We are looking to recruit a Fundraising Volunteer for the Lambeth and Southwark Group. As our Fundraising Volunteer you’ll support your Group Coordinator to organise local fundraising activities and events throughout the year.

In this role you’ll be able to develop your organisation, communication and team working skills.Most importantly you’ll inspire your local community to raise funds that help make sure no one has to face MS alone.

Time Commitment

BloodForce

We work in Ghana to eliminate the burden of blood acquisition on providers and patients in crisis by leveraging technology to galvanize the public to increase Ghana’s Blood Collection Index to greater than 10 by 2030, because no patient in crisis should die from unavailability of blood products.

Ghana at 5.6 per 1000 population, is significantly behind WHO minimum standard [10 per 1,000 population] required to meet a country’s basic transfusion needs. As a result, restrictive blood disbursement policies have resulted in delayed care for critical patients in Ghana and in many cases, avoidable deaths.

We believe that public communities can be mobilized to close gaps in health care delivery, particularly in developing countries. BloodForce plans to build an online blood donor community that can reliably and meaningfully increase blood donation rates in Ghana while helping patients and families navigate their blood product health crises. We’re looking for three volunteers over the age of 18 years old, to provide communication support to stroke survivors at one of our Support Groups, which is based at Ashwell House, 167 Verulam Road, St Albans AL3 4DW.

You’ll be volunteering:

For one and a half hours a week every week, between 10:30am and 12:00pm, in blocks of 8 sessions.

We are looking for communication service supporters to assist stroke survivors in developing their communication skills in a group setting.

The volunteers will:

· Be an effective communication service supporter you need great listening skills and be able to support people in an empathetic and non-judgemental way.

· Be willing to learn and use the technique, called ‘supported conversation’, that is used to support people with communication difficulties.

As a mentor, you will hold weekly one-on-one sessions of 1-3 hours for the duration of 12 months. You will help build confidence, resilience, and help your mentee manage feelings through a series of fun experiences and activities. As a volunteer Newsletter Writer, you will support RollaDome All Skate’s communication efforts by contributing to the creation of engaging newsletters. This role offers the chance to build your writing skills while helping to keep the community informed about our events and programs. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Write, edit, and proofread content for the monthly newsletter. 

• Collect information from team members, programs, and events to include in the newsletter. 

• Assist in formatting and laying out the newsletter for email distribution. 

• Help track the effectiveness of newsletters through performance analytics. 

• Contribute to brainstorming new content ideas and newsletter features. 

Skills & Qualifications 

• Interest in writing, communications, or related fields. 

• Strong written communication and editing skills. 

• Familiarity with social media and email marketing tools. 

• Ability to manage time and work independently. 

• Detail-oriented with a creative approach to content. 

Commitment 

• Minimum 15 hours per week, with flexible hours.
