We have a new role for a Service Development Manager. You will be creative and independent thinker who can work across a range of disciplines to increase our community presence, drive improvement in areas of our business performance, and build participation from volunteers, clients and their families in shaping the charity's sustainability.

• To lead the development and delivery of operations, new initiatives, partnerships in our community and volunteer services.

• To lead the development of volunteer capacity across the charity, particularly our horticulture and day opportunities services.

• To manage staff at our horticultural service and promote our nursey and community garden to drive its development and sustainability.

• To work with the leadership team to identify and apply for grants, partnerships and other financial support options to drive service development and income growth.

• To support the charity’s drive toward values-based recruitment and leadership of its staff, volunteers and those using its services.

• Work to ensure that the business priorities and targets associated with the corporate strategy are being met for their service portfolio and the staff working with.

• To draft bids and grant applications (or to support others in doing so) that underpin new areas of work or investment to support existing service provision.

Key Responsibilities

Spear Programme

• Prepare and deliver coaching sessions on a weekly basis and find creative ways of developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees. This includes running application workshops with past Trainees as well as maintaining records and reporting on statistics.

Relationship management

• Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, and other organisations
• You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre

Church Community

• The Spear Coach is directly employed by Citizen Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community
• Help to raise the profile of the Spear programme within Citizen Church and build a network of supporters and volunteers from the congregation
• Other ad hoc church responsibilities from time to time.

Operations Director

Children North East is a growing charity, working to ensure that all babies, children and young people have the opportunity to grow up happy and healthy. The charity as a whole has been through a transformative restructure and due to this transformation the charity has grown substantially since 2019. Our Operational area will be led by two Directors an Operations Director and an Operations Development Director.

The current Operations Director has now been appointed internally as the Operations Development Director, this role will focus on system change including research, data, growth and further our development on specific pieces of work. This will include growing the demographics of children we work with to help us to meet their needs, changing reactionary work into intervention work and will lead on the following:
• CNE voice work – supporting babies children and young people to have a voice in the work that we do at CNE.
• Developing, implementing and leading on our training offer – in house online packages.
• Leading on new operational developments – research, scoping, pilots and evaluation.

You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to drive the charity forward in meeting the end of its current 5 year strategy and be part of the development of the next 5 year strategy. You will create good working relationships with your senior leaders and Operational Leads and you will have a whole charity approach to the work required.

This role will Lead our Operational Leads to deliver the excellent services that sit within their portfolios including the following teams:

• Therapeutic including Counselling
• Communities
• Poverty Proofing

The Operations Director role will ensure the income, safety and quality of our services are delivered to the highest standards. With key leadership qualities, this role will ensure the sustainability of our services and work collaboratively with SLT to reach its ambitions of our current and future strategies. There will be specific collaboration with the Operations Development Director to ensure that once our seed and pilot work is established it is moved forward into Operations within the charity to benefit all of the people we work with. The Role

Transforming Lives for Good (TLG) are a national Christian charity working in partnership with local churches to give struggling children a hope and a future. The Church Relationships Lead will work as part of the national Volunteer Programmes (VP) Team, reporting to the Early Intervention Network Support Manager and collaborating with staff responsible for programme training and development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supporting EI Coordinators to effectively run their centres, as well as training new EI coach teams.

• Maintaining oversight of resource development, such as those aimed at health professionals, and ensuring a strategically-relevant and impactful portfolio of content and resources

For over 40 years, Being There, a medium sized charity, has provided practical, emotional and social support to those affected by life limiting illnesses across much of Greater Manchester. The services of the charity are delivered by an enthusiastic cohort of volunteers managed by an established and capable management team.

After steering Being There though the Pandemic and the recent economic impact on charities, our long serving CEO, Karen Mercer, is retiring. We are therefore looking to recruit a new leader for our team.

Emmaus is a secular organisation supporting formerly homeless and socially excluded people by providing a home for as long as it is needed, meaningful work experience in a social enterprise and a sense of belonging and community. There are currently more than 30 Emmaus communities and groups in the UK stretching from Glasgow to Dover and Norfolk to South Wales, collectively supporting more than 850 people. About the role

The Regional Communications Officer role is an exciting, varied position working with Emmaus communities located in the South East region of the UK to increase their profile and engage supporters.

You will work closely with the Emmaus communities in your patch to identify their communications needs and plan and deliver a mix of work to help achieve their goals. As part of a wider team, you will also share ideas and draw on each other’s experiences to maximise PR, digital and communications opportunities.

A typical working week within this role can include:

· A weekly meeting with other Regional Communications Officers to catch up and share ideas and work of interest

· A visit to an Emmaus community to conduct interviews and capture photography and video

· Writing and sending press releases

· Scheduling social media content

· Creating graphics and marketing materials using Canva

· Updating community websites using WordPress

This is a part time position working four days per week (30 hours), Monday to Friday.

Within this role, you can be based at home or in an Emmaus community. Wherever you are based, maintaining positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders is vitally important.  The current patch for this role is Emmaus Brighton & Hove, Emmaus Greenwich and Emmaus Dover. Regular travel to these three communities will be required (usually one community visit per week). Travel to team meetings, usually held in Birmingham, and other locations will also be required on occasion.

Who are we looking for?

We require someone with a strong skillset and at least two years’ experience working in a busy communications, public relations or marketing role. Although not essential, knowledge and understanding of homelessness and the charity sector would also be an advantage.

Creativity and passion are a must. You will have a broad range of communications skills, love seeing your creative ideas come to life and keen to develop your skillset within a national homelessness charity.

What we offer

· Salary: £27,972 to £30,352 per annum pro rata

About the role:

MAG is for looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and experienced project manager to be a strategic business partner with leaders and senior managers across MAG, to lead, drive and support a coordinated approach to the design, delivery and evaluation of sustainable business change, and associated projects, that contribute to the delivery of MAG’s strategy. This role will be responsible for the delivery, integration/coordination and communication of cross organisational projects and change management initiatives. Ensuring that they are delivered in accordance with MAG’s vision, mission and values. 

This is a new role, in MAG’s Governance and Business Transformation department, which is responsible for driving, fostering and helping build a culture of change and project management at MAG. As this is a new role, it is initially for a two-year contract subject to review.

About you:

The successful candidate will be a qualified project manager and have a recognised change management certification or qualification. You will have significant experience of leading and or supporting all aspects of small to large-scale and simple to complex, integrated business change and process improvement initiatives, using relevant change and project management approaches. You are, focused, pragmatic, and someone who excels at engaging and working with colleagues at all levels on multiple cross-organisational projects. Experience of having worked for an international NGO or comparable organisation is ideal, not essential. 

Fluency in English is required, competency in another language is beneficial.
