We are opening our first Youth Hub in Middlesbrough this summer. It is our intention to deliver open access youth services with a particular focus around food education, employment and food aid, by creating a training kitchen and cafe.

What will you be doing?

Ahead of the KFC Youth Foundation Hub opening you will be feet on the ground in Middlesbrough during the development of the Youth Hub to opening, supporting with the recruitment of youth workers and hub employees, engaging and recruiting young people and co-designing opening programming and the opening of the hub.

Service Delivery & Partnership

• Responsible for the management and preparation(s) of programme delivery - play and youth work and early help provision onsite, that meets the needs of children, young people and families including through direct and partnership delivery with third sector providers.
• Develop and maintain the support needed for a varied 7-day programme of term-time and holiday youth provision (open access and targeted); inclusive of sports, arts, cultural and recreational activity that promotes the development of physical and emotional well-being
• You will have a local knowledge and be able to develop a meaningful dialogue with children, young people and families, with the purpose of assessing their needs and creating services to meet them.
• Establish an inclusive culture within the youth hub; where all are welcome and supported to participate, and where respect, honesty, and trust enables children and young people to thrive.
• Develop initiatives and partnerships to build strong links with the local community and support the growth of positive perceptions of children, young people and their families.
• Implementing methods for observable or measurable indicators of success.
• Organise regular outreach to facilitate the involvement of children, young people from across the ward and borough; targeting those who have had little contact with services and may be hard to engage.
• Work with other key agencies to manage risk.

Leadership

• Ensure all staff are aware of practice standards, expectations and timescales, and establishing a culture of responsibility and accountability building trust, good morale and teamwork.
• Manage service area delivery in a manner that promotes equality of opportunity and collaborative working; ensuring that all youth workers and hub employees are aware of the requirement to deliver non-discriminatory services and to promote greater equity for disadvantaged groups.
• Consistently promote and apply the KFCYF policies and standards in managing employee sickness absence, unsatisfactory performance, conduct, discipline, and grievances, and customer complaints according to the Foundation’s policies.
• Support the recruitment and induction of staff and carrying out regular supervision and annual performance appraisals for line reports.
• Take responsibility for staff timetables, rotas, and annual leave; arranging and authorising any necessary staff cover that may be required.
• Take authority for expenditure for events and activities within established KFCYF financial processes and accounting for all budget spending as required.
• Ensure that KFCYF policy and procedures for health and safety are adhered to and that all equipment is maintained, taking action as necessary to ensure compliance.
• Ensure risk assessments are carried out for the premises, activities and services and updated as and when necessary.
• Ensure regular health and safety audits are carried out and that any areas of non-compliance are quickly rectified.

Administration

• Oversee the keeping of accurate and up to date records of attendance data and other management information as required.
• Maintain records of interventions; keeping files current, well organised, and able to provide concise and accurate information for the Foundation on outcomes achieved.
• Prepare and present quarterly reports for the review of the Foundation Manager/ Trustees

The post holder will coordinate and provide information-based sexual health outreach services, testing and brief HIV prevention interventions in commercial venues and at events across London. Interventions will predominantly target people who may be at higher risk of HIV and STI acquisition, particularly amongst higher prevalence communities such as Gay, Bisexual and Men who have Sex with Men (GBMSM), Black African and Trans communities.  This role will involve working within sex on premises venues frequented by GBMSM and would therefore be best suited to someone from that community. Programme

The post holder will be a member of the GMI Partnership team, based at METRO, working closely with their counterparts at other GMI partner agencies (Positive East and Spectra). The partnership is the main provider of the London HIV Prevention Programme, a sexual health and HIV testing outreach programme for GBMSM, across the capital. The post holder will be responsible for liaising directly with other contract partners and being a main point of contact for various outreach venue providers.  The worker will form part of the METRO HIV Domain and will support the overall HIV prevention services provided by the charity.

About you

You will have experience of working with people who have faced severe and multiple exclusion and who may have complex needs; with an understanding of the needs of people who have been homeless for long periods of time. You will be willing and able to provide practical assistance with moving into and maintaining a home – including direct help where necessary with tasks such as shopping, budgeting, cooking, and cleaning. 

You will also have a knowledge of Housing First and Housing Led approaches and the ability to work within a psychologically informed approach.

Last year we saw a 133% growth in the numbers of young people facing homelessness coming through our doors. Now, nearly half of them are - or recently have been - sleeping rough and with the numbers of young rough sleepers in the capital growing at an alarming rate, New Horizon Youth Centre has had to take decisive action to unlock support and housing for this group. The Head of Services - Rough Sleeping is a brand-new role for the organisation and will lead on developing a new internal strategy for young people facing rough sleeping, as well as holding operational oversight of our established youth-specific street outreach function and emergency accommodation hub, both of which are unique in London. You will need to be strategic in approach and an excellent relationship builder. You will act as our lead colleague on relationships with the Greater London Authority and London Councils’ rough sleeping teams, working with them to ensure our learning and insights inform policy and ultimately open up access to emergency support for those under 25. Alongside this you will need a keen eye for operational detail, have experience of delivering homelessness services, and be passionate about piloting new solutions to prevent homelessness among young people. This post is an exciting opportunity to work with Nottingham City’s PCN 8 (Clifton and Meadows).. Using the Macmillan Electronic Holistic Needs Assessment to support Cancer Care Reviews will ensure patients have access to the right support for all their non-clinical needs. The post will also work on the preventative agenda, supporting uptake of cancer screening across the PCNs and supporting the practices within the PCNs to deliver their improvement plan around early diagnosis of cancer. (in line with NHS England and NHS Improvement -  QOF Quality Improvement domain 20/21 – Early diagnosis of cancer).

 You will work in partnership with GP surgeries to give non-medical support that maximises patients’ wellbeing through their Cancer journey. The primary role is to do Cancer Care Reviews, with access to each surgery’s IT systems to track patient lists, document, and communicate with practice staff.
