HOPELINE247 Adviser (Night Service) – Birmingham

We are looking to recruit HOPELINE247 Advisers to provide individually tailored suicide prevention advice and guidance to young people and those who are concerned for them via our national multi-channel helpline HOPELINE247 and deliver suicide prevention training online and in community settings across the UK.

What you will do:
• Work as part of a team providing suicide prevention support to a range of clients via multichannel communication platforms.
• Work on a 7-day shift system
• Use professional judgement to assess the needs of the service users who present with risk to life and manage and report any matters related to safeguarding.
• Maintain accurate records and input data monitoring into the data base system.
• Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practise.
• Provide training, mentoring and coaching to new recruits.

To be successful in this role you will have:
• a degree or professional qualification in Health or Social Care, Community Work or a related discipline
• previous experience of working in an advisory capacity in suicide prevention or mental health
• a proven record of working directly with vulnerable young people
• experience of providing advice and guidance via multiple communication channels
• the ability to empathise, support and build rapport with suicidal people and those who care about them, remaining non-judgemental and adhering to the remit of the service

Salary: £30,272 per annum (Scale point 24) progressing by increments to £33,594 per annum (Scale point 28), based on 33 hours per week. As a night shift worker, you will receive an additional allowance of £10 per night shift. This will be paid on a monthly basis along with the salary.

Hours: Various shift patterns available (16.5 hours, 25 hours & 33 hours per week contracts)

Working arrangements: This role will work shifts starting at 10:25pm and finishing at 7:45am. Shifts will be on a rota basis across a 7-day working week.

Liverpool SHS is a mental health, 12 hour supported housing and community based service, working to a recovery model. Working within the LGBTQ+ team ensuring the project delivery and successful completion of funding contracts. Building relationships with LGBTQ+ providers

Provide a safe space for young people who identify as LGBTQ+. The groups are focused on supporting LGBTQ+ young people to come together, explore their questions & identities, learn about LGBTQ+ culture, find local community, make friends and have fun 

Key Responsibilities  

Delivering services to children and young people 

• Engaging with young people in face-to-face groups and 1-1 sessions to motivate, inspire and encourage potential

• Support to plan and deliver our LGBTQ+ sessions ensuring continued support is given by Eikon to young people; putting young people first, ensuring we offer the right help at the right time 

• Contact new young people and parent referrals to ensure suitability for group or 1-1 support 

• Support the LGBTQ+ team in ensuring young people are involved in the planning, delivery and evaluation of youth work 

• Ensure that parents and carers are involved in the planning, delivery and evaluation of the peer parenting work 

• Signpost CYP to relevant support services for additional support where needed 

• Listening to and supporting young people showing empathy, and understanding, remaining non-judgmental and caring 

• Escalate any safeguarding concerns following Eikons safeguarding process and procedures 

• Ensure accurate and timely case recording, including ensuring case note processes are followed and all data and information is uploaded to the relevant data bases  

• Establish appropriate professional boundaries in relationships with young people/adults 

• Support volunteers within sessions and facilitating activities. 

• Support with completion of risk assessment for all activities

• Support with Internal staff training to upskill and improve staff capabilities 

Supporting with Impact, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting 

• Use goal-based outcomes and additional monitoring tools to monitor effectiveness and the impact of support for CYP accessing the service 

• Support the LGBTQ+ team to monitor, evaluate and develop the project, to meet programme ambitions 

• Support the LGBTQ+ team to develop and evaluate service delivery and scale up the programme 

• Support the LGBTQ+ team to ensure accurate and timely data reports, for internal management and funders in line with project reporting timelines and expectations, reported from both a qualitative and quantitative perspective

To enable vulnerable people living in a variety of different tenures to manage their tenancies/ licences and move towards greater independence within the community, by providing flexible and individually tailored support.

* Undertake initial and continuous assessment of needs and potential risks and agree levels of support actions and capture outcomes in Support and Risk Management files.

* Undertake all administrative work and keep accurate and comprehensive tenant/customer records to professional standards
* Encourage and enable tenants to pay their rent and to ensure that rent accounts are managed effectively in conjunction with the Housing Management team
* Ensure that referrals are chased proactively so that properties which can be used to house those in need are filled as efficiently as possible

* Engage in learning and development activity to increase knowledge and skills

The Housing First service aims to support hard to reach clients with complex needs; by sourcing independent tenancies and providing intensive support into long term accommodation. In the role of Housing First Worker you will work 9-5 hours Monday Friday; working with a person centred approach to support clients in their own homes as well as in the community. 

• You will be responsible for managing a small caseload of clients day to day, delivering ongoing and intensive support to help people set up their home, with the overall goal of supporting them to sustain their tenancy and achieve individual goals and aspirations. 

• You will develop the skills to build and maintain effective relationships with local partner agencies to support clients throughout their recovery.

About the role

Working as part of a team, providing support to people within a service and in the community, our Support Staff are responsible for assessing individual needs and developing agreed support plans to ensure we are providing a service that meets each individual’s needs and supports their aspirations. Support Staff be required to follow risk assessment as well as contribute to risk management planning. We are looking for a Recovery Support Worker to join our passionate, and dedicated team in Hounslow. In this role you will support some of the most vulnerable individuals in the borough, helping them identify their individual strengths and aspirations.

The Hounslow LIFE service is a large multi-site service with a large team of colleagues with specialisms in Homelessness, Substance Use and Mental Health to provide a recovery based approach to 86 clients across our different sites.  

In the role of Recovery Support Worker, you will: 

• Work with clients on their road to recovery, aiding clients to gain the necessary skills to move on from our services and into suitable accommodation.  

• Provide support to maintain independence in the community, build their skills for employment, manage their health needs, and look towards a brighter future.  

• Oversee housing management responsibilities to ensure we deliver safe, high-quality services. 

In this role you will work on a weekly shift rota including early and late shifts, weekends and bank holidays. Staff can claim an additional 20% pay premium for hours worked between 8pm and 8am Monday to Friday, and all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.

Post: Rough Sleeper Outreach Worker

Reporting to: Outreach Manager

Hours per week: You will be required to work 37.5 hours a week over 5 days on which work could fall between Monday and Sunday, with a minimum of 7.5 hours per day, between 5am and 11pm.

Actual days, start/finish times will be variable and in accordance with the rota which will be available two weeks in advance. You will be required to work bank holidays when on rota and may be required to work additional hours, when authorised and as necessitated by the needs of the business including weekends, public holidays or at other times outside your normal hours of work. This may on occasions include night work.

Overall purpose of the job

Successful applicants will work as part of a developing team to provide support and assistance to referred rough sleepers and those at risk of rough sleeping, assessing needs and facilitating the uptake of homelessness provisions, engagement with specialist support services and journey to independent living. Successful applicants will engage and facilitate rough sleepers or those at risk of rough sleeping, to access basic services and accommodation, providing support along the way to address needs and promote independence.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Outreach Trips to visit Rough Sleepers - Epping, Maldon, Chelmsford, Rochford, Braintree, Uttlesford, Castle Point, Brentwood, and surrounding areas.
• Undertake needs and risk assessments, for those rough sleeping and at risk of rough sleeping.
• Facilitate access to council provisions for homelessness.
• Signpost and facilitate referrals and support service users to access specialist agencies.
• Liaise and plan with other agencies, attending client meetings where appropriate/requested.
• Pre-admission checks for the rough sleeper accommodation.
• Provide transport where necessary to Rough Sleepers to enable access to assessment and support services.
• To facilitate as necessary in the provision of intensive wrap around support of clients brought into the Rough Sleeper emergency accommodation (planning, assessments, and referrals)
• Landlord Recruitment/ Retention to get people into private rented accommodation.
• Facilitate accommodation moves, cleaning and preparation of rooms for Outreach clients.
• Welfare checks for individuals placed in accommodation as required.
• Liaising with faith and community groups in all districts to recruit volunteers to facilitate outreach in the area.
• Updating of all data on systems - Spreadsheets/CRM
• Research and admin as necessary to progress the Outreach services.
• Cover of sick and A/L of other Outreach/Support Team members, where necessary

The Client Support Worker targets those who need the Foodbank on a repeated basis and offers a package of support to address the complex and often overwhelming challenges and crisis situations they are facing.  You will work with clients to give time, advice, advocacy and emotional support as well as providing personalised support.  This could include assisting them to access help with finances, debt, social isolation and other issues and connect them with other local projects which may be relevant. • Client Support:  Develop individual plans for clients to assist them through next steps.  Act as an advocate where appropriate, assisting with phone calls, form filling and appointments.  Accompany clients to other projects as required.

•  Administration: Understand and complete the administrative processes for referrals and applying for various grants

• Signposting: Proactively explore the local support offering, build relationships and add useful resources to the signposting folder and disseminate to the centre teams regularly

• Centre Culture:  Work alongside the Centre Coordinators and volunteers to make foodbank visitors feel welcome

• Volunteer Support: Support volunteers in centres to increase their skills and knowledge
