About us

Since 2021, the SS Great Britain Trust has offered people in Bristol who are underrepresented in the heritage sector the opportunity to use the museum archive to generate creative work.  Originally funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, since 2023 the Trust has maintained this work independently, and we have recently secured funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to develop this work further.

We aspire to develop a participatory research practice which allows community members to explore the Trust’s entire archive collections, and for this to drive our site storytelling to bring relevance to the breadth of communities who call Bristol home.  We need someone with a unique set of skills and aptitudes to help this work grow. 

The Community Research programme encourages open and honest investigation and exploration, and empowers people to publish, write, draw and create from original archival material, developing and opening up positive and tangible bonds with new communities and audiences in Bristol.

Candidate description:

The candidate will work with the Trust’s curatorial team, our collection items, our communities officer, and cohorts of researchers from a range of Bristol communities.  Bringing these elements together, we want to meet someone who can facilitate non-museum specialists in generating research, storytelling and making creative outputs from those collections, in a number of forms.   These could be publications, public events, educational resources, art, literature and more. We’re looking for someone who will enjoy researching with historical materials and have the ability to link people and stories together.  They will work to unlock the barriers that exist between many audiences and heritage sites and support the overall development of Community Research within the wider work of the Trust.

It is essential that the person for this role has good knowledge of and be experienced in discussing and contextualizing history with individuals that do not have background or training in the subject.  We also want to overcome barriers by being flexible on the time of day and week that people can engage with us, so we’re looking for someone who is able to work flexibly, potentially for one evening a week and 2 weekend days per month.

Main Responsibilities

• Work with, and support visitors and researchers from all backgrounds and places to explore, research, publish and curate stories and histories of mobility, communication and globalisation as they relate to the SS Great Britain.
• Work with the Trust’s Communities Officer to scope and generate new opportunities for collaborative, community-led research and collections work and support the work of future Community Research cohorts in 2025 and 2026.
• Act as lead co-ordinator for an on-site community hub, a multi-use story space and flexible work area which will host community participants, and which participants will co-create and use to host others that they wish to engage
• Provide physical and digital access to the Trust’s Designated Collections for visitors and researchers and SS Great Britain team members
• When required, carry out documentation procedures relating to museum objects, including accessioning, photographing and making electronic records for new acquisitions and existing collections, and to become familiar with collections in such a way as to assist participatory research
• When required, manage safe use of the Brunel Institute and community hub to ensure both learning and enjoyment, and the safety of the collections, and supervise ‘Archive in Five’ public access sessions, creating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors
• Undertake historical research using material from both Trust and non-Trust collections and have the ability to link people and stories together

Person Specification

Essential

• Educated to degree level or equivalent in History or related discipline
• Evidence of working with historic artefacts and archive materials
• Ability to demonstrate co-operative working especially with non-specialist audiences
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evening meetings and some weekends

Breaking Barriers is a specialist refugee employment charity. Refugees flee their homes in fear, with more hardship on their arrival in the UK: a new country, language and stigma. The Client Services Manager will lead a team of Advisers and client-facing staff to deliver high-quality employment support services to refugees in Manchester.

Key responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Development: Manage and support a team of Advisers and client-facing staff through supervision, coaching, recruitment, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
• Service Delivery Oversight: Ensure high-quality, client-focused employment support services, oversee the full client journey, maintain operational systems, and drive continuous service improvement.
• Project & Programme Management: Lead, plan, develop, coordinate and review key projects, adapt delivery models to meet funder and client needs, and monitor progress to ensure successful outcomes.
• Stakeholder & Partnership Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, represent the organisation in networks, and collaborate with employers to create opportunities for clients.
• Monitoring, Reporting & Safeguarding: Ensure accurate reporting and data use for service improvement, embed evaluation and client feedback processes, and uphold safeguarding standards across the team.

About You

The successful candidate will be an experienced manager of frontline employment or support services, with strong people management skills across supervision, training, and performance. You will bring expertise in employment support, careers guidance, or refugee integration, and have successfully led service delivery across multiple locations.

You will have a solid background in project or programme management (planning, developing, coordinating and reviewing), adapting services to meet funder and client needs, and using data to monitor KPIs and produce insightful reports. You will be confident building partnerships with external stakeholders and using data to drive service improvements.

You will understand safeguarding in client-facing services and can support staff in identifying and escalating concerns. You also bring insight into the challenges faced by displaced communities, ideally through Lived Experience of seeking sanctuary in the UK.

Experience working with local authorities, DWP/Jobcentre Plus, or training providers; familiarity with CRM systems; and a track record of contributing to service innovation are desirable criteria.

The role

This role entails overall responsibility for the coordination and management of FPP’s Environmental Governance Programme/EGP, and acting as the central contact point for the programme. Key responsibilities include looking out for the well-being and professional development of the team, ensuring its staffing, resourcing and effectiveness, and facilitating the participatory development of EGP’s strategy.

As Coordinator, you are also a member of FPP’s senior management team (the Programme Coordination and Management Team/PCMT), thereby sharing overall organisational oversight and decision-making responsibility for FPP’s wider work, and maximising synergies between EGP and the other FPP programmes (Responsible Finance, Legal and Human Rights, and Gender), including via successful cross-programme planning, fundraising, coordination and collaboration.

Key responsibilities:

Programme development:   

• Support the design of Money Ready’s programme development cycles.   

• Support with the development of the content and standards for all Money Ready programmes; structure, model and design.   

• Work with the monitoring and evaluation function to understand the impact of how we are designing our programmes.   

• Gain feedback through the internal ‘looking and listening’ processes to support improvements on programmes, balancing learner, trainer and external views.   

• Holding responsibility for our Core Subject Knowledge (CSK) quality, ensuring the information is correct and up to date, assisting with the refresh of key information for new and existing programmes. • Support the Money Ready education and accreditation framework ensuring trainers have everything they need to help young people and adults have the best shot at achieving accreditation.    

• Co-ordinate annual training on the IV process and moderation.   

• Provide training and support with content and programme development processes.   

• Manage the development and maintenance of internal tracking systems for use by regional teams to report the QT activities.   

External relations   

• Be the day-day connection to our accreditation partner and support the quality control processes that they implement   

• Be the best ambassador for our work to all external stakeholders including young people, delivery partners, politicians, funders, the press, the wider education community, local authorities and so on.

A well known local charity VASA is a small charity (turnover £350k) supporting 4,000 people across Rugby, Solihull East and South Warwickshire with community activities, dementia services and our community transport service.

Following the decision of our long serving Charity Manager to move on to pastures new, we are seeking a dynamic individual to take on the role of Interim Charity Manager for an inital period of 6 months with the potential to be extended dependant subject to results and funding. The Interim will lead the charity forward building on relationships, strategy and partnerships fostered by our outgoing CM. 

Our volunteer-led services have grown in the last decade to meet the growing needs of our community thanks to our dedicated volunteers and a forward thinking Board of Trustees and ambitious strategic plan.

The interim postholder will be expected to continue on from the work of the outgoing CM and undertake an indepth review of the business, working with the trustees on the next phase of our strategic plan and look for a bold funding and operating strategy.

To continue our good work and move VASA forward the apointee will be expected to:

• Identify growth opportunities for this service either geographically and/or by expanding the types of service offerings and ensure this is staffed to enable maximum growth.
• Maximise the newly installed transport support software to ensure that VASA is obtaining optimum benefit from it.
• Seek opportunities for expanding the dementia day services offering and the number of clients served.

As external grant funding is vital for VASA the appointee will be expected to:

• Work with the local authorities currently providing grant funding with the pupose of:
  • Making clear the value of the services VASA provides.
  • Securing, and if possible, increase the current level of funding.
• Seek other funding opportunities.

As financial security and governance is paramount to the charity the appointee must:

• Ensure full compliance (Charities Commission and Companies House).
• Develop new partnerships and nurture existing partnerships.
• Lead on fundraising to ensure financial sustainability

Together we are piloting a psychologically-informed, trauma-responsive model with an embedded specialist NHS psychology team. This means you’ll receive high-quality training, 1:1 consultations, and reflective practice to enhance your skills, and to support you and your team to pioneer best practice in homelessness services.

You will be managing a multi-disciplinary team that is dynamic, creative and focused on building trust through relationships. Supporting the team to identify, engage and provide harm minimisation whilst promoting a sense of belonging. Providing rapid interventions for new people who may not need the service, alongside offering sustained support for the people who need it most.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead IRMO’s Education, Training and Employment (ETE) programme. You’ll manage a dedicated team and oversee a range of initiatives that support our community’s social, cultural and economic integration in the UK.

The ETE programme offers tailored English classes, one-to-one coaching, employability workshops, vocational training and mentoring. It also includes oversight of IRMO’s volunteer scheme, which is an integral part of service delivery and offers meaningful roles for volunteers across the programme. The Programme Manager will play a key role in developing and strengthening this area, and we are currently working towards the Investing in Volunteers quality mark.

These initiatives help people build the skills they need to access and progress in the UK labour market, while also increasing their civic and social participation. All of our work is shaped by the views and experiences of our beneficiaries, and we are committed to keeping our services relevant and responsive.

As Programme Manager, you’ll lead the strategic development of the ETE area, ensuring our work is high-quality, responsive to the needs of our community and making a real impact. You’ll also help grow the programme by strengthening existing partnerships and developing new ones.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring solid experience as both a project and line manager, with a track record of overseeing multiple initiatives, delivering against KPIs and communicating impact clearly. You’ll be confident managing people and priorities, with a keen eye for detail and a leadership style that brings out the best in your team.

You will have a strong understanding of the barriers Latin Americans face when accessing education and employment in the UK, and a genuine passion for advancing the rights and welfare of migrants and refugees.

You’ll also lead on embedding a human rights-based approach across our work through the London Communities Human Rights Programme – a four-year partnership with the British Institute of Human Rights, focused on shared learning, collaboration and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of the ETE area strategy, ensuring we provide high-quality, responsive services that reflect the changing needs of our community

• Ensure grant and contract requirements are met, including achieving KPIs and delivering services on time and within budget

• Produce clear, high-quality monitoring, evaluation and impact reports for funders, partners, the Director and the Management Committee

• Manage existing partnerships effectively while building new relationships with relevant stakeholders to strengthen the ETE area

• Lead, support and inspire the ETE team to perform at their best

• Stay up to date with policy developments and other external factors that may affect our work, identifying opportunities to strengthen and grow our services

• Establish and maintain effective systems for data collection and monitoring to track progress and impact

• Ensure mechanisms are in place to listen to and act on the views of beneficiaries regarding the quality and impact of our services

• Promote our ETE services and communicate their impact to funders, partners and wider stakeholders

• Represent IRMO in relevant networks and forums as required

• Support the development of funding applications

We are seeking a Programme Lead to help shape and deliver impactful sustainability programmes across global tea supply chains.

Working for a charity on a mission to create a fairer, more sustainable tea industry, looking for a Programme Lead who can bring together people, partnerships, and programmes to make that happen. As part of a collaborative and global team, you’ll play a critical role in delivering high-quality development work at scale.

Position: Programme Lead
Location: E2, near Bethnal Green (London). Hybrid, minimum 3 days in the office
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (full-time), Monday to Friday

About the role:
As Programme Lead, you’ll oversee the quality and delivery of impactful programmes across tea-growing regions in Africa and Asia. Supporting country teams, technical specialists, and donors, you’ll guide project design, lead on donor compliance, and help manage partnerships and reporting. You’ll also play a key role in supporting funding proposals, shaping learning processes, and strengthening systems and tools for consistent delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity to work across multiple themes, from economic empowerment and gender equity to climate resilience and responsible sourcing.

Key responsibilities include:

• Support programme inception and quality assurance across global projects
• Guide compliance and donor requirements, including GIZ, EU and institutional funders
• Lead on programmatic content for funding proposals and donor pitches
• Strengthen systems and tools for programme and grant management
• Support project learning, MEL frameworks, and cross-country collaboration
• Build strong partnerships with global member network and funders
• Coordinate with technical leads, finance, and communications to deliver joined-up results
• Champion shared learning and ensure insights feed into future programme design

About you:

• At least 5 years’ experience delivering or managing international development programme
• Experience working on sustainability challenges such as livelihoods, environment, or gender equality
• Skilled in donor grant management, compliance, budgeting, and reporting
• Experience leading learning processes and supporting MEL systems
• Strong project management, analytical, and communication skills
• Familiar with agricultural supply chains or corporate responsibility is a plus
• Comfortable working in multi-stakeholder settings with public and private sector actors
• Able to manage priorities, work cross-functionally, and support globally dispersed teams
• Willingness to travel internationally as needed

Desirable:

• Postgraduate degree or training in international development, agriculture, sustainability, or related field
• Experience in the tea sector or working directly in tea-producing regions
• Experience managing consultants or junior team members
