About the Role

This senior role is responsible for ensuring strong financial control, regulatory compliance, and the accurate and timely reporting of financial information. You will lead on statutory financial reporting, audit, treasury management and tax compliance, supporting the organisation’s strategic and operational decision-making.

Working closely with the Director of Finance and key internal and external stakeholders, your work will ensure the charity's financial integrity, transparency, and efficiency and will directly support National Star’s ability to deliver high-quality services to those who need them most.

We are not standing still and key to this role will be a drive for change, challenging existing systems and controls to ensure that the organisation is using best practice to minimise risk whilst shaping and strengthening our financial systems at a time of growth and innovation.

• Experienced in delivering strategic accessibility interventions and influencing positive change at all levels of a large and complex organisation and the wider sector
• Personal commitment to making a tangible difference to accessibility with a focus on physical disability, sensory disabilities and neurodiverse people and communities.
• An advocate and practitioner of accessible design and clear communication
• Background and confidence in working with people with lived experience of access barriers and providing support and advice to organisations around accessibility.
• Comfortable to proactively challenge internal policy, practices and communications to better include marginalised groups. 
• Expertise on accessible communications, with experience working to improve standards of internal communications and co-designing engaging content for external communication
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to role model and drive behaviour change across all areas of accessibility
• In depth knowledge of accessibility standards and best practise within the UK. Including: WCAG, social model of disability, universal design principles, access to work, reasonable adjustments and working application of the Equality Act 2010

The International Chief Support Officer will assume responsibility for all central operational functions across the organisation, namely HR, Finance, Facilities, Technology and Data.

The role of the Head of DDaT Portfolio Delivery will have:

• Deep understanding of software development, IT infrastructure, DevOps, Agile, and Scrum practices, with experience in AI, ML, RPA, UX, design, end-user testing, and requirements gathering.
• Ability to analyse complex problems, devise solutions, and make informed decisions under pressure.
• Identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure projects stay on track.

What we’re looking for:

• Extensive experience delivering complex digital and tech-enabled programs, with deep knowledge of healthcare technology ecosystems (e.g., NHS Digital, EPRs, FHIR, GDPR, DSPT).
• Proficient in Agile, Scrum, DevOps, SAFe, Lean, and Waterfall, ensuring efficient delivery across cross-functional teams.
• Proven leadership in digital/data/technology strategy, including authoring and presenting strategic documents to executive teams.
• Skilled in developing and deploying client-facing digital solutions (e.g., portals, remote monitoring, digital health apps), ensuring compliance, usability, and smooth go-live transitions.

• Experienced in BI and data strategy projects, including integration, analytics, automation, and emerging technologies (RPA, AI, ML).

• Skilled in measuring ROI on tech initiatives using KPIs and cost-benefit analysis.
• Strong project management skills across the full lifecycle, blending PRINCE2 governance with Agile and Waterfall delivery.
• Experienced in Agile product development—from strategy to launch—and translating complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Deep knowledge of emerging digital trends and their strategic applications.
• Flexible to travel and work outside core hours as required.
• Established and led PMO practices to ensure strategic alignment, risk management, resource planning, and continuous improvement.

About this job

As the HR Officer you’ll be responsible for providing an efficient, friendly and high-quality HR and recruitment service to our amazing internal customers across the organisation.

You’ll also be undertaking general HR support and provide cover for colleagues within the HR Operations team as and when required.

You will have relevant experience of working with people with mental health needs within a person centred, recovery focused framework and will demonstrate knowledge of mental health needs/conditions, recovery principles and helpful interventions. You will have skills in promoting independence, tenancy sustainment and positive risk management.
