Summary

Greenhouse is a national Church of England programme that supports churches to grow new disciples by starting new worshipping communities. The programme works with and through dioceses to support small teams from parishes and other contexts to grow their church.

Greenhouse is moving into the Lay Ministries Team for the next three years, and we are looking for someone to lead this programme within the team. Through Greenhouse we aim to continue to support parishes to grow new worshipping communities through local teams that include confident lay leaders. This role requires someone who can lead this work at a strategic level as well as holding responsibility for the national implementation of Greenhouse as it moves into a new season.

This work supports the aim of the Church of England's Vision & Strategy, of becoming a Church where mixed ecology is the norm, where every person in England has access to an enriching and compelling community of faith.

Sitting within the Ministry Development Team, the national Lay Ministries Team champions and supports the wide range of lay ministries across the Church of England, including ministry with children, young people and their families.

We work with dioceses and other partners to identify and share best practice, grow new vocations and ensure lay ministers are equipped to flourish and thrive.

It's an exciting time for the Lay Ministries Team as our work expands and develops, building on existing success and piloting work in new areas.

• This is a fixed term role for 3 years.
• This post has attached to it an occupational requirement under the 2010 Equality Act, Part 1, Schedule 9. Therefore the person appointed will need to be of Christian faith.
• This role is suitable for hybrid working. It will require some travel to events and meetings including with the lay ministries team in London.

The Grants Officer will support the Senior Manager to develop and implement monitoring and reporting
processes across the Foundation’s grant-giving activities. To be successful in the role, you must have
excellent knowledge of results-based monitoring and reporting, demonstrate strong organisational and
administrative skills, and ideally have experience working with colleagues from different cultural
backgrounds.

The initial focus of the role will be monitoring and reporting in relation to the implementation of a Big 6
EU funded programme, the Youth Empowerment Fund (YEF). This programme focuses on supporting
youth-led initiatives, giving young people the means to be effective agents of change. The YEF is global
in its reach but will focus on supporting local solutions and grassroots initiatives that young people
develop on the ground. The Officer will play a key role in supporting the Senior Manager to maintain and
grow Big 6 advocacy and partnerships for the short and long-term. This role will also work closely with
colleagues from the Operations and Finance team to ensure accurate information is delivered to key
stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities 

Youth Empowerment Fund (60%):

• Support the monitoring and reporting of the EU funded YEF programme. Including coordinationwithin the IAF and with the Big 6 designated leads.
• Communicating with and activating networks of national organizations to participate in the YEF,including sharing opportunities to take part in Big 6 advocacy activities and applying for youthled solutions open-call Local Solutions grants.
• Issuing of grants to successful national organizations and monitoring and evaluation, including regular reporting on outcomes and impact of national projects to the YEF project team.
• Sharing success stories from the YEF to support the Big 6 communication, storytelling and creative reporting efforts.

Other Grant based support (40%):

• Oversee grant-giving financial processes, creating and issuing of grant payments.
• Support the Senior Operations Manager with the reporting of grant activities for Senior Management and various stakeholders.
• Support the ongoing development of other Foundation grant reporting efforts as required.
• Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required for the successful delivery of the Foundation’s business objectives.

We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. Job Purpose:

The Family Advocate will provide trauma-informed specialist support to women in the community and in prison who are at risk of losing custody of their children/have already experienced child removal. This role will also upskill colleagues, and work with Children’s Social Care teams to improve the response to women impacted by the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibility Areas 

1.      Provide high-quality, trauma-responsive support to women in contact with the criminal justice system, who are at risk of experiencing/have experienced child removal. 

2.      Provide expert advice and support to colleagues, including upskilling through information and training sessions on Children’s Social Care and family court processes, and increase Children's Social Care teams' knowledge and understanding on women in the criminal justice system.   

3.      Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders, such as Children’s Social Care, probation, prison, to ensure a collaborative approach to women’s needs. 

4.      Monitor case management systems to ensure accurate and timely data recording, aligning with contract KPIs and WIP policies.

Purpose

The Programme Officer will be responsible for supporting the effective implementation of project delivery activities across our portfolio, predominantly in Africa, Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East. The post holder will support project delivery, ensuring quality expectations (internal and client), delivering within the scope and budgeted resources of projects, and in line with project timelines. Main Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Programme Officer include the following:

1. Project Support

• Provide support to Programme Managers in the delivery of projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and scope and comply with client contracts
• Take on the project management of assigned select projects within a determined budget/complexity threshold, ensuring that they are delivered to time and quality
• Set-up and monitor project workplans, including change requests ensuring that approvals are formally recorded and filed
• Manage day-to-day relationships with delivery partners and internal team(s) and build a solid understanding of delivery needs and timelines across projects
• Monitor and support timely client and consultant billing and invoices attached to delivery
• Support onboarding of consultants for new projects, including due diligence checks and contract preparation based on set templates
• Ensure project management software and tools are accurate and kept up to date for allocated projects
• Provide timely responses to client queries and alert the Senior Project Manager of any potential risks
• Lead duty of care and travel planning for staff and consultants, working alongside administrative officers
• Liaise closely with technical colleagues and Project Managers on project support needs.

2. Project Financial Management

• Monitor project budget performance, capturing variances and liaising with the Finance Team and Senior Programme Manager
• Monitor and support the processing of consultants’ expenses/fees against contracts and client invoices against contracts.
• Make recommendations to ensure financial outcomes are met with respect to time, quality and cost, and provide early warning of project overspend
• Prepare internal project update reporting including finances and resourcing using required management tools.

3. Organisational Support and Business Development

• Provide support in strengthening policies, procedures, and management tools for Development Pathways
• Coordinate with wider project teams to ensure technical capacity is well planned across Development Pathways’ portfolio of projects
• Signpost colleagues to relevant project management tools and processes, when required
• Support project closure processes as required, capturing and sharing lessons internally
• Provide ad hoc input to evolving organisational requirements as directed by senior members
• Assist with the identification and monitoring of business opportunities in donor markets, as requested
• Update SharePoint and ensure project data sheets are developed and up to date to facilitate bids for tenders
• Collate and share project information to support the Business Development and Communications department.

We are now recruiting for a Programme Coordinator for our schools in Newcastle.

• The Newcastle Programme Coordinator oversees a caseload of up to seven partner schools. They manage the logistics and organisation of each school’s tutoring programme, working closely with the schools and pupils and managing the pool of volunteer tutors. Duties and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Research grant management

• Managing the delivery of GOSH Charity’s response-mode funding schemes, including our National Research Project Grant and ‘Lift Off’ pilot study funding call and others.
• Supporting potential applicants via email, phone or in person to ensure we receive high quality grant applications. 
• Processing, reviewing and validating grant applications. 
• Leading the peer review process using our Grant Management System.
• Project managing the delivery of the Research Assessment Panel.
• Supporting the input of patient and public voice, to ensure they’re built into our research funding decision making. 

Committee management

• Providing operational and secretariat support to the Research Assessment Panel and Lift Off Scientific Assessment Panels, and other expert research review panels as required.
• Managing agendas and meeting logistics, including face to face meetings as they are arranged.
• Preparing papers and reports, and collating these from across the team for delivery to the Committee in good time.
• Preparing high quality minutes that provide a clear record of discussions, decisions, and actions, and disseminating these following internal and Chair approval.
• Support the regular review of the Committee membership and tenure.
• Evaluating and recommending improvement and applying sector best practice to the Committee operations.
• Being a first point of call for Committee members, supporting them to deliver their role and ensuring they have a good experience working with GOSH Charity

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

We’re here to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to change things.

In recent years, violent crime involving children has increased. This is a tragedy. Every child is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment that exists to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We will achieve this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. A big part of the movement that we need to build is in the world of health. We need to inspire and connect with health leaders across Integrated Care Services (ICBs), Local Health Boards (LHBs), Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and other relevant parts of the system. We need to spread what works and make our country safer for some of our most vulnerable children. We are looking for someone to lead on making this happen.

Key Responsibilities

We are making progress building the evidence of what works within and around health services to reduce violence. But the big risk is that nothing changes. That’s where you come in. Your role is to identify the best way to make change happen within relevant health services. Your main responsibilities will be ensuring that:

We have great relationships with the people who can make change happen.

This will include:

• Developing great relationships with senior policy makers, sector leaders and experts, including representing YEF in external meetings and speaking at events.
• Build a Strategic Advisory Board of leading experts across the health sector and keep members onside and excited about our work.

We deliver the health system recommendations. 

This will include:

• Helping to identify the right recommendations at a system level (such as changes in policy, regulation, inspection, funding, or guidance) that make it more likely highly vulnerable children get access to the right support at the right time.
• Creating and delivering a plan to deliver the health system reforms, working closely with leaders to make the change happen.
• Tracking progress carefully, being thoughtful and creative about when and how to change the plan. 

We work out the most effective ways to connect people with the evidence, then making those things happen.

This will include:

• Helping health leaders change how they plan or provide services to better protect children from violence, based on our Practice Guidance.
• You can read our first guidance for school, college, and alternative provision leaders here.
• Creating a plan to get people to follow our guidance, using what we know about how they think and behave.
• Continuously testing and improving our approach to get better results.

First-hand knowledge of the system that supports highly vulnerable children, particularly those at risk of or involved in violence. This includes children with conditions such as conduct disorder, psychosis, substance use disorder, ADHD, developmental language disorder, and traumatic brain injury. You understand the barriers these children face and what it takes to get them the right support.

While it’s not a criterion, we are especially interested to hear from applicants who have lived experience of violence affecting young people.

Hybrid Working

We are recruiting a Digital Fundraising Assistant to assist in the delivery of our growing virtual events programme. 

This is an exciting new role which involves supporting delivery of a wide range of virtual events at Sands, in order to grow our fundraising income.  The role includes increasing Sands’ online presence across a range of channels through excellent stewardship of large audiences who are both warm and new supporters. 

You will ensure delivery of a world class supporter experience using an omnichannel approach, helping our supporters reach and exceed their fundraising targets.

Working with the Digital Fundraising Manager, you will monitor the everchanging virtual challenge environment and consider how best to adapt our activities in order to achieve financial targets and remain innovative and a leader within the sector.

As our Dementia Coordinator, you’ll lead the development and coordination of dementia-focused befriending activities, working closely with volunteers, carers, and local partners. Your work will help create a supportive, connected community where people living with dementia feel valued and engaged.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the launch of a new Dementia Information Hub at The Creighton Centre, providing advice, signposting, and referrals alongside dementia healthcare professionals.

• Build strong partnerships with local dementia services across health, social care, and the voluntary sector.

• Develop inclusive, engaging activities like dance therapy and gardening clubs to complement existing befriending programmes.

• Support the recruitment and training of a dedicated team of up to 15 Dementia Ambassadors and 50 home befriending volunteers.

• Coordinate up to 30 home and care home befriending matches in the first year, increasing to 50 in subsequent years, focusing on meaningful sensory and physical activities.
