Salary: £27,000 - £30,000

Location:  Wembley Police Station/Brent Civic Centre (occasional travel to Hammersmith office)

Hours: 35 Hours p/w, 9AM-5PM. Once quarterly you will need to work a Thursday from 1PM-9PM.

About the role:

The Non-Crimes Assessment Worker will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. They will work within the team to make proactive contact attempts with a high volume of new referrals. Their main focus will be contacting the police cases that may otherwise not get referred into the service. Once this contact is established complete initial needs and risk assessments. They shall provide initial advice and crisis safety planning before the case is allocated to an IDVA/caseworker or referred to the appropriate partner agency for ongoing support. They will provide this high quality support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women from the age of 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. They will advise women on criminal justice, civil remedies, housing and related matters.

About You:

You will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on survivors and children. Be skilled in risk management and safety planning and is experienced in domestic violence advocacy, who has worked with a high volume of clients who have complex and multiple needs. You will have a countenance that remains calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis and you will have experience working within safeguarding procedures.

The Purpose of the Role
IRC’s External Relations (ER) department brings together Fundraising, Communications and Policy & Advocacy functions. With the aim to raise money, awareness and influence for crisis-affected populations worldwide, the department combines knowledge and expertise across multiple national markets.  
 
The IRC fundraising teams are comprised of colleagues and teams working in the USA, UK, Germany, Sweden and Korea as well as emerging markets delivering direct marketing, content, account management, philanthropy, board liaison, corporate as well as trust and foundation partnerships to support IRC’s national fundraising strategies. 
 
The IRC’s private fundraising capability in the UK has grown significantly over the past five years. Ambitious growth plans are in place to deliver increasing income from the private sector as part of an exciting global External Relations strategy.  
 
The Director of UK Mass Markets is responsible for the leadership and direction of the Mass Markets team in the UK and for securing long-term sustainable income for the IRC through individual donor acquisition, retention and supporter care. You will lead and develop a high-performing team by growing mass marketing audiences and income, developing exciting and targeted campaigns, identifying opportunities for product, channel and audience diversification, and championing UX and a supporter centric fundraising model. Scope and Authority

Key Accountabilities

·  Aligned to the overall Global External Relations Strategy, develop, implement, monitor and report on IRC UK’s fundraising and supporter engagement strategy. 
·  Lead fundraising campaigns (acquisition, retention, mid-level) that deliver unrestricted income to enable IRC’s work. Channels include e-mail, direct mail, inserts, Facebook advertising, new forms of social media, and adwords, as well as telemarketing etc.

Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:

About HIAS+JCORE

JUMP is a London-based befriending project for young asylum seekers and refugees who have been separated from their families. The three primary ways in which JUMP supports young people are casework, community, and

befriending.

About the role

We are looking for a self-starting team member who will help coordinate this valuable project in London. You’ll be responsible for the befriending pairs and undertake tasks such as develop and maintain relationships with partner organisations, manage referrals for young people, recruit volunteer befrienders, and setting-up and sustaining pairs. This includes leading an initial training day.

Contact with befrienders is through monthly reporting, and bi-annual supervision (initially after three months for new befrienders); alongside ad-hoc communication on safeguarding or other urgent matters. Contact with young people is more regular and varies depending on their casework support needs.

Community events take place every three months and offer a space for all young people and volunteers to come together and celebrate the work they are doing on JUMP. You will need to attend these events, which can take place on the

weekend, and liaise with your cohort of befriending pairs to ensure everyone has the correct information.

JUMP also has Hardship Fund (HSF) available to young people who need financial support with travel, clothing, food vouchers, and phone contracts. We also have a small budget for miscellaneous payments, which in the past has included paying for emergency accommodation for young people facing homelessness.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Supporting the running of our JUMP project in London, and overseeing and supporting up to 15 pairs, by:

Supporting young people and the JUMP Community

· Managing a caseload of young people;

· Offering casework support (e.g., related to housing, education; day-to-day needs; arranging legal intervention etc.);

· Where necessary arranging and attending appointments with the young person (GP, Home Office, Job Centre, and Legal appointments);

· Signposting young people to available support and intervening where necessary.

· Assisting in the planning and organising of group trips and events every 2- 3 months;

· Conducting initial assessments with young people to understand their needs, and once paired with a volunteer, hosting befriending initial meetings;

· Facilitating Hardship Fund payments to young people, including applications and approvals.

Supervising and supporting volunteers

· Organising and delivering JUMP core training to new and existing befrienders;

· Recruiting, interviewing and onboarding new befrienders;

· Supporting befriending volunteers through regular supervisions, meetings, emails and phone calls;

· Responding to applications from new volunteers and actively recruiting volunteers as required;

· Ensuring that volunteers uphold JUMP’s policies and boundaries for

befriending;

· Responding promptly to safeguarding concerns raised by volunteers.

Publicising JUMP, and engaging with key stakeholders

· Publicising the project to existing and potential referral agencies working with young asylum seekers and refugees who have been separated from their families;

· Establishing and maintaining excellent close working relationships with referral organisations;

· Representing HIAS+JCORE and JUMP in the refugee sector as required, for example at the Refugee and Migrant Forum meetings..

Project monitoring, evaluation and record keeping

· Working with experts and the Frontline Support Manager on supporting the project and its evaluation;

· Keeping accurate records in the JUMP database, including for safeguarding and impact evaluation purposes.

Other Duties

· Ensuring that JUMP informs our campaigns, communications and education work. As the project develops, there will be opportunities for the post- holder to contribute to and support these areas of our work;

· Undertaking any other related tasks as required.

· Ability to support, develop rapport and trust with, and motivate both young people and volunteers from a range of backgrounds and ages in challenging circumstances, including the ability to facilitate and engage in cross cultural communication;

ABOUT THE ROLE

Variety is looking for a Social Media Officer to join our Fundraising and Marketing team. Reporting to the PR and Communications Manager, the role will be vital in positioning Variety as a highly impactful charity and supporting our mission to fund life-changing practical support to disabled and disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

About the role:

We’re building a Transport Solutions Team that works flexibly across all the tools in our delivery kit – from grants and innovation pilots to research, partnerships, and commercial interventions. Our growing portfolio includes flagship projects tackling challenges such as inclusive EV charging infrastructure, complex community transport needs, and large-scale research like the National Centre for Accessible Transport.

We are now recruiting for three Transport Solutions Managers, one permanent position and two 24 month fixed-term contracts. These roles will lead the design and delivery of high-impact work focused primarily on accessible electric vehicle (EV) charging – a key priority for the Foundation. This is a pivotal role that combines technical understanding, programme delivery, and stakeholder leadership, and is designed to work flexibly across our matrix structure.

While your core focus will be on EV charging, you also may be expected to lead and/or contribute to other transport projects across the transport themes.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, purpose-led team driving change in the transport system for disabled people, and to work on some of the most complex and impactful projects in the sector.

What you will be doing:

• Lead the design and delivery of accessible EV charging initiatives, working closely with Programme Directors and partners across government, industry and the charity sector.
• Scope, commission and manage projects related to EV charging – such as pilots, commercial partnerships, research studies or funding opportunities – ensuring alignment to strategic priorities.
• Bring technical and market understanding of EV charging (e.g. standards, installation, interoperability, user experience, accessibility requirements) to shape the Foundation’s approach in this space.
• Manage end-to-end delivery of specific initiatives, including planning, budgeting, due diligence, contracting, risk management, and governance reporting.
• Use insight, evidence and stakeholder engagement to shape new programmes of work and ensure delivery reflects the needs of disabled people.
• Work flexibly across our matrix team, contributing to projects or funding rounds outside your own portfolio as needed, and supporting colleagues with specialist input or delivery resource.
• Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including OZEV, DfT, BSI, chargepoint operators, local authorities, disability organisations and industry experts.
• Collaborate across the Foundation, including with the Insight & Evaluation, Finance and Communications teams, to ensure high-quality delivery, learning and visibility of our work.
• Bring and apply knowledge in key areas as accessible transport, disability, inclusive innovation, grant making or systems change.
• Support the development and continuous improvement of our delivery models, funding mechanisms and ways of working.

Your experience:

Must haves:

• Experience managing complex projects, ideally in EV charging, transport, or energy sectors.
• Ability to translate technical or policy insight (e.g. standards, user experience, accessibility, or engineering considerations) into practical delivery and funding approaches.
• Experience managing projects or funding opportunities from inception through to delivery, ideally across multiple partners or suppliers.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across government, industry, and the charity sector.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to deliver multiple, complex workstreams to deadlines.
• Strong analytical capability, able to interpret data, research and qualitative insight to inform recommendations and decision-making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce high-quality reports, business cases, and presentations for senior audiences.
• Confident IT literacy, including Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).

Nice to haves:

• Understanding of EV charging systems, standards (e.g. PAS 1899), and market dynamics.
• Experience working alongside government, local authorities, or industry partners on projects.
• Familiarity with innovation or funding mechanisms such as pilots, challenge funds, co-design, or commissioning frameworks.
• Understanding of wider disability and transport issues, such as the social model of disability and key accessibility barriers.
• Experience supporting or line managing others in a team or project context.

As part of the NFCC People Culture and Leadership (PCL) Hub this post plays a key role in supporting and enabling fire and rescue services (FRS) to drive organisational and culture change.

The postholder will use their subject matter knowledge, skills and experience alongside the principles of project management to support the design, development and implementation of a range of PCL products and services. Whilst the role supports all PCL activities, the role will have a focus on Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)-related projects, therefore experience in this area is particularly desirable. Moreover we require someone with relevant knowledge and experience in one or more fields of the people/HR/OD/EDI profession.

Evaluating the effectiveness of the NFCC’s PCL products and their benefits to FRS’s will be a key aspect of the role and the postholder will undertake a range of evaluation activities to identify improvements and make recommendations for improvement. They will be responsible for implementing agreed changes and maintaining PCL products to ensure they remain fit-for-purpose.

Stakeholder engagement is a key element of the role by building effective relationships and establishing networks to improve the uptake/adoption of PCL products and drive culture change.

• Oversee financial management across all directorates, including cash flow, reserves and investment planning, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and risk appetite.

• Lead the monthly management accounts, year-end process, audit activity and statutory reporting, ensuring compliance and timely delivery.

The Candidate:
We are looking for candidates who have the following:

• CCAB qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent international qualification).
• Proven experience leading management accounting and financial planning teams in a complex charity or commercial organisation.
• Significant experience developing and reviewing monthly management accounts, including reconciliations, variance analysis and forecasting.
• Excellent understanding of finance systems and data flow across diverse systems, including CRM integration.
• Demonstrable experience supporting restricted fund budgeting and monitoring, and financial partnering with fundraising or project-based teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
