipswich, Manchester and Blackpool to create guiding principles for establishing local governance and partnerships that can support a Town or City of Youth Social action to be created.

The role will liaise with local stakeholders to support their funding bid to the #iwill Fund, ensuring young people are in the lead and sponsoring applications. The role will support and influence organisations in agreed Towns and Cities to sign the Power of Youth Charter and make strategic commitments to support young people through the #iwill Movement.

The role will also support local places to construct movement building and income generation plans to ensure ongoing investment from local stakeholders beyond the period of funding award. 

This role requires someone rooted in the practice of community based and youth led change, with experience in facilitation and the ability to manage complex partnerships and influence a variety of stakeholders, including through income generation activities.

In this key position, you will manage a diverse portfolio of high-value donors and collective fund accounts, overseeing financial administration, client communications, and compliance. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring funds are distributed efficiently and effectively to charities and social enterprises worldwide.

As a Relationship Manager you will:

• Manage and nurture relationships with High-Net-Worth donors and collective fund clients.
• Administer client finances including bookkeeping, reconciliation, cash flow, payments, and donation reporting.
• Ensure compliance with UK charity law and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with clients, intermediaries, grantees, and third-party service providers.
• Support external communications, events, and networking to grow the organisation’s profile.
• Maintain office systems and provide administrative support as needed.

To be successful, you must have experience:

• Experienced in delivering exceptional service to HNW/UHNW individuals, with a genuine passion for philanthropy.
• Knowledgeable about the charity sector and grant making processes.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical and compliance skills.
• An excellent communicator, confident in both verbal and written forms.
• Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with sensitive data.
• A collaborative team player with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.

Salary: Starting salary £35,000
