About the Role

As Finance Director, you will:

• Lead on financial strategy, governance, planning and reporting;

• Support the Partnership Board, Finance Subcommittee, Local Operating Boards and Executive Director with high-quality financial insights and planning;

• Oversee financial compliance and risk mitigation aligned with NHS, CQC and regulatory standards;

• Drive forward value for money, financial sustainability, and service efficiency;

• Support business development, contract negotiations, and wider corporate services including HR, IT, Estates, and Information Governance;

• Foster financial upskilling across clinical and non-clinical teams;

• Provide leadership in modernising systems, processes and reporting.

BIAS’s housing advice service supports members of the local Irish community and beyond with a range of complex housing issues, including homelessness, rehousing, tenancy sustainment and disrepair. We are looking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic person who has a background or demonstrable interest in advice, housing or homelessness to join our friendly advice team. Your role will involve contributing to the day-to-day running of BIAS’s advice service, providing specialist advice on housing via one-to-one client appointments, completing casework and advocating for positive outcomes for your clients.

You will need to have strong people skills and the ability to build good working relationships with colleagues and clients, excellent organisational skills and the ability to digest complex briefs. You will be required to manage an active caseload, ensuring that cases are appropriately actioned and recorded and that deadlines are met.

KEY WORK AREAS AND MAIN DUTIES

• Providing appropriate advice, information and practical help to clients, via in-person appointments, outreach visits, telephone, letter or email. Where necessary, advocating on behalf of clients in the appropriate forums.
• Ensuring that all casework records are kept up to date and completed clearly and effectively.
• Contributing to monitoring service delivery and recording client outcomes.
• Maintaining a good knowledge of other available services, and signposting or referring clients as needed.
• Participating in regular team file reviews and supervision sessions, and contributing to maintaining BIAS’s high-quality service in line with Advice Quality Standard (AQS) requirements.  
• Engaging positively and constructively with other service providers, including local authorities and housing providers, to maintain partnerships.
• Staying up to date with developments in housing legislation and identifying opportunities to effect positive change to housing policy, together with the Advice Manager.

These are the basic duties required of the Housing Adviser. However, it is necessary for all staff to be flexible and you may be required from time to time to perform other reasonable duties which are required for the efficient running of the organisation. We will also offer training opportunities to support your career development.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. This role will be based primarily in our advice offices in Willesden (Brent), with some outreach work in Haringey borough. There may be some options for flexible working (one day per week)

Our Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST)  groups are where group members who are living with dementia and other cognitive impairments can participate in meaningful and stimulating activities, proven to help maintain memory and mental function. Flynne’s Barn is a charity supporting young people living with cancer. We offer residential stays in the Lake District, bringing young people with a shared experience of cancer together to build community. During a stay we offer a range of outdoor and creative activities. We aim to provide the space for young visitors to relax, find friendship and to build confidence in a safe, supportive context. We also provide an online/telephone counselling service for young people and their families.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Young People’s Advocate. Suitable candidates must be experienced in advocating in a multi-agency setting to secure positive life outcomes for your clients and to making the service a success.  A Safe Lives qualification is desirable.

You will be self-sufficient, assertive and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills combined with empathy and sensitivity to build and develop supportive relationships with young people. You will maintain professional boundaries and adhere fully to Refuge’s safeguarding policies and procedures.

Job Title: Philanthropy Executive

Hours: 37 hours a week (Monday to Friday)

The Canal & River Trust is a charity entrusted with the care of over 2000 miles of canals, rivers, docks and reservoirs in England and Wales. Our waterways contribute to the health and well-being of local communities and economies, creating attractive and connected places to live, work, volunteer and spend leisure time. This is a pivotal moment in the Canal and River Trust history as a charity. With cuts to our statutory funding there is increased ambition and investment to grow income from other charitable sources. The Canal and River Trust is committed to growing its fundraised income and has developed ambitious targets for fundraising over the coming years.

We are currently recruiting for a Philanthropy Executive to join our Philanthropy & Partnerships team in the Fundraising Directorate. The Philanthropy Executive will develop relationships with Major Donors and Family Foundations through research, events, proposals, and excellent stewardship. Securing philanthropic income against target to further the work of the Canal & River Trust.

This role will be offered on a remote working basis, with a requirement to attend our main hub spaces for team working and collaborative meetings. Hubs we can assign to you include Leeds, Ellesmere Port, Burnley, Newark, Birmingham, Hatton, Milton Keynes, Gloucester & London.

Applicants will need to be able to attend face-to-face team meetings in Birmingham (once or twice a month). The regularity & flexibility of travel will be discussed further at interview stage.

We are recruiting a Cattery Carer & Cat Foster Coordinator who will share our compassion and commitment for animal welfare.

Working with staff and volunteers across the Home, you will have a hand in helping all the cats in our care, from feeding, cleaning, behaviourally assessing and socialising to rehoming. You will be responsible for organising cats in our care going into temporary foster homes. This can be physically and emotionally demanding but is also hugely rewarding; you can view some of our amazing rescue stories here.

Generally, you will:

• Assist in the provision of treatment to cats as advised by our veterinary staff.
• Organise the cat foster programme, matching suitable cats with cat foster volunteers and advise on cat behaviour.
• Organise the cat intake list, providing owners with advice and where appropriate admitting cats into the Cattery.
• Assist the Cat Adoption Officer with rehoming the cats under our care.
• Work flexibly in a team environment, often independently, to meet the specific needs of  the cats in our care by helping with their feeding, cleaning, enrichment and grooming.

To be successful in this role, you need:

– A strong understanding of cat behaviour and welfare

– Excellent customer service skills

– Experience in handling cats and caring for them

– A calm, compassionate, resilient and friendly manner
