Working with our community of brain injury survivors, volunteers and staff, you will co-produce content that shares our stories, increases awareness and broadens our reach. 

You’ll play a central role in promoting our services and amplifying the voices of our members.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Marketing & Communications Delivery

• Deliver and support the implementation of our communications and marketing strategy across all channels (digital and print.

• Lead on a regular calendar of activity across social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, BlueSky, YouTube) to maintain and grow a network of online supporters.

• Lead on maintaining and developing content for the Headway East London website (using WordPress and Elementor), including blog posts, service pages and events.

Community & Co-Production

• Work with our members (services users - people with brain injury), volunteers and staff to co-create content that reflects their voices and experiences.
• Ensure accessibility is embedded in all communications, including use of plain English, inclusive visuals, and a variety of formats.
• Engage the wider Headway East London community in developing campaigns, storytelling, and communications planning.

 Campaigns, Partnerships & Income Generation

• Support fundraising and development teams to plan and deliver digital campaigns that increase donations, engagement and awareness.

• Explore opportunities for brand development, partnerships and earned media that align with our values and strategic priorities.

• Maintain and strengthen relationships with local and national media outlets and stakeholders

Internal Communications

• Support internal communication needs across the organisation, helping teams stay informed and connected across multiple sites.
• Help develop internal resources and templates that enable teams to produce consistent, values-led communications.

Salary: £33,220 - £38,370 per annum if based in London. £30,645 -£35,795 per annum if based in Manchester, Nottingham, Newcastle or Bristol. ROLE SUMMARY

This is a great opportunity for a motivated and ambitious fundraiser with experience in trusts, foundations and/or corporate fundraising to join upReach as we deliver our three-year strategy (2024–2027). The successful candidate will contribute to the growth of upReach through the development and stewardship of relationships with trusts, foundations, and corporate partners, and by helping secure five and six figure grants and gifts.

Reporting to the Senior Fundraising Manager, this role will manage a portfolio of funders and help the wider team to meet income targets. You will work collaboratively across the organisation including the delivery and impact teams, finance, partnerships, and  Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Working with stakeholders (internal and external)

• Develop and maintain positive, mutually beneficial relationships with key external contacts, including funders and volunteers.

• Champion and model a culture of outstanding relationship management. 

• Make the fundraising ‘ask’ as and when appropriate.

• Respond promptly to requests for information and action from supporters. 

• Report and disseminate the key issues to emerge from supporter feedback.

Fundraising

• Independently manage a portfolio of charitable trusts & foundations, and corporate supporters, giving at the five and six figure level. Steward these relationships delivering the highest levels of donor care. 

• Research and identify potential new funding opportunities to build the team’s pipeline. 

• Lead on the cultivation of your own pipeline of new funders, working creatively to find opportunities to engage organisations with our work. 

• Develop compelling, comprehensive funding proposals for trusts & foundations and companies, to renew existing partnerships and secure funding from new organisations. 

• Work closely with colleagues in the Data & Impact and Programmes team to prepare and write donor reports and other impact communications. 

• Contribute to the smooth delivery of philanthropic corporate partnerships including employee engagement, staff fundraising activities and volunteering.

• Prepare and thoroughly brief senior colleagues ahead of meetings with potential and existing funders. 

Financial

• Contribute to team fundraising income target (circa £2m) in line with the overarching strategy.

• Help track progress against income targets and report on performance regularly to the fundraising team.

• Contribute to the management of budgets and assist in preparing forecasts and annual plans.

• Flag risks or opportunities that may affect income generation to senior team members.

Team Support and Collaboration

• Manage team members on our graduate programme (rotatees) on fundraising projects as required.

• Play a proactive role in facilitating a positive, collaborative and high-performing fundraising team culture.

• Attend and contribute to regular team meetings and planning sessions.

• Work with teams across the organisation to ensure fundraising plans align with organisational needs and priorities.

Systems and Processes

• Maintain accurate and up to date records on the CRM to enable effective donor, supporter, supplier and volunteer relationship management. 

• Comply with the organisation’s data protection obligations, charity law and other legal requirements.

Other

• Continue to develop fundraising skills and knowledge, including keeping up to date with best practice and sector trends.

• Carry out additional fundraising and administrative tasks as needed to help the team.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful, it is anticipated that you will have experience working in a fundraising role within a charity or similar environment. The ideal candidate should display these skills: 

• Significant experience working in a fundraising or similar role within a charity or nonprofit setting, to include writing funding proposals and stewardship reports. 

• Knowledge of high value fundraising techniques including a clear understanding of prospecting, cultivating, securing and managing partnerships.

• Strong communication and storytelling skills, both written and oral, with the ability to turn complex ideas into concise and effective cases for support.

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail 

• Able to manage a varied workload and balance conflicting priorities to meet deadlines.

• Confidence working independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

• Ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Some familiarity with data protection, GDPR and good practice in donor stewardship.

• A desire to learn, grow and develop a career in fundraising.

• A strong alignment with upReach’s mission and a passion for tackling barriers to social mobility.

About the role

This is a hands-on, people-focused role at the heart of our programme delivery. As Programme Manager, you’ll work closely with communities, colleagues, volunteers, and partners to co-create and deliver meaningful programmes that centre on women’s voices and lived experience.

You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of projects — from design and facilitation through to coordination, evaluation, and reporting. The role involves a high level of collaboration across departments and with external partners, as well as ongoing work with participants and volunteers to ensure our programmes are inclusive, responsive, and impactful.

You’ll be at the forefront of delivery: holding safe, welcoming spaces; supporting others to take on facilitation roles; and helping build confidence and leadership among women involved in our work. At the same time, you’ll ensure strong systems, clear communication, and smooth operations across every stage of a programme — including the coordination of all logistics, administration, and communications needed to make programme delivery run effectively. As the work is people-focused and often deeply personal, you’ll need to feel confident navigating sensitive conversations, responding to complex situations with care, and creating space for trust and honesty.

This role would suit someone grounded in values that centre lived experience, challenge inequality, and uplift women’s voices — someone who is passionate about working alongside women, committed to social justice, and energised by collaboration, care, and collective learning.

Key responsibilities

Programme & Project leadership

· Support & lead on the design, development and delivery of new and existing programmes and events aligned with the charity’s strategic objectives

· Work closely with Head of Programmes and other departments to translate strategy into bold, creative actions that centre women's voices and lived experience

· Work closely with Head of Programmes and other departments to embed co-production principles across all programme initiatives/ co-produce initiatives with participants and stakeholders, ensuring relevance and impact.

People Management

· Line manage staff, volunteers and project facilitators, providing clear expectations, supportive supervision, and development opportunities.

· Create a culture that is inclusive, supportive, and inspiring – empowering others to lead and grow.

· Support the wellbeing of all staff and volunteers, with an understanding of the specific health experiences and barriers faced by women.

Funding & Finance

· Develop and monitor programme budgets and work with the Head of Programmes to report against spend.

· Work with SLT to support with research and applications for funding opportunities to support programme delivery and financial sustainability.

· Manage relationships with funders and corporate partners, reporting on outcomes and impact.

Policy, Safeguarding & Organisational Development

• Be an active contributor to the charity’s safeguarding team, playing a role in creating safe, inclusive spaces for all participants and staff.
• Support the implementation of all organisational policies — not only by adhering to them but by actively identifying areas for improvement, sharing feedback, and contributing to policy development.
• Stay up to date with best practice in safeguarding, boundaries, mental health support, and inclusive, trauma-informed practice, and help ensure these are embedded in programme delivery and team culture.

Data Protection, administration and programme coordination

• Oversee the secure collection and storage of data, ensuring full compliance with GDPR.
• Implement and manage CRM systems relevant to programme delivery.
• Ensure the smooth, effective and compliant delivery of all programmes, activities, and events, with a strong focus on quality, coordination, and attention to detail.
• Act as a key contact for programme/project enquiries and coordinate logistics such as booking facilitators, venues, equipment, and refreshments.
• Liaise with participants, facilitators, and volunteers before, during and after programme delivery to ensure a seamless and supportive experience.
• Ensure all relevant paperwork and digital documentation — including EDI monitoring forms, feedback, and volunteer information — is completed, stored securely, and remains compliant with GDPR and organisational standards.
• Manage relationships with external facilitators, including onboarding, contracts, payment processing, and quality assurance.
• Coordinate across departments (e.g. marketing, community engagement, operations) to ensure strong internal communication and the effective promotion and delivery of all programmes.
• Maintain accurate programme records, track progress against plans, and ensure that systems are in place for smooth programme operations.

• Regularly review EDI data and work with the team to remove barriers to participation.

About the job

The Area Manager (AM) is responsible for the coordination, management, development, and representation of DRC programming in the North or South of Yemen. S/he will oversee program implementation according to DRC strategies in Yemen and ensure that operations are implemented within DRC’s regulations, procedures, guidelines, and strategy; enable a productive and accountable relationship with beneficiaries, communities’ leaders/representatives, relevant governmental authorities, regional coordination teams (RCTs), sub-national clusters, donors, national and International NGOs and UN Agencies.  The AM is DRC’s primary representative with relevant actors in the area of responsibility; s/he is the line manager for all staff with area responsibilities and s/he is responsible for ensuring a result-oriented team. The incumbent will also ensure a safe environment for DRC staff, beneficiaries and assets through a proactive-acceptance approach using DRC’s security framework. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Representation and Coordination  

• Participate in SMT representing Area of Responsibility (AOR)
• Represents all aspects of programs and operations and has overall accountability for their AOR 
• Act as the primary DRC representative at the area level and actively participate in all relevant fora/meetings
• Foster relationships with Government authorities and other relevant stakeholders in the area of operation
• Develop, implement, and regularly revise a DRC engagement strategy aligned to the National Strategy  
• In coordination with the CD, Head of Program, and Advocacy advisor ensure that the DRC program in the area contributes to DRC´s advocacy efforts, nationally, regionally, and internationally. 
• Maintain close working relationships with donors, national and international organizations, and local counterparts.

•  Line manages area support and program staff ensuring inter-department co-ordination; 
• Enable an effective team through result-oriented management systems, providing leadership, on-job capacity building and designing staff development strategies.
• Ensure detailed capacity building plan for staff is in place and regularly followed up on;
• Closely coordinate with the senior management team and sector coordinators ensuring regular information flows, adherence to sector strategies, proposal development processes and safety regulations.

Programme development  

•  Lead the process of adapting DRC national strategy to the local context and circumstances in coordination with the Head of Programme and Technical Coordinators
• Support in developing DRC’s program in the area of operation and provide technical and context-specific input for fundraising efforts;  
•  Provide regular analysis on the context and humanitarian situation in the area for the development of project proposals and safety assessments.  

Local Partnerships

•  Lead the identification of local partners within AOR for sector-specific interventions
•  In coordination with the Partnerships & Localization unit, support the capacity assessment of partners and the development of tailored capacity building plans
•  Manage local partnerships at field level (within AOR) and ensure follow-up with partners on quality implementation, in line with DRC policies and procedures.

Safety and Security  

• Ensure a safe and secure environment for DRC staff, beneficiaries, and assets by ensuring the local security procedures are up to date and SOPs are being followed in line with the SMP and DRC policy, promoting regular staff training, providing safety and security analysis, recommendations, and follows-ups.

Accountability 

• Ensure overall provision of and adherence to DRC policies, procedures, guidelines, donor regulations, systems and standard practices. 
• Promote compliance with DRC policies and practice with respect to safeguarding, code of conduct, safety and security, anti-harassment, and other relevant policies and procedures.

Operational  

• Provide leadership in overseeing of all logistical/procurement, HR/administration and office services activities and ensure their timely/efficient delivering, including office scale-up/scale-down based on funding and contextual changes.
• Lead on recruitment of senior staff in coordination with SMT, as appropriate.  
• Maintain oversight of narrative and budget development of proposals and concept notes.

Trusts and Grants Fundraising - Tasks and Responsibilities 

• Research and identify new trust and foundation prospects.

JOB DESCRIPTION  Main responsibilities.

Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all internal and external financial processing and reporting, ensuring full compliance with all laws and regulations, including the Charity Commission, HMRC and Companies House regulations.

1. Lead, motivate, develop and train the finance team, promoting an equal, diverse and inclusive team with a positive culture reflecting the values of Feed The Hungry. 

2. Ensure Feed The Hungry operates sound financial, risk management, internal control systems and maintains up-to-date Financial Regulations to safeguard stakeholders' interests and assets and to ensure the integrity of the organisation’s financial performance and statements. 

3. Provide effective day-to-day oversight of the organisation’s financial controls and financial performance, including keeping financial policies up to date and in line with our processes.

4. As Company Secretary, support governance activities, including administration for board meetings, trustee enquiries and administrative duties for the board. 

5. Be alert to all organisational activities that have a financial impact and speedily assess the impact of such activities. 

6. In partnership with the CEO and Directors, develop and support the delivery of the organisation's strategic plan and the related budgets and forecasts.

7. Ensure the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial data, including strategic plans, budgets, management accounts, live forecasts, and financial data and monitoring requested by funders.

8. Provide financial and management support to the CEO, Directors and trustees on the financial position and risks and opportunities of Feed the Hungry. 

9. Financial oversight of contract negotiations (utilities, insurance). 

10. Proactively develop strong working relationships with FTH managers, providing constructive challenge and commercial insight in support of the strategy. Be proactive in challenging the status quo and be prepared to bring new ideas that will enhance the organisation’s activities and returns. 

11. Regular monitoring and tracking of grants made to the organisation. Ensuring external reporting deadlines are met and internal updates on remaining spend is conveyed to project management grant holders. 

12. Administrative responsibility for oversight of the externally appointed auditors and the successful completion of annual audited financial statements and the annual report, and the timely submission to the Trustees.

13. Maintain an ongoing dialogue with the CEO and Directors, and the external auditors. Responsible for the Company's Finance, Tax, Pensions, Audit, and Payroll.

14. Fulfil the role and duties of Company Secretary and attend Trustee meetings with the CEO and Directors 

15. General Duties:
