Head of Movement Support and Growth

Salary: £73,000 per year, plus £5,000 car allowance
Location: Gilwell Park, Chingford (E4) with at least two days per week on site
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week; some evening and weekend work will be required.

About the team

Our Movement Support and Growth team brings together the people who support volunteers across the UK, help recruit and develop new volunteers, and work with communities where Scouting has traditionally had less reach.

We're currently focused on improving the volunteer experience, reducing unnecessary administration, strengthening local leadership, and helping more young people join and benefit from Scouting.

We're a supportive, collaborative team that enjoys solving problems and finding better ways to help volunteers succeed.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a national team, influence major programmes of work, and make a real difference to people and communities across the UK.

What you'll be doing as our Head of Movement Support & Growth

You'll work closely with colleagues, volunteers and senior leaders across the organisation to:

• Develop and deliver plans that help Scouting grow in more communities
• Support our commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive experience for everyone
• Use data, feedback and research to understand what's working and where improvements are needed
• Improve the tools, services and support available to volunteers
• Lead teams through change and help build a positive, high-performing culture
• Ensure volunteers, parents and young people receive excellent support when they need it

About you

We're looking for someone who has:

• Experience leading teams at a senior level
• A track record of delivering results through change and improvement
• Strong people leadership skills and the ability to bring others together around a shared goal
• A commitment to inclusion and creating opportunities for people from all backgrounds
• Experience building effective partnerships and working with a wide range of stakeholders
• The confidence to think strategically while remaining practical and hands-on when needed
