We are looking for a finance professional, someone who can provide the Charity with sound financial management. This role will be considered for hybrid working on completion of successful probationary period, although a minimum of 2 days in the office will be required.  

The ideal candidate will have:

Ø  AAT full or part qualification or other equivalent relevant qualification or experience

Purpose of Job

· To coach, lead and manage a team of volunteers

Sales and Profit

· Monitor and be accountable for sales and category performance, as well as ensure that the team are aware of and engaged in the shop’s financial performance

· Foster a creative and entrepreneurial shop environment where team members seek to maximise income in new and innovative ways both within the shop and through a variety of channels, such as community events

· Manage the team to maximise income from Gift Aid on donated products

· Ensure that all of Vision Foundation financial procedures are adhered to and executed in a timely fashion by the shop team

Shop Floor

· Ensure sourcing sufficient levels of donated stock locally in collaboration with the shop team

· Establish efficient and commercially successful stock processing systems (such as pricing, quality standards, consumer safety, stock density and culling stock), including backroom systems and ensure these are adhered to by the volunteer team. Ensure that all legal and Vision Foundation internal regulations regarding donated stock are adhered to

· Inspire the team to provide a great customer and donor experience, which enables The Vision Foundation to attract new supporters every day. Ensure that feedback, including complaints are escalated to the Area Manager within the agreed timeframes

· Empower the team to create original, appropriate and commercially successful visual merchandising displays, including shop windows

· Make sure that all procedures for the sale of new products are followed by the volunteer team (if applicable)

· Work with the Area Manager to ensure our shops are in good condition, maximise their potential and are fit for purpose

About this Role

ROLDA (Romanian League in Defence of Animals) is a small animal welfare charity working to improve the lives of dogs, cats, and other animals in Romania and internationally. Since its establishment in 2006, ROLDA has become a beacon of hope for the millions of vulnerable stray animals in Romania – one of Europe's economically poorest nations. Our mission is to manage the homeless animal population, estimated to be millions, through six key focuses: rescue, rehabilitation, sheltering, sterilisation, and education. Within our shelters, inspired by British kennel design and maintained to meet EU animal welfare standards, we can house up to 700 stray dogs at a time. Here, they receive complete veterinary care, rehabilitation, and preparation for rehoming. Since 2006, we have helped over 48,000 animals (primarily dogs and cats) and built two shelters for dogs and one for disabled and senior cats. We also distribute support, primarily through small grants, to six other charities in Romania and over 40 shelters in Ukraine. We rehome mainly in Switzerland, Sweden, and the UK. • Oversee and collaboratively work with our Telephone Fundraising partners on their training and compliance of all deliverables such as welcome calls, upgrades, reactivations and other fundraising campaigns – includes caller listening
• Oversee regular audits of agents, to monitor against key auditory compliance and performance metrics.
• Manage relationships with our Face to Face partners with training, development and materials, and performance reviews. Monitoring various forms or training and reviewing inductions in line with our agreed contract.
• Build a strong knowledge of all areas of St John Ambulance’s work, carrying out continual research and gathering information, case studies and photos for use in training booklets, scripts and materials. Where appropriate, to liaise with external agencies such as designers and copywriters.

Key responsibilities 

1. Strategic planning and collaboration

· Work with the Head of Fundraising to enhance and adapt Ufton’s fundraising strategy.

· Collaborate with teams across Ufton to ensure you can identify opportunities, build proposals for funding, and deliver against Ufton’s and donor needs.

· Anticipate new business by staying on top of sector trends and conducting market research to identify new opportunities.

2. Grant writing and management

· Apply to a range of trusts/grant giving bodies ensuring that applications are closely aligned to the objectives of the funder and Ufton.

· Ensure the appropriate recognition of grants and gifts is made to ensure relationships are maintained through reporting and wider engagement. 

· Collaborate with others to produce compelling and compliant bids that align with our mission, priorities, and values.

3. Prospect research and pipeline development

· Use prospect research strategies to build a robust and actionable pipeline for Ufton.

4. Knowledge management and resource building

· Work collaboratively to build your toolbox to enable smart ways of working, including cases for support, project budgets, case studies and evidence of need/impact.

· Build and manage banks of knowledge and resources to scale your work more quickly, never compromising on quality and integrity.

· Use data (internal and external) to understand the needs of children and young people and build evidence-based bids for funding.

· Acquire an in-depth knowledge of what Ufton does and the impact on children and young people.

5. Relationship building and donor engagement

· Build and develop relationships with trusts and individuals with regular communication to deepen and nurture their support.

· Identify and coordinate donor meetings, site visits and other interactions to deepen relationships and showcase our impact.

· Plan and manage special events to engage donors and supporters, creating meaningful moments that highlight Ufton's impact on children and young people.

· Work collaboratively to build and manage rich engagement plans for our supporters.

6. Fundraising campaign management

· With the Head of Fundraising, develop and manage fundraising campaigns and initiatives, whether capital appeals or individual giving campaigns.

· Work collaboratively across all teams to identify needs and opportunities and transform those into compelling fundraising campaigns.

7. Data integrity

· Keep comprehensive records of all trust and grant fundraising activities and be able to report the impact to funders and stakeholders via various methods.

· Hold high levels of data integrity and be a keen supporter of using technology to support efficiency, accuracy, and accountability.

· Help to implement, develop, and then maintain the charity’s CRM system (Salesforce) ensuring all activity is inputted accurately and efficiently and that you contribute towards its continuous improvement.

· Analyse data to identify trends and opportunities.

 The post holder will also: 

· Contribute to achieving the objectives of Ufton and wider fundraising activities.

· Undertake any additional and ad hoc tasks as required. 

· Actively contribute to team meetings and other activities as required. 

· Monitor and evaluate activities and provide written reports.

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to cover parental leave. 

The successful candidate will have accountability for several key areas of operational delivery of BITC’s programmes across England, Scotland and Wales. This role will ensure the high quality and consistency of performance through these aspects of operational delivery and development, working closely with businesses, internal stakeholders and external partners. This role is responsible for leading and managing a high-performing team, delivering programmes and contractual obligations across their patch. The post holder will lead on driving programme/contractual performance (both KPI’s and financial) motivating and inspiring the team.  They will also have responsibility for ensuring continued funding from key partners and securing new income; monitoring and reporting on this important activity as it contributes to BITC's vision within a set geographical area or programme/project areas.

The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of:

· Managing the delivery of contract and programmes to meet contractual obligations

· Working with business, schools and/or community organisations to create beneficial relationships

· Providing leadership, motivation and development for a dispersed team to achieve excellent results for businesses and beneficiaries

· Securing funding for impact programmes

This is a fixed term contract for approximately 10 months to cover parental leave. 

The location is flexible - candidates can be based at home or at their nearest BITC office.

The salary level for this role reflects the contractual location and the programme funding.  The salary range is £33,120 to 41,000 per annum (regional) and £36,225 to £44,000 London office based.
