About you
Our ideal candidate is a great communicator, with experience in content planning, social media content creation and management, newsletter copywriting, website management, and graphic design. They should be well-versed in crafting narratives for a variety of audiences and outputs, and managing an organisational communications calendar.
The role
Key components of the role include:

Social media content development - collaborate with internal subject specialists to produce consistent and frequent on-brand written and visual content for social channels, in support of brand and advocacy goals. You’ll use Canva and Adobe Creative Suite and AgoraPulse for this.

Content briefing - craft high-quality creative briefs (for copy, design, multimedia) to be followed by internal staff or external suppliers where required.

Email - develop, write and send UnitedGMH’s regular email newsletter, working with internal staff to source news, updates and relevant content tailored for email subscribers.

Website development - develop, maintain and update content for UnitedGMH and GMHAN websites, including uploading content and editing pages.

Video and audio production: Develop consistent, platform-appropriate video and audio content streams, from short-form videos to the creation of new podcasts.

Social media channel and community management - lead on day-to-day management and posting on UnitedGMH and GMHAN social media channels, including X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Instagram. Manage paid social campaigns where required. Use monitoring tools to manage social media comments (organic and paid), as well as newsletter email replies.

Brand guardian: Be a firm steward of UnitedGMH and GMHAN brands, helping to ensure consistent application of visual identity and tone of voice across all external organisational outputs, maintaining high standards of design.

Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting - create regular analytic reports for social and email channels with data-driven recommendations as to how outputs can be continuously improved.

Editorial planning and communications calendar management - lead on the maintenance, updating and adjusting of the organisation’s communications calendar, to drive consistent, planned-in-advance content across channels in support of brand building and key advocacy moments.

Team support - support the communications team through project management, meeting management, processing supplier invoices, keeping journalist lists up-to-date, and other responsibilities where needed.
Requirements

Understanding, and experience in use, of online channels (incl. website content management systems (CMS) such as Wordpress and Squarespace, a broad spectrum of social media platforms and email marketing through Mailchimp)

The Finance Manager role is a newly created role which is being introduced to strengthen the organisation’s financial management and control systems. The postholder will work across the breadth of the finance function preparing internal management accounts and external annual accounts.
In 2024, Cord changed its finance system to use Business Central. The Finance Manager will become the organisation’s main ‘admin’ user of the finance system. This is a new role focusing on working with girls who are at risk of entering the Criminal Justice System through their associations and links to Urban Street Gangs in Leeds. Job purpose
The Clinical Lead will play a pivotal role in leading and developing Action for ME’s Healthcare Services with the Operations Director, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care for individuals affected by Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME). Reporting to the Director of Finance and Corporate Services, this role will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the Charity complies with relevant legislation and regulations. The Head of Governance, Compliance & Risk will help maintain the ‘conscience of the charity’ to ensure that the Charity maintains public trust and executes its business in line with best practice. The role will be responsible for monitoring the compliance of legislative and regulatory requirements affecting the Charity and its activities.
The person will:
· Facilitate the smooth operation of the Charity’s formal decision-making governance structures (including Committees reporting to the Board), ensuring that all Board meetings and all Board Committees are properly constituted and provided with clear terms of reference.
· Ensure the Charity complies with its Articles of Association and where appropriate drafting and incorporating amendments in accordance with correct procedures, including management of any governance issues for the Charity Commission.
· Review and monitor procedures to ensure that the Charity complies with the requirements of the Charity Commission and charity legislation alongside other company law and Company House requirements.
· Maintain the following registers and respond to appropriate requests concerning information they contain: Members of the Board of Trustees, Trustees’ interests, Gifts and hospitality accepted and refused, Persons with significant control register and Governance of the Donors register (adherence to GDPR).
· Be responsible for facilitating the proper induction of Trustees into their role, advising and assisting them in their duties and responsibilities.
· Update and review governance policies and procedures and ensure their effective implementation.
· Design and develop mechanisms to ensure that there is a robust framework for compliance with legislative, regulatory and policy requirements and that this is in line with best practice.
· Provide advice to staff on compliance with legislation, regulation and policies. This includes researching and investigating matters, challenging existing practice and agreeing new ways of working where required.
· Lead on the Charity’s whistleblowing arrangements and support the ‘Freedom to Speak Up Champion’ in the investigation and management of whistleblowing matters.
· Design and maintain key registers and declarations in line with internal and external requirements. This will include the development of other key internal compliance registers, including those relating to contracts, complaints and policies.
· Manage the Governance, Compliance and Risk Officer to support the operation and logistics of the governance, compliance and risk related work.
· Contribute, as a member of the Charity’s management team, to the wider strategic projects and developments.
· Work flexibly to support any governance, compliance, risk and legal responsibilities or other duties commensurate with the post.
The successful candidate will have:
· Qualification in corporate governance or relevant experience.
· Experience of servicing and supporting Boards and committees and advising on complex governance matters.
· Detailed knowledge of corporate governance practices, standards and methodologies, and proven experience of their application.
· Working knowledge of data protection legislation and its application.
· Outstanding communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills with the proven ability to build strong relationships and influence others.
· A high degree of personal integrity and the ability to work with tact, diplomacy and discretion.

This senior role will be a part of the Senior Leadership Group and will report to the Chief Programmes and Communities Officer. The role will be a figurehead internally and externally on all things research and evaluation.
The Research and Impact Department has two key areas of responsibility: evaluating and reporting the impact of the charity’s programmes and providing research and evaluation consultancy to mission-aligned organisations. The team consists of a Senior Impact and Evaluation Officer who evaluates the impact of our programmes and oversees stakeholder impact reporting, as well as a Research and Evaluation Consultancy Lead and Senior Research and Evaluation Officer who deliver the charity’s consultancy work via Brilliant Consulting.

As well as utilising UCAS progression data and the Higher Education Access Tracker to monitor long term impact, the Research and Impact Department regularly undertake internal research projects to enhance and improve our programmatic impact. Through our consultancy work, we have partnered with a range of universities and education organisations, such as the Centre for Transforming Access and Student Outcomes in Higher Education (TASO) and The Sutton Trust. A key part of this role will be building our consultancy work further in order to generate income and new strategic partnerships.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading research and evaluation work in a relevant field and will have strong research skills and knowledge of evaluation methodologies. They will be highly experienced with managing stakeholder relationships and have commercial acumen. We are looking to recruit a motivated and talented individual with strong project management skills to lead the delivery of the training function within the BSI. Reporting directly to the Director of Events and Training, and in collaboration with the wider BSI team, the Training Manager will be responsible for the delivery of existing training programmes and for devising, setting up and rolling out new training courses by working with BSI members to develop content and curricula, utilising different platforms from face-to-face to remote learning and supporting marketing of the courses to relevant sectors.
This role is responsible for engaging with a wide range of stakeholders to help identify training needs and opportunities that the BSI can meet. This will include opportunities in several sectors including clinical, scientific and public/patient focused. The Role
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Corporate Services, this role is responsible for the overall operational financial management and reporting for Leeds Hospitals Charity. The Financial Account is responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts, as well as line managing three Finance Officers in the team. Maintaining close links and building strong working relationships with the Senior Leadership Team is vital to ensure appropriate and timely provision of management information and close management of individual budgets.
The person will:
· Be responsible for statutory reporting, compliance, annual accounts and VAT, including charity SORP regulations.
· Ensure that all statutory accounts, reports and returns are accurate and represent a true and fair view of the Charity, meeting financial timescales and legal requirements.
· Act as the main point of contact and manage the annual audit process in conjunction with the appointed auditors.
· Be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts and ensure that they accurately reflect the business activity, that accruals and other adjustments are being made correctly, that variances from budget and other issues are investigated and resolved.
· Prepare monthly investment portfolio movement statements, reconciling to the Fund Managers external reports.
· Prepare monthly fund reconciliations, documenting the movement on funds, split by fund types.
· Prepare monthly payroll reconciliations and post accounting journals to ensure the finance system reconciles to the payroll, be responsible for making the pension payments and all payroll taxes in a timely manner – within the externally fixed deadlines.
· Maintain the fixed asset register.
· Prepare quarterly VAT returns for submission to HMRC and calculate the partial exemption annual adjustment.
· Ensure that all income received is accounted for and expended in accordance with the donor’s wishes as per existing legislation and Charity Commission guidance.
· Continuously evaluate the Charity’s approach to financial reporting and compliance ensuring consistency with the Charity’s objects and values and effective and efficient processes.
· Line manage the finance officer(s), identifying opportunities for growth.
The successful candidate will have:
· A relevant accountancy qualification with significant post qualification experience, preferably in a not-for-profit organisation.
· Working knowledge of taxation issues (particularly Corporate Tax, Income Tax, NI, VAT and Gift Aid).
· Practical experience in the preparation of accounts under the Companies Act, Charities Act and particularly the Charity SORP.
· Experience of managing large technical projects to strict deadlines.
· Experience of accounting for restricted, designated and endowed funds including knowledge of income recognition criteria and overhead recovery considerations.
· Extensive experience of using charity accounting software, preferably Access Financials.
· Previous team management and development experience.
