The Head of Region provides strategic and operational leadership in the region, ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the regional team and the successful development and delivery of the regional business plan and projects. The role drives the achievement of key performance indicators and targets with a particular focus on church income and community engagement.
Key relationships
Internally, the Head of Region works closely with the Director of Operations and other Heads of Region to support consistent operational delivery, and management and development of regional staff. The role also interacts closely with all other CCT teams including Conservation, Fundraising & Communication, Initiatives & Partnerships, and Finance.
Externally, the Head of Region is CCT’s regional representative, brokering joint working and engagement with statutory and Church of England stakeholders, funders, politicians at all levels, volunteers, communities and donors.

Since 2000, SongBird Survival has been fighting for a better future for UK songbirds, and they are the only national UK charity solely dedicated to make a positive impact for songbirds in the face of this devastating ecological emergency. SongBird Survival do this by commissioning independent scientific research into the causes of the catastrophic decline in songbird numbers, translating research findings into actionable strategies, which aim to make a tangible difference in the protection and preservation of songbird populations. They also campaign for change, working with other NGOs and policymakers.
The Scientific Research and Impact Manager role is at the heart of SongBird Survival’s mission, ensuring that their research not only advances scientific understanding but also influences policy change, engages stakeholders, and strengthens communications and fundraising strategies. The postholder will oversee research projects, build key partnerships, and turn findings into practical conservation strategies.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
- Degree level education in Ecology or an appropriate discipline or equivalent experience, with comprehensive knowledge of songbird and other small bird ecology.
- Knowledge and understanding of how scientific research is commissioned and delivered, as well as the ability to assimilate and appraise relevant information.
- Track record of translating scientific findings into policy, communications and stakeholder engagement.

About the role
We’re looking to recruit a Head of Grants Management to join our Financial Planning & Analysis unit which provides timely financial planning and reporting across the whole organisation. Managing a small team, you will deliver first class financial support on over 160 grants and £32m of expenditure. This will involve overseeing the outgoing grant lifecycle, including due diligence on grantees, preparation of grant agreements and amendments as well as managing the timing of payments.
As Head of Grants Management, you will lead on our grant management processes and ensure these are compliant with our standards and policies. Important will be the ability to conduct due diligence on new grantees, follow up on due diligence actions and review due diligence annually on existing grantees. We’re looking for someone with:
- Hands on experience in grant management.
- Significant experience in managing, leading and coaching a team.
- Accountancy qualification (part or fully qualified) or qualified by experience with exposure to compliance activities such as due diligence.
- Experience in, and a passion for excellence in, process management, and the ability to identify and implement process improvements.

About the role
We’re looking to recruit a Senior Finance Analyst to join a small team working in our Financial Planning & Analysis unit. The team work together to provide financial support and advice across a wide portfolio of programmes with a variety of funding sources.
As Senior Finance Analyst you will help support the financial management of projects, programmes and donor restricted funds. · Accountancy experience & ideally part or fully qualified.
· Experience of preparing donor bids & reports, knowledge of donor rules and regulations for high-compliance donors would be an advantage.
· Significant experience of providing financial reports & information to non-finance staff & supporting them in the management of budgets.
· Experience of delivering against monthly recurring deadlines.
· Good knowledge of finance applications (preferably Business Central).
