Role Summary

The Outreach Manager is responsible for driving the expansion of the Schools Consent Project’s reach, engagement, and impact across London and the South East. Acting as the organisation’s lead “sales” and business development professional, you will contribute to and manage our strong pipeline of partner schools and organisations, convert leads into confirmed bookings, and maximise long-term engagement. 

You will own the end-to-end outreach and partnership journey: from prospecting and lead generation, through relationship development and negotiation, to repeat engagement and retention.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Lead Generation

• Develop and execute a proactive outreach and growth strategy to increase workshop bookings.
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing schools; ensure SCP’s workshop content remains responsive and reactive to the emerging concerns of young people when it comes to sex, consent and the online world.
• Generate leads through cold outreach, referrals, events, and campaigns.
• Contribute to and maintain a pipeline of new schools and educational settings.
• Reinvigorate historic relationships with schools.

Account Management

• Convert enquiries and prospects into confirmed programme partners.
• Present the charity’s offer and impact to senior school leaders, safeguarding leads, and decision-makers.
• Manage key accounts and ensure high levels of partner satisfaction and retention.
• Promote additional workshops and programmes where appropriate (eg. teacher training; parent workshops).
• Track booking trends eg. seasonal vs. reactive bookings; develop a communication strategy around each ‘type’ of school, involving timely booking reminders.

Pipeline, Targets & Performance

• Manage outreach targets for bookings, partnerships, and regional coverage.
• Monitor conversion rates, pipeline value, and performance metrics.
• Produce regular forecasts and performance reports.
• Use data and insight to refine sales strategies and improve outcomes.

Marketing & Promotion

• Help develop compelling outreach materials and campaigns.
• Deliver presentations, webinars, and pitches to prospective educational partners.
• Represent the organisation at conferences, networks, and sector events.
• Help gather case studies, testimonials, and impact data to support outreach and fundraising.

Delivery Coordination

• Work closely with our Volunteer Manager and Operations Manager to match supply with demand.
• Ensure smooth handover from booking to delivery.
• Anticipate capacity constraints and manage partner expectations.

Team Leadership & Development

• Contribute to the development of outreach systems, processes, and tools.
• Share insights and learning across the organisation.
• Oversee team members currently managing school outreach.

More about the role:As Fundraising & Communications Manager you will plan and deliver two organisation-wide appeals each year, with a combined income target of £300,000. About Rockinghorse Children’s Charity

Rockinghorse Children’s Charity supports sick and disabled children across Sussex. We support babies, children, and young people, along with their families, at The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and The Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton and all the specialist children’s wards and baby units throughout Sussex. 

We deliver and fund projects that enable doctors and nurses to do more. All of projects are led by the needs of children and young people and their families – the lifesaving medical equipment, the support for parents and families, the toys for children spending time in hospitals across Sussex, the environments and spaces that help children feel more at home when they are in hospital and additional staff to make sure children get the best possible care when they are unwell. 

Originally set up in 1967 by Dr Trevor Mann, we have been supporting children for more than 55 years, and in that time, we have supported nearly a million children and their families. As the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, including the Trevor Mann Baby Unit, we work with the NHS, charity partners, and the Sussex community to ensure children can be children no matter now sick they are.

About the role

Rockinghorse delivers more than 70 impactful projects each year to support sick and disabled babies, children, and young people across Sussex. As our programmes grow, we are seeking a highly organised and proactive Project Coordinator to support the day‑to‑day delivery of our projects and services.

Reporting to the Senior Projects Manager, this role will play a vital part in ensuring our projects run smoothly on time and on budget. You will work closely with NHS Champions (doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals), internal colleagues and external partners to help coordinate activities, gather information, maintain accurate records, and support the successful delivery of all our projects.

This is a hands‑on, operational role, offering an opportunity to develop project management skills within a friendly and impactful children’s charity. You’ll play an important part in ensuring our projects make a meaningful difference to children and families across Sussex.

Duties of the role 

Delivering incredible projects that save and improve lives.

Rockinghorse delivers and funds around 70 projects per year – supporting sick and disabled children in hospital.

Project Delivery & Day‑to‑Day Coordination

· Support the administration, coordination, and delivery of Rockinghorse projects across Sussex.

· Maintain project schedules, trackers, documentation, and communication logs.

· Organise meetings, site visits, check‑ins, project reviews, and installations.

· Coordinate logistics for small projects, including ordering items, liaising with suppliers, and arranging deliveries.

· Ensure accurate filing and record‑keeping across all project documentation.

· Prepare project reports for internal use.

· Support the Senior Projects Manager on the scoping out, development and implementation of new areas of work and projects for the charity.

· Maintain records on the projects database ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.

· Co-ordinate seasonal projects (e.g. Easter, Christmas) including collections and deliveries with supporters and beneficiaries.

Working with NHS Staff & Project Champions

· Support NHS staff and Rockinghorse Champions and NHS staff  to develop and submit project proposals.

· Organise and deliver our biannual Projects Days, including scheduling, logistics, communication and follow‑up.

· Build positive working relationships with doctors, nurses, and healthcare teams to support smooth project development and delivery.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Impact

· Collect data, feedback, photos, and evaluation information for all projects.

· Support the Senior Projects Manager with implementing the charity’s impact and evaluation frameworks.

· Help prepare impact summaries for fundraising, communications, and reporting purposes.

· Provide regular updates to colleagues across Fundraising, Communications and Operations.

HFEH Mind has an exciting part-time opportunity for a creative lead on our new project focusing on the intersect between climate change and young people’s mental health. The London Mental Health and Climate Coalition is a 3 year National Lottery project which includes various partners, who are coming together to connect climate action with mental wellbeing.

 We are looking for someone with experience in creating youth focussed media or content and an interest in climate action and/or mental health. No prior experience in climate change action or mental health is required.

This role will involve:

- Creating both long and short form content for our social media platforms which will be distributed across the Thrive LND partnership.  

- Developing a social media campaign to promote children and young people’s personal wellbeing in the climate emergency.

- Running a co-production youth panel to inform activities around climate action.

- Co-creating workshops and a toolkit to support with eco-anxiety.

About the team​

The Investment Team is responsible for selecting portfolio partners, managing our charity investments and supporting our portfolio partners to improve and scale their impact.

The Investment Team also leads the Impetus Leadership Academy, a leadership development programme to support talent from ethnic minority backgrounds in the UK youth sector to progress into senior leadership roles.

The team is made up of 19 people, including former teachers, charity chief executives, charity impact leads, management consultants, social investment portfolio managers and impact consultants.

The team is led by a Portfolio Director who sits on the Senior Management Team. The Portfolio Director has 5 direct reports: a Deputy Portfolio Director, three Sector Leads (who lead our work in School engagement, School attainment and Employment Sectors) and an Impact Lead. Sector Leads line manage 6 Investment Directors. Investment Directors line manage Investment Managers (currently 6). Investment Directors and Investment Managers tend to primarily focus on a sector but might have mixed portfolios, depending on need, experience and interest.

The Investment Team has a good track record of role progression. All four Leads and a number of our Investment Directors were promoted from within the team.

Key responsibilities

Finding high potential charities and non-profit organisations to join our portfolio

• Supporting the annual cycle of identifying new investments - mapping the landscape of charities in thematic areas (e.g. Apprenticeships and Skills), conducting structured analysis of key impact and financial data and reviewing the current evidence base to identify high potential charities and inform options for Investment Directors.
• ​Contributing to due diligence of new organisations by reviewing quantitative and qualitative charity information ) and preparing clear assessments of suitability for investment; This includes considering impact and scale potential, financial stability and summarising risks and recommendations for senior review. Requires strong relationship management, in co-ordination with Investment Directors, when engaging with potential charity partners.

Supporting and managing relationships with portfolio partners 

• Working closely with Investment Directors to support portfolio partners across all areas of our work - leadership, impact and sustainability – owning defined(e.g. impact management or financial analysis).

​The Biochemical Society are seeking a Training Manager, on an 18-month Fixed Term contract to support the Biochemical Society Training programmes.
