Job description

Working for You is a service run by Barnet Mencap that provides adults with moderate learning disabilities and/or high-functioning Autism information, advice, and guidance on a wide range of issues. We are looking for one focused individual to join full-time or two to join part-time*. The job offers both challenge and satisfaction, and will suit someone who meets the following criteria:

  • Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and/or Autism
  • Good working knowledge of safeguarding issues facing people with learning disabilities and/or Autism
  • Good team member
  • Understands the issues faced by people with learning disabilities and/or Autism living within the London Borough of Barnet
  • Have a person-centered planning ethos
  • Excellent communication and literacy skills
  • Able to advocate strongly for service users
