We are seeking a  committed and creative Outreach and Communications Officer who will be responsible for sharing our knowledge and expertise as widely as possible.

About The Role

The Unity Project (TUP) supports people who are facing poverty and homelessness because their immigration status allows them ‘no recourse to public funds’ (NRPF).  We believe NRPF should not exist and we are working to end it. Until then, we seek to minimise its impact by supporting people to make the ‘change of conditions’ (CoC) application to access public funds. However, as the number of people living under NRPF continues to grow, we know we will never be able to meet the need for CoCs. Ensuring that our knowledge and experience is shared - with advisors, support services, community groups and individuals who could make applications themselves - is vital. Raising awareness of our work also supports our income diversification strategy by building corporate partnerships and individual donations.

In this role, you will be leading The Unity Project’s outreach and communications work in order to increase awareness of the Change of Conditions process and the support The Unity Project can offer to individuals and organisations.  Your first priorities will include mapping CoC provision across the country; working with the Director to design and implement a communications strategy to engage applicants, advice organisations, corporate partners and donors; and creating a suite of CoC resources to share online. As you develop in the role, you will deliver outreach and information sessions online and in the community. We hope that over time you will have the opportunity to grow, take on new responsibilities and help to shape how we do outreach and communications as we evolve.

• Lead the creation of engaging video, photo and motion content, from concept development through to final delivery, including scripting, storyboarding, filming and editing.
• Oversee photography across The Charity – identifying gaps in our photography, building and developing our image library through regular photoshoots and ensuring that consent processes follow our data management policy.
• Manage, plan, organise and coordinate on-location and studio filming and photoshoots, ensuring shoots run smoothly and meet creative briefs.
• Conduct interviews and film with case studies, capturing authentic stories that connect audiences with The Charity’s work.

Operations Assistant (Full Time – Office Based)  

Job Purpose:
The Operations Assistant provides support to the HR and Operations Manager by taking day to day responsibility, under guidance, for various facilities, safety and administrative processes, including HR administration, as well as responsiblity for locking/unlocking of meeting rooms, routine health and safety tasks and other matters that contribute to making the office a pleasant and functional environment in which to work. 

The duties will also include giving regular support to the Fulfilment Manager and under their guidance, process orders and support with despatch and deliveries, in addition to providing holiday cover, when the Fulfilment Manager is away.

Many aspects of this role require Manual Handling.

• Drive income and centre growth targets across all relevant programmes.

We are delighted to be supporting a national early years charity who are looking to appoint a Communications Officer to their central team. This is a permanent, full-time role (35 hours per week), offered on a hybrid basis with one day a week in their London office and occasional travel to programme sites in Stoke-on-Trent and Redcar & Cleveland.

Turner’s House is a small independent museum in Twickenham housed in a Grade II* listed building, open to the public since 2017. This is a key role in helping secure its long-term sustainability. The Partnerships Director will be responsible for leading all income-generating and related partnership activity (fundraising, commercial hires, marketing/PR, retail, commercial events, donor cultivation etc.), as well as being hands-on in ensuring the House is open and running smoothly, including keyholder responsibilities (opening/closing, occasional weekend or evening work). Working closely with our Operations Manager, you’ll deliver an annual calendar of exciting fundraising events, from local community challenges to large-scale campaigns, ensuring each activity connects people to our mission and delivers excellent supporter experiences.

This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week) with hybrid working based partly at our charity office at University Hospital Southampton (2 – 3 days per week) and partly from home. Some evening and weekend work, plus travel across Hampshire and neighbouring counties will be required.
