What you’ll be doing? 

You will be part of the Neighbourhood and Wellbeing Team working in the North and South of the borough. You’ll be responsible for:

• Provide personalised brief intervention and social prescribing support to individuals, their families and carers.

• Meet clients on a one-to-one basis, making home visits where appropriate and allowing clients the time and space to discuss ‘what matters to me.

• Provide person-centred support to enable clients to identify their health and wellbeing needs and goals. Co-produce support plans with clients to discuss what’s important, where they would like to be in the future and how we can support them to achieve this. 

• Manage and prioritise a caseload to ensure clients' needs, priorities and urgent support are met.

• Have a keen interest in the local area to identify gaps in services or community needs and to work with your Neighbourhood team, local service providers and the local community to address these.

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to help us realise our plans to secure a menu of commercial contracts that all of our 175+ member library services can choose to benefit from, according to the skills and assets of their service, their focus and strategy and of course the needs of their communities.

Our Commercial Team

Currently we hold a single commercial contract worth around £3m per year delivered through 12 libraries. Our aim is to reach a point where we have a menu of commercial contracts that all of our 175+ member library services can choose to benefit from according to the skills and assets of their service, their focus and strategy and of course the needs of their communities.

In the current funding climate for local authorities and local government services, these contracts are not just about the income and the services they can provide, but about demonstrating nationally the power of the library sector, and how national services can be delivered locally through library services and the communities they serve.

This is a long term aim of ours – we are seeking to build the commercial team with this role and while it is initially a 12 month contract, our hope is that with the role in place we can generate the income to sustain and build on it.

Main purpose of role: 

• Support the delivery of commercial projects across the library sector
• Lead the bidding process for new contracts and services
• Manage the mobilisation and setup of contracts and services
• Manage the ongoing delivery of commercial contracts and services including management reporting and contract / service optimisation to increase benefit to the libraries and sector
• Support the development of commercial skills and capacity across the library sector
• Contribute to the growing commercial awareness and understanding within the organisation, its partners and its members.

Overall Purpose of the Corporate Partnernersips and Philanthropy Manager

The Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager is an exciting new role, joining our small and expanding fundraising team.

Your Day-to-Day

As Service Manager, you’ll:
• Establish and embed the Advice Triage (OFD) model for public launch in March 2026
• Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team including triage workers, referrals staff, and reception
• Develop triage protocols, safeguarding and referral procedures, and escalation frameworks
• Oversee inbound query management across all contact channels
• Coordinate internal and external referral pathways across Norwood and key partners
• Manage the design and population of an online service directory
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with schools, synagogues, charities and LA/NHS services

• Oversee the development and rollout of a CRM system

Qualifications, Training and Experience

Essential:

• Relevant degree in Social Work, Health, Education, or Management; And/or Leadership or project management qualification
• 3+ years’ experience in social care, education, or advice services
• Proven ability to lead services, manage teams, and deliver change
• Strong knowledge of referral systems across the voluntary and statutory sectors
• Sound safeguarding knowledge
• Excellent stakeholder, communication and CRM skills

Desirable:

• Knowledge of the Jewish community and culturally specific services
• Experience setting up a helpline, triage service or call centre
• Familiarity with neurodivergent support needs and transitions
• Experience developing service directories or digital tools

About the Role

We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Therapy Service Manager (Job Share) to co-lead our passionate therapy team at Headway East London. We are looking for a Family Recruitment Officer, well-organised, with bags of energy and a sense of fun, to join our team to connect families with our home-based reading projects, helping to grow our reach and deepen our impact in under-resourced communities across London.

Working as part of the Project Team, you’ll support strategic and hands-on efforts to bring our reading programme to those who need it most. From planning outreach campaigns to developing community partnerships and responding to enquiries, your work will ensure more children can benefit from regular reading sessions with our volunteers.

This is a new part-time role, with a hybrid working pattern and occasional evening or weekend commitments, ideal for someone with experience in outreach, community engagement, or family support services.
