The Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Head of Finance & Operations to take ownership of all internal operations that ensure the organisation’s effectiveness, accountability, compliance, and resilience. Hours and place of work

• This is a full-time role to be fulfilled over a 35-hour week, ideally within the working hours of Mon-Fri, 9:30am–5:30pm, with flexibility as required.
• This is a hybrid role with one day a week in our shared office space in London (Better Space, 127 Farringdon Road, London EC1R 3DA), the travel costs of which must be covered by the individual. We are open to discussing this arrangement further to accommodate individual needs and preferences.
• Further UK travel will be required on occasion, the costs of which would be covered by Clore Social Leadership.

Terms, pay and benefits

• This is a permanent contract.
• Salary for this role will be ca. £55,000 p/a depending on experience.
• The post holder is entitled to 25 days of annual leave, in addition to UK statutory holidays.
• The office is closed for one week during the winter festive period (25-31 December), providing an additional three days of annual leave in addition to the above allocation.

Main purpose of post
An Appeal Support Officer is required to support the activity associated with a
major appeal for the charity. The appeal will raise £1.85m enabling a step change
in our support of Weston Park Cancer Centre.
Reporting to and working closely with our Senior Major Donor & Philanthropy
Manager, Appeal Consultant and Head of Fundraising, you will support the
coordination of appeal activity planning, as we undertake the public phase of the
appeal.
Supporting our established Appeal Board, you will coordinate communications,
prospecting and stewardship management of our major donor growth
programme and portfolio, as we build up both our private fundraising phase and
undertake our wider public fundraising activity.
You will help bring together a range of different public fundraising activities

The Role

About the role

This is a new role where you will the lead and deliver all HR functions, ensuring legal compliance, best practice, and consistency in people management across the organisation. This is a hands-on and strategic role, working closely with the Director of Finances and Resources to support a high-performing, inclusive, and values-aligned culture.

You will be responsible for the full employee lifecycle — from recruitment and onboarding to performance, development, employee relations, and offboarding. • Perform regular inspections of the premises to identify and fix maintenance issues, such as leaks or breakages
• Keep an itinerary of tools and jobs

• Carry out cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping and dusting, to ensure the premises are kept clean and tidy
• Conduct minor repair work, including fixing broken locks, replacing light bulbs and carrying out basic plumbing work
• Monitor the property’s security systems and respond to alarms or potential threats
• Manage waste disposal and recycling activities
• Maintain outdoor areas, such as gardens and parking lots, including pruning shrubs and removing snow or debris
