Lead and develop the charity’s HR and Volunteering functions (People) to foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive work environment, in line with the organisation’s values and EDI objectives

Key Tasks

Leadership

• Work with the People Sub-Committee (PSC) and SMT to develop and implement organisational people strategies and plans to support the delivery of our organisational strategy for older people.
• Have responsibility for our progress against these plans; measure and report this to PSC and SMT, including by administering our annual people survey, volunteer survey and trustee survey. Identify areas that require improvement and make recommendations for change.

People management

• Oversee People-related policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with UK employment law and best practices.
• Support the development and implementation of Learning and Development (L&D) initiatives.
• Provide support and guidance to those in line management roles within the organisation including on performance management issues and processes.
• Provide line management and support to the Community and Volunteer Manager, ensuring 6 their work aligns with organisational priorities.
• Manage complex employee relations cases, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and change management.

Administration

• Ensure all employee compliance requirements are met, including DBS checks, right to work documentation, and up-to-date staff records.
• Work with the DFO to ensure accurate and timely monthly payroll processing)

Quality

• Ensure that AUKEL’s People policies and procedure are in compliance with the Charity Quality Standard.
• Strive for excellence through the people in the organisation.

Liaison

• To participate to the National Age UK HR network to exchange insight and learn good practice.
• To liaise with our Solicitor team to ensure compliance when managing complex cases.
• To represent AUKEL and participate in appropriate external meetings and events in order to remain aware of local, regional and national issues affecting quality and compliance issues affecting charitable companies.
• To attend relevant HR/ Employment Law seminars or work groups as the AUKEL HR ambassador.

General

• To meet regularly with the CEO for support, supervision and appraisal.
• To attend team and staff meetings, as required.
• To undertake any other duties within the competence of the post holder as may be required
from time to time for the continued smooth running of Age UK East London.

Business Officer –Europe & Eurasia

The Business Officer will work for the Europe & Eurasia Programme Management Unit (PMU) and will provide the highest standards of financial and administrative support to European funded Internews E&E Programmes. We are looking for a responsible and professional individual to perform a variety of financial and administrative tasks. Duties of the Business Officer will include the financial administration of current projects, oversight of project budgets and partner spending, facilitation of payment requests, budgetary projections and other financial and administrative duties that may be required during this period.

The Business Officer will work closely with the Programme Officer, the Senior Business Associate and the Programme Finance Business Partner to provide timely and quality support to programmes as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following with other duties upon request:

Financial administration of Internews’s projects:

· Review project expenditure and ensure accuracy of coding.

· Manage cash-flow to ensure the availability of project funds at Internews’ offices.

· Work with Programme Finance Business Partners (PFBPs) to prepare financial reports for donors, prepare notes for financial reports, and ensure that costs are reported in compliance with donor requirements.

· Monitor co-financing plans.

· Advise project teams on the correct application of HQ policies and processes, including on procurement, travel, etc.

Budget oversight:

· Review budget-versus-actuals and facilitate forecasting in line with project activities.

· Support partners with budget planning.

· Align internal templates to donor formats for effective monitoring and reporting.

· Sub-grants oversight and keeping SGA (Sub-Grant Agreements) tracker:

· Support Internews’ partners to prepare budgets under sub-grant agreements.

· Review financial reports from partners when required and coordinate corrections as required.

Payments and administration:

· Coordinate payment requests to London, including reviews, confirmations, and follow-ups.

· Monitor donor income and prepare requests for disbursements to donors.

· Review and verify suppliers’ invoices to Internews’ London HQ accounting department.

· Support Accounting field teams in terms of induction and refreshment training regarding Internews and donors’ procedures and policies.

· Budget development: work closely with Programme Officer, Senior Business Associate and country offices to develop budgets for new proposals. Coordinate on the development of co-financing approaches and plans for opportunities with the European Commission and other European donors.

· Help set up business processes for new projects, including the preparation of requests for Personal Service Contracts.

· Support the process of staff contracting for projects.

· Help project teams with staff charges to relevant projects.

· Other tasks: participate in project audits carried out at the HQ as required by the London finance controls team.

· Other financial and administrative tasks may be assigned as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

What You'll Do:​​

Lead the Enterprise team to provide an outstanding level of service to events clients, visitors, including the families programme, and deliver excellence in the Café Restaurant franchise and the Shop. You will work enthusiastically as part of the Cathedral’s team of staff and volunteers to help deliver our vision. ​

Some of the Key Responsibilities of the role:​​

• Events

  • To direct the events team in organising the extensive events programme, maximise the spare capacity of the Cathedral building and the adjacent grounds, thereby generating income as required by the Cathedral budget.
  • To be responsible for the execution of events, delegating to the Events Team and/or other Staff members as appropriate.
  • To be on duty as part of the team rota delivering events.

  Café Restaurant

  • To ensure that the franchise delivers the requisite performance, in terms of quality and financial benefit to the Cathedral, as required by the contract between Guildford Cathedral Enterprises and the franchisee.

  Management

  • To be the line manager for the Enterprise team members, including Events Officer, Events Assistant, Shop Manager & Shop Assistant, Visitor Engagement Officer, and the Families Engagement Officer.
  • To be the Cathedral point of contact for management issues related to the employees of the Café Restaurant franchisee.
  • To attend Diary Management and Head of Department Meetings.
  • To ensure all marketing and relevant information reaches the marketing team in a timely manner.

  Shop

  • To direct the Shop team to provide value for money in the Shop, delivering an excellent level of service to the community and a level of income required by the Cathedral budget.

  Visitor Engagement & Families Programme

  • To direct the Visitor Engagement Officer and Family Engagement Officer to deliver the wide programme of tours, concerts, and Family engagement days, broadening our visitor numbers and demographic and managing the outreach activities actively and effectively.​

About the role

CARE International UK is looking for a Programme Officer to provide administrative support within our Programme and Policy Department.

Job Purpose 

The weekend Home & Settle Project Officer is responsible for responding to referrals received over the weekend from both Royal London Hospital & Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. You will work with the manager on Friday to deliver services and plan visits on the weekend for you to attend.  

The service supports people returning after a stay in hospital, helping them to settle back at home, regain confidence and support with some practical tasks, e.g. shopping/cleaning.  You will manage referrals, carry out assessments, and in liaison with the manager, allocate service users to Discharge and Settle Worker caseloads. You will provide direct frontline support and co-ordinate visits to the service users’ home in preparation for their return home. You will work collaboratively to lead and manage the weekend service to support the smooth transition from hospital to home for service users.  The service is time limited, up to 4 or 6 weeks, to adjust, build confidence, and settle back in their homes. 

Key Tasks 

• Act as the first point of contact for all referrals over the weekend across both hospitals. 

• Meet with patients in the community and/or hospital and carrying out assessments and risk assessments.

• Enter referrals on to AUKEL’s case management system (currently Charity Log) in accordance with GDPR guidelines. 

• Allocate referrals to Discharge and Settle workers (in the week) using tech available (currently the Call Round App), training will be available. 

• Collect feedback from service users and upload to case management system. 

• Prepare and keep stock of AUKEL Welcome Packs and service leaflets. 

• Deputise for the manger at discharge planning and other meetings as required. 

• Support hospitals to improve the patient’s experience of the discharge process. 

• Monitor the case loads of each of the Discharge and Settle workers (DSW) to ensure they are evenly and fairly balanced. 

• Work collaboratively with other agencies providing support services. 

• Work with people with a range of needs, dealing with issues ranging from social isolation and keeping people engaged in their community, to preventing unnecessary readmission to hospital. 

• Plan and develop person centred interventions to provide short term support for people after hospital discharge. 

• Deliver the front-line support services over the weekend

• Provide occasional cover for the A/L of other Project Officers

• Work with people with a range of needs, dealing with issues ranging from social isolation and keeping people engaged in their community, to preventing unnecessary admission to hospital. 

• Supervise, support and develop DSWs and volunteers in your service. 

• Liaise with the handyperson service about referrals and jobs for service users. 

• Ensure DSW are resourced to sign post service users to other services when the home and settle service intervention ends. 

• Arranging access visits to service user’s homes. 

Administration 

• Keep AUKEL’s case management system up to date, input all data, and ensure all referrals, interventions, time spent with service users are recorded. 

• Allocate referrals to DSW using tech available (currently - Charity Log ‘Call Round’ App). 

• Ensure wards have good supply of service leaflets and referral forms. 

• Ensure data collected meets the requirements of the service’s contract monitoring and key performance indicators. 

• Ensure customer feedback questionnaires are sent at the end of each intervention and record returns. 

• Ensure admin tasks relating to service users, Discharge and Settle workers or general admin is carried out in a timely and efficient manner.

• Provide cover as needed, i.e. annual leave and sickness, for the services you manage, and other hospital settle services provided by AUKEL 

• Carry out monitoring of the service ensuring it meets the contractual requirements of commissioners. 

Quality  

• Be familiar with and to implement AUKEL policies and procedures. 

• Ensure the service is delivered in accordance with Care Quality Commission fundamental standards. 

• Ensure integration with other AUKEL projects, and service users are referred and/or sign-posted to appropriate support services available to them.

• Liaise with contractors to arrange deliveries and works to service user’s homes.

We have an exciting opportunity for an integral role which sits within the Information Governance team, in the Practice and Compliance division!

The Information Governance team are the champions of Data Protection and Information Governance within Alzheimer's Society. The team’s key objective is to enable all areas to use information appropriately whilst achieving the Society’s overall aim of creating a world without dementia. The Senior Information Governance Officer will support the wider Information Governance team in achieving this objective.  They will be the first point of contact in the Society for data protection, information governance and records management questions, providing advice and guidance as appropriate to ensure the safe and legal processing of information. These queries will be from across the Society and could be in relation to service delivery, fundraising, campaigns, IT, volunteering or employment matters.

About you
We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual looking for a fresh challenge and wishing to make a real difference to the lives of people affected by dementia. We are looking for

- Great knowledge and experience of managing information in line with Data Protection legislation and regulations 
- Ability to Experience within a data protection or information governance role of advising colleagues across an organisation on how to comply with privacy requirements across a range of situations. 
- Good understanding of records management concepts, technologies and standards, and experience of advising on and applying these in a business context
- Proven experience working in a fast paced and responsive environment, possessing good time management and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills are a must as you will be engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

What you’ll focus on:

- Information Governance team activities including completing Data Protection Impact Assessments, undertaking supplier Due Diligence, managing rights requests and responding to queries
- Managing incidents, advising on remedial actions, supporting the business to identify root cause, notifying the regulator as required
- Analysing and producing reports on data protection risks, incidents, rights requests for various groups and committees within the Society
- Co-ordinating Society’s Information Asset Register reviews and advising Asset Owners and Managers on their responsibilities
- Advising the Society on records management topics, updating and maintaining retention schedules and records management procedures
- Co-ordinating Society responses to annual NHS Data Security & Protection Toolkit, including check and challenge on proposed responses from business areas
- Developing and delivering relevant training and awareness content on various topics

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Trusts and Philanthropy fundraiser, to manage a portfolio of high level funders, whose support is vital to the work of Become.

Working closely with the Trusts and Philanthropy Manager and the wider Fundraising team, the postholder will research potential funders, write compelling grant applications, and build strong relationships with funders to ensure continued and increased support. They will have a strong track record of securing five/six-figure funding from trusts and foundations, and other giving vehicles, excellent research and writing skills, and the ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders effectively.

Location

We are currently hybrid working: our team primarily works from home. In-person attendance at some meetings will be expected approximately once or twice every month, usually at our central hot-desking location in Old Street, London. For non-London based staff we will consider hot-desking options near you, if required. Additionally, as a charity providing services to England Become covers the cost of travel within England for essential in-person meetings. We are open to conversations about flexible working arrangements.

Finance

ROLE SUMMARY

This role will be pivotal in devising, executing, and evaluating impactful marketing and communication strategies that resonate with key audiences and advance upReach's mission of transforming social mobility in the UK. The successful candidate will split their time between PR and external affairs (50%) and marketing campaign development and delivery (50%), with flexibility to adjust based on organisational priorities.

Reporting to the Senior Marketing and Communications Manager, and closely collaborating with the Junior Marketing and Communications Manager on specific projects, focussed on increasing press coverage, creating compelling marketing materials, and delivering impactful campaigns. You will work closely with the wider team to ensure all communications align with upReach’s brand, with the ultimate aim of championing upReach's mission to transform social mobility in the UK. You will also support upReach in fulfilling our 2024-27 strategic objectives.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

PR, External Affairs & Policy:

• PR Strategy: Contribute to the development and implementation of a PR strategy to raise awareness of upReach and the cause of social mobility, secure new partners/funders, and attract student applicants. 

• Media Content: Create press releases, opinion pieces, blogs and research that reflect the charity’s policy positions on key social mobility issues, and keep upReach website up to date with the latest coverage and articles. 

• Impact Monitoring: Track and quality score incoming press coverage to analyse performance and adjust strategies based on incoming insights, pro-actively securing additional backlinks.

• External Stakeholder Management: Help respond to incoming media inquiries, ensuring timely responses and distribution of materials. Cultivate relationships with journalists, media outlets, influencers, other social mobility organisations, and other key stakeholders to expand upReach’s visibility, updating the CRM and journalist database accordingly.

• Media, Policy and Research Monitoring: Track and respond to relevant social mobility and education-related policy changes in the UK, ensuring upReach has an active voice in these discussions where appropriate and disseminating key updates to the wider team. 

• Award Submissions: Support the identification and submission of high-quality award entries to build upReach’s profile across key target sectors.

• Crisis Communications: Support in the preparation of responses to any external inquiries or crises, ensuring upReach’s reputation is protected.

• Patron and Ambassador Research: Assist in the research of potential high-profile ambassadors for upReach, ensuring they align with our mission and values.

Marketing Campaigns:

• Student Attraction: Support the delivery of upReach’s student attraction strategy to raise awareness of upReach amongst eligible undergraduate students.

• Campaign Support: Assist in the planning and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns that drive engagement with beneficiaries, partners, donors, and funders.

• Content Creation: Work closely with the marketing team to produce compelling digital and print content, including case studies, social media posts/templates, blogs, email campaigns, videos and more.

• Brand Consistency: Assist in reviewing external-facing materials to ensure they align with upReach’s brand guidelines, tone of voice, and key messages. Act in a consulting role to support the successful delivery of Associate-focussed communications. 

• Marketing Asset Management: Maintain a comprehensive inventory of marketing materials, ensuring resources remain up-to-date and relevant, while monitoring distribution amongst the team.

• Monitoring and Evaluation: Assist in reporting on the success of campaigns using tools like Google Analytics and social media insights.

• Collaborative Marketing: Collaborate with other charities, higher education institutions, and student societies, to develop co-marketing opportunities that expand programme reach among target student audiences.

Other responsibilities:

• Manage the External Affairs rotation to help one member of the Future Charity Leaders Programme (FCLP), upReach’s internal graduate scheme, to learn more about this area of the charity.

• Continue to develop skills, knowledge and best practice that will enable you to excel in the role, including training on pitching to the media, crafting compelling content and building press relationships.

• Undertake other marketing, communications or administrative tasks that are required within this role.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone who is passionate about social mobility and believe that background should not be a barrier to graduate employment. 

To be successful, you would ideally have experience in marketing and communications, particularly in executing PR and policy strategies, facilitating media relations and/or running successful communications campaigns. While not required, experience within a charity, social impact or education-focused organisation would also be highly beneficial for this role.

Required skills:

• Written Communication: Ability to write in a clear and persuasive way that breaks down complex issues into digestible content (e.g. press releases, social media posts and newsletters). Excellent verbal communication for networking, media relations, and public speaking.

• Creativity and Storytelling: Strong creative flair to develop engaging content and narrative that resonate with different audiences across digital and traditional platforms.

• Media Knowledge: Good understanding of the media landscape, with experience in managing media contacts, securing coverage, and building relationships with the press.

• Attention-to-Detail: Strong eye for detail, including excellent proofreading and editing skills, to ensure high-quality, error-free content.

• Brand Awareness: Understanding of how to promote and protect upReach’s brand reputation and the importance of maintaining brand-compliant messaging across all platforms.

• Project Management: Strong organisational and project management skills, with experience handling multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. Ability to quickly adapt to changing situations, including responding to media inquiries or handling unexpected challenges.

• Pro-activity: A proactive attitude and an ability to suggest, research and implement new ideas to achieve our organisational objectives.

• Hands-on experience with some or all of the following tools/software:

About the Role

Dreams Come True is seeking an ambitious, strategic and highly skilled Head of Fundraising to lead and expand its income generation and manage and drive a high performing team. This senior role prioritises the development and delivery of an ambitious major donor and individual giving strategy - cultivating, stewarding, and upgrading supporters, including high-net-worth individuals and regular donors. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will diversify income streams, maximise philanthropic support, and ensure the charity's long-term sustainability whilst leading, managing, motivating and inspiring the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a growth-oriented fundraising strategy, with a strong focus on major donor fundraising and individual giving (regular giving, donor journeys, legacy giving).
• Build a robust pipeline of major donors, personally managing relationships with high-value supporters, cultivating new prospects, and maximising lifetime value through tailored stewardship.
• Oversee the design and execution of engaging campaigns and supporter journeys for individual and legacy donors.
• Direct and support building other fundraising streams (trusts & foundations, events, digital, community), setting ambitious yet achievable income targets.
• Monitor, analyse, and report on fundraising performance, using data-driven insights to identify opportunities and refine approaches.
• Inspire, manage, and develop the fundraising team, fostering a culture of collaboration, high performance, and innovation.
• Ensure policy, governance and compliance with all relevant fundraising legislation and sector regulation.
• Represent the charity in external meetings, building networks and leveraging senior volunteers and Trustees to extend philanthropic reach.
• Translate complex beneficiary needs into compelling cases for support, proposals, and stewardship reports that resonate with donors and partners.

Person Specification

Essential:

• Demonstrated success in major donor fundraising, including personally securing substantial gifts (five and six figures); proven ability to build from scratch, cultivate and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals.
• Proven expertise in individual giving, including donor journeys, donor retention and engagement, and developing bespoke campaigns.
• Strong leadership skills, with a track record of building, motivating, and developing high-performing fundraising teams.
• Up-to-date understanding of the fundraising compliance environment (Fundraising Regulator's Code, GDPR, PECR).
• Outstanding communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
• Analytical mindset and the ability to use data to inform strategy, track performance, and drive growth.
• Creative approach to stewardship, recognising, thanking, and meaningfully involving supporters at all levels.
• Passion, resilience, and integrity aligned with the charity’s mission.
• A recognised fundraising qualification (e.g. Certificate/Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Fundraising or equivalent).
• Inspiring and experienced team leader.

Desirable:

• Experience with innovative donor engagement, digital tools, and CRM/database systems.
• Background in a similar scale or mission-driven UK charity.
