About the role

As a Finance Business Partner, you will have responsibility for the leading the annual budget setting process for the organisation – circa. £8m.

You'll report to to the CEO, Executive Team (ET), and with the Finance and Commercial Director (FCD) support the preparation of papers for the Board on the numbers, with narrative, detail and analysis where appropriate.

The role will not line manage but will be expected to coach, mentor, collaborate with and contribute to the development of the other members of the finance team - we are, all of us, internal customer facing.

As Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for supporting budget holders to produce robust forecasts for the Management Accounts and to produce monthly Management Accounts with the Finance Manager.

We are looking for people to join our pool of freelancers, delivering our Transforming Spaces programme and helping us to deliver our ambitious project targets to ensure many more children and young people can have safe spaces to sleep, learn and play. We redecorate children's bedrooms, as well as local youth clubs and community centres which children rely on for support. The purpose of the programme is to provide children living in unsuitable accommodation with safe environments where they can sleep, learn, play, and grow.

Renovation projects are designed with support from The Childhood Trust’s pro bono interior design team at Katharine Pooley and completed in one day by a group of volunteers. There is growing demand from both communities who need our support and from volunteers who want to give their time to make a difference.

As a member of the Programmes team, the Programme Lead (Out There Award) will be responsible for the successful development and delivery of the programme across GB.

Key responsibilities

• Lead on the design, development and operational delivery of the Out There Award programme across GB.
• Create operational delivery plans – to identify milestones, monitor risks, resolve issues and manage resource requirements.
• Design and develop resources and processes to support programme implementation.

Position Overview: The Funder & Engagement Officer will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between funders and the charities we support. About the Role:

As the Foundation starts supporting its third cohort of Scholars, we need an organised, communications focused and proactive individual to grow our capacity in two significant areas of our work: our regular in-person events, and our recruitment and assessment process.

You will take the lead on, and quality assure, all Martingale events including our Welcome Dinner for new Scholars at the Royal Society, autumn assessment centres, regular training days for Masters and PhD students, our week-long summer residential retreats for Scholars, as well as events for current and potential funders and other stakeholders. You will also help secure high-profile speakers from relevant industries. While these events will be delivered in collaboration with other members of the team, you will bring your event management expertise to drive forward planning and delivery, and ensure these events are of the highest standards for Scholars and stakeholders.

You will also play a vital role in Martingale’s recruitment and admissions work. You will be line-managed by the Communications Manager and will support in the dissemination of Martingale recruitment materials to relevant universities, student societies, charities and learned societies, to ensure a high number of applications to the Martingale Scholarship programme. You will also work closely with the Programme Manager and Programme Officer to deliver well-run assessment centres and programme events across England and Scotland. You will also support the Communications Manager through producing high-quality content relating to Martingale events, to be distributed through our social media channels.

Key Responsibilities:

Event management

• Research and secure high-quality external venues for Martingale events, and work effectively with teams at those venues to ensure events are delivered within budget and to a high standard
• Liaise closely with colleagues on event purpose, scope, and intended outcomes, and plan effectively using Martingale’s CRM and other project management tools as necessary
• Be the key point of contact for all events, including briefing colleagues and externals to ensure roles and responsibilities are clear

Jigsaw4u is a charity with a proud 27 year history in supporting mental health and wellbeing in South West London. We are seeking a support worker who shares our values and person-centred approach, and who is passionate about helping adult carers (those with caring responsibilities).

This role presents an exellent opportunity to gain experience in, and knowledge of, social support work and mental health services, and would provide a great first step for those interested in building a career in this area.

The role is 4 days (28 hours) per week. Full time (35 hours per week) may be available if required.

Role in Context

Jigsaw4u’s Carers Peer Support Service supports adult carers in the London Borough of Merton through emotional support and access to information, opportunities and practical advice.

Working alongside other VCSE peer support providers in the Borough, other carer organisations or providers of statutory carers work, the post holder will work on improving pathways and coordinating services for adult carers experiencing mental health issues, often as a direct result of caring.  The post holder should have lived experience of being a carer, or of mental health challenges experienced by themselves or a close friend or family member

1. Purpose of the job

Be responsible in the designated area for:

• Delivery of one-to-one and group peer support sessions designed for and by adult carers
• Collecting data and reporting on direct work delivered with adult carers
• Collaborative working with the Merton Peer Support Partnership
• Developing and enhancing relationships with strategic partners
• Maintaining and striving to improve service delivery standards and effectiveness

1. Main duties

• Providing emotional and wellbeing support for carers through one-to-one, person-centred interventions
• Working flexibility to support carers aged 18 and over, who are caring for someone with mental health difficulties or experiencing mental health issues, often as a direct result of caring
• Empower and support carers to become involved in local Mental Health developments, particularly within SWLSTG
• Encourage and assist the uptake of Carers Assessments and the ability of carers and their families to assess their own needs to develop solutions and manage resources
• Assist carers in accessing opportunities for breaks from caring through activities within the partner organisations and external agencies
• Delivering time-limited, outcome-focused interventions to support personal outcomes so carers feel emotionally and practically supported
• Group-based support to address intended specific outcomes
• Encouraging access to local services to promote community inclusion and connectedness, enabling sustainable recovery and support
• Practical support to help carers access the right services and support based on needs, preferences, and the options available
• Evaluation of interventions provided through use of Outcomes Star and other
• agreed measurement tools
• To assist the Service Manager in creating monitoring reports
• To attend professional/monitoring meetings if required

The roles are:

01. Development Officer

The Development Officer will play a vital role in supporting the progress of CVS Brent’s Development and Funding strategy. Our mission through this role is to find stability and encourage growth, with strong partnerships across sectors that support the delivery of exceptional VCSE services.  The development officer will be key to developing these partnerships.

Hours: 21pw * 26 weeks

Rate: £30ph (self employed basis)

02. Funding Officer

The Funding Officer will play a vital role in supporting the development of the charity’s funding strategy. Our mission through this role is to find stability and encourage growth. This role is critical in helping raise essential funds, with a target being securing funds from grants philanthropic organizations and other income within the contract period.

Hours: 21pw * 26 weeks

Rate: £30ph (self employed basis)

In alignment with SPANA's 2023-2027 strategy and the Global Programmes Department 2025 business plan, the Programme Quality and Delivery (PQD) team is focused on the development of a high quality, innovative portfolio that delivers immediate and lasting change for working animals. 

We are looking for an experienced senior consultant to provide interim strategic support and continuity to our PQD team during a transitional period whilst we recruit for a permanent Head of PQD. 

This is an interim consultancy role focused on delivering key outcomes, offering expert guidance, and ensuring ongoing progress against departmental priorities. The consultant will work closely with the Director of Global Programmes and other team members to contribute to shaping the team’s direction. 

The consultant will be expected to: 

• Provide strategic oversight and guidance across the team’s work; 

• Ensure continued focus on key outcomes and monitor progress; 

• Work with the director of Global Programmes to ensure progress in alignment with SPANA’s strategy and the Global Programmes Department Business Plan.

Please note that this is an interim consultancy assignment and not a salaried role. The consultant will be engaged on a self-employed basis or via a limited company, with a clear scope of work and deliverables. There is a separate recruitment process for the permanent Head of PQD, and consultants engaged on the interim assignment are welcome to apply for the permanent position should they wish to be considered.

Bereavement Support Services Lead (Digital). This is a rewarding and key role in the Bereavement Support Services team. The team provides a wide range of services, including the Helpline, Online Community, memory making, and print materials. The aim of this post is to provide operational and line management so that the BSS team can provide consistent, high-quality emotional support to bereaved families who seek support from Sands, as well as supervising the work of the Bereavement Support Officers on the frontline. As our digital support continues to grow and develop, we are looking for someone to support and inspire the team in this expanding area, working closely with Sands’ Bereavement Support Digital Coordinator. The Bereavement Support Services Team offers 1-2-1 support via telephone, email and other digital channels, and is usually open from 10-3 from Monday to Friday and 6-9pm from Tuesday to Thursday with occasional extended opening hours. Support is also available through digital channels; our Online Community, direct messenger on Instagram and Facebook and various closed groups on Facebook which need to be regularly monitored and moderated to provide a safe, user-led space accessible to all. In future a wider range of channels may be used. There are three Bereavement Support Leads (BSLs) including this post holder, and between them they are expected to cover all regular opening hours on a rota basis. Each shift will start 30 minutes before the helpline opens and end 30 minutes after the helpline closes, and BSLs will divide up the week in order to be present during shifts and ensure at least one BSL or the Head of BSS is available to the team 9am-4pm Monday to Friday and 5.30pm-9.30pm Tuesday to Thursday for safeguarding and general support. The role will be split between operational management of the BSS team, line management of BSSOs, supporting and contributing to other strands of bereavement support work, as well as some direct work on all of the support channels.
