Job Title: Programme Co-ordinator & Facilitator

Location: Based within HMP Altcourse, Fazakerley, Liverpool. Step Free access is available at this service. You may be expected to travel to other services as required, including to Central London Central Office and for in-person meetings held off site. 

Salary: £32,000

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 07:45 - 17:15. Please be aware that daily working hours may vary, ranging from 7.5 up to 10 hours, depending on programme delivery requirements. Flexible working may be available, with potentially 1 - 2 days working from home depending on programme delivery. You may be required to work outside these hours as per participant and service requirements.

About the Role

We're hiring a Programmes Coordinator & Facilitator to join our Safe Ground team based in HMP Altcourse. The role involves delivering arts based interventions aimed at supporting participants in their personal development, family relationships, and rehabilitation.

In this role, you’ll help set up, deliver  and review arts‑based, therapeutically informed programmes that support men in custody with personal development, family relationships and rehabilitation. You’ll work directly with programme participants, using creative group sessions and person centred approaches to meet individual and group needs. You’ll also work closely with colleagues in the Visitors’ Centre, prison staff and wider teams to make sure our programmes run safely, smoothly and with care. As part of Safe Ground’s flagship Family Service, you’ll be joining a reflective and supportive team of facilitators, counsellors and family support staff. Together, you’ll help strengthen family relationships, support positive change and contribute to a more compassionate, trauma informed culture within the prison.

You will be required to undertake additional training and vetting as per the requirements of the prison. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Facilitate and deliver arts‑based, therapeutically informed group programmes for men in custody.
• Create safe, trauma‑informed and inclusive group spaces that support personal development, rehabilitation and family relationships.
• Coordinate programme set‑up, participant recruitment and delivery, working closely with colleagues and prison staff.
• Adapt sessions to meet different learning needs, abilities and backgrounds.
• Build positive, professional relationships with participants, colleagues and external stakeholders.
• Monitor participant engagement and wellbeing, responding appropriately to safeguarding or risk concerns.
• Collect feedback and contribute to programme evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Maintain accurate, timely and confidential records in line with GDPR, safeguarding and organisational policies.

What we are looking for:

• Previous professional or lived experience supporting people who require personal development, rehabilitation and family relationships, an arts‑based, therapeutically informed group programmes for men in custody.
• Demonstrated experience within a prison, criminal justice, or similar setting.
• Skilled in applying a background in arts education, dramatherapy, applied theatre, or education to work creatively and effectively with individuals and groups.
• Ability to engage with people from different backgrounds, build rapport, and empower them to achieve their personal goals
• Ability to engage with people from different backgrounds, build rapport, and empower individuals to achieve their personal goals, including through the use of therapeutic groupwork techniques.
• Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs

Working with three Heads of Evaluation, the Deputy Director and the Director, you will help ensure our evaluations are designed to generate credible evidence of what works.

You will:

• lead the design, commissioning and management of impact evaluations, including RCTs and QEDs. This will include feasibility or developmental work where interventions are not yet ready for full impact evaluation.

• work closely with independent evaluators and delivery partners and colleagues in our Programmes & Grants and Policy & Communications directorates to assess the evaluability of interventions, and lead the design and delivery of large-scale, complex impact evaluations.

Context and purpose of role

At Ramblers we work to empower the public and volunteers to take action to protect paths and access – whether claiming lost rights of way, pursuing resolutions to path problems, or objecting to changes to the definitive map. As a member of the Programmes team, the Programme Lead (Path Protection) will be responsible for the successful development and delivery of the programme across GB.

Key responsibilities

· Lead on the design, development and operational delivery of the Path Protection programme across GB.

· Create operational delivery plans – to identify milestones, monitor risks, resolve issues and manage resource requirements.

· Design and develop resources and processes to support programme implementation.

· Be responsible for managing a budget in line with programme goals and objectives.

· Be responsible for evaluation and reporting, to ensure the programme meets KPIs and delivers measurable impact.

· Manage new and existing strategic partnerships with partner organisations and those working to improve access and reduce barriers to becoming active outdoors.

· Train and support volunteers – and promote the programme more widely.

· Provide advice and guidance to the public on path protection issues.

The Role

The Programmes Manager (Education) leads DTL’s schools work, owning the relationships, logistics, and outcomes that sit at the heart of our education offer. This is a delivery role with real breadth: you will manage a national programme of training events, lead on school recruitment and retention, and ensure the programme generates the evidence base that sustains its long-term funding.

You will be the main point of contact for subscribing schools, working closely with the CEO and Head of Partnerships. You will represent DTL’s schools work to funders and external partners, and contribute to the strategic development of the programme over time.

While the Digital Ambassador Programme is currently grant funded for three years, DTL’s intention is for the programme to become financially self-sustaining through school subscriptions, and this role is central to achieving that. As the programme grows, so will the scope of this post and the team to support it.

This is an office based role (flexible working considered) from our Brighton office which will involve some travel.

The Digital Ambassador Programme

The Digital Ambassador Programme is DTL’s flagship schools initiative. It trains staff and student Digital Ambassadors in schools across the UK, equipping them to lead on digital safety from within - and to escalate harmful content directly via DTL’s trusted flagger network.

This model creates both a faculty lead to manage complex reports from young people and also a student lead who will be able to provide peer-to-peer support to their fellow students, ensuring that students who may not wish to report directly to the faculty will still have a reporting mechanism. 

Key Responsibilities

Programme delivery

• Manage all delivery phases from set up through to annual review, in line with the agreed delivery plan.

• Coordinate the logistics of 6 regional hub training events per year, including venue sourcing, school invitations, materials production, and on-the-day facilitation.

• Oversee the production of printed resources and ensure all school-facing materials meet DTL brand standards.

• Manage the year-round ambassador network: quarterly online meetings, monthly email digests, and peer-to-peer community activity.

School recruitment and retention

• Lead school recruitment and retention

• Manage all school relationships as point of contact from initial contact through to annual renewal.

Monitoring, evaluation and reporting

• Implement the M&E framework in partnership with DTL’s external consultant

Internal coordination

• Manage the project timeline and risk register, keeping the team informed and escalating risks promptly.

• Coordinate with the Youth Engagement Coordinator, who leads youth-facing content and ambassador engagement.

Person Specification

Essential

• Demonstrable experience in project or programme management, ideally in the charity or education sector.

• Strong project management skills, particularly working to a timeline

• Confident communicator - written and verbal - able to build and sustain relationships with school staff, funders, and partners.

Role Details

Job Title: Head of Programmes and Membership

Reporting to: Executive Director

Location: Hybrid/ Flexible/ IIC Office based. We are currently looking to relocate offices within central London. We are flexible on approach within a hybrid model. This can be discussed at interview.

Starting Salary: £47,500

Hours of Work: 40 hours a week with 1 hour lunch break (paid).

Contract: Full-time and Permanent. Requests for flexible working hours will be considered, including requests to work 80% FTE.

As Housing Operations Manager you will oversee both the ongoing supported housing operations and be tasked to bring improvement and consistency of delivery. We have a vision to grow our women’s housing provision over the next five years and this role will be key in developing an impacting and financially sustainable supported housing model.

The focus of the role includes:

• Building high quality, financially sustainable and well-led housing communities
• Ensuring smooth daily running of Keychange supported housing operations, led by sector compliance
• Managing community managers and building relationships for collaborative impact with internal and external stakeholders
• Building a model of support for housing to increase best practice and consistency
• Creating partnerships with other organisations to enable the delivery of support
• Contributing to a hard-working, open and transparent culture which supports continuous improvement
• Liaising with local authorities and statutory agencies to ensure the appropriate interactions with communities

About you

We are looking for a values-led manager who brings:

• Experience in managing supported housing provisions, with good knowledge of Supported Housing and Ofsted regulations and sector best practice
• Experience of managing people, providing leadership and empowering development to a team delivering housing support
• Proven ability to build positive relationships effectively with internal stakeholders, external partner agencies and local authorities
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and find solutions to operational challenges
• Ability to travel up to 40 days per year

The Opportunity

The Fundraising Manager will play a central role in managing and growing partnerships with key funders to ensure they are well stewarded, renewed and, where possible, developed into larger, multi-year relationships.
