The Opportunity   

This role is central to shaping and delivering the Social Mobility Foundation’s media, public affairs, and campaigning work, alongside the Campaigns Manager. You will influence changemakers - including politicians and journalists - through strategic media, political, and social media interventions. You will also collaborate with our Young Campaigners to amplify their voices and co-create impactful campaigns with them that drive systemic change.

1. Helping to plan and deliver campaigns activity, both planned and reactive, including: 

• Organising campaign events e.g. Parliamentary receptions and communicating our campaigns online and on social media.
• Assisting the Campaigns Manager to commission research and polling support our campaigning.
• Monitoring parliamentary activity, and horizon scanning - considering how political developments may affect our campaigning work, providing opportunities and risks. 

2. Leading our media work to maximise the impact of our campaigning, building awareness of social mobility as an issue amongst influential and informed audiences: 

• Developing and executing media and communication plans to support our campaign goals.
• Monitoring the media and responding to stories that allow us to land our key messages, share our point of view and platform SMF young people.
• Responding to requests from journalists for comment and advising and briefing members of staff on how to respond.

3. Co-create campaigns alongside our Young Campaigners and engage them in delivering and designing campaign activity:

In this role, you will lead on planning, delivering, and monitoring AI projects in collaboration with our partner organisations. We’re now looking for a Grants Manager to join our small, collaborative team and play a key role in delivering our funding programmes. You’ll help shape and manage our giving across three key areas – Charity, Education and Leather – from assessing applications and managing relationships with grantees, to leading our Small Grants and Student Grants programmes. Every day, your work will directly help individuals, charities and educationalists tackling some of society’s toughest challenges, from supporting young people to empowering communities and fostering opportunity and social mobility through education.

We’re seeking someone who brings experience of grant-making, a good understanding of the charity sector, and a genuine enthusiasm for building meaningful relationships with the organisations and individuals we support. You’ll thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment, balancing strategic thinking and relationship building with hands-on agile delivery. Sophie Hayes Foundation (SHF) is a small but mighty charity, empowering women survivors of 
modern slavery and exploitation. It is an important time at SHF. Our new strategy ‘Sustainable 
Freedom from Modern Slavery’ launched in 2024 and this role is essential for the delivery of the 
strategy and ensuring that survivors of modern slavery, human trafficking, and exploitation have
access to the support and opportunities they need to achieve their aspirations, independence 
and a positive future. With soaring numbers of referral to the NRM and thousands more victims 
living in fear of a hostile environment, this has never been more important than now. 

At the heart of Sophie Hayes Foundation’s work will be the support to and empowerment of 
survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking and this role is critical to survivors’ journeys 
to sustainable freedom. 

Alongside a small, friendly and dedicated team, you will coordinate and deliver our 
programmes for survivors of modern slavery, including our flagship Employability Programme 
(EP) and our Conversational English for Independence (CEFI) course. 

You will also work in close partnership of the development and delivery of new programmes for 
survivors, embodying our strategic aim of ‘meeting survivors where they are and taking them to 
where they want to be’. You will champion the voices of survivors through the work of the 
organisation, working with colleagues in CREW to provide continued support to survivors’ long 
term.

About the Role

• Deliver Sophie Hayes Foundations Employability Programme and Conversational English for Independence Course to survivors.
• Support development and growth of these and other future programmes.
• Take responsibility for all programme logistics and communications with partners, survivors, and suppliers. 
• Accurate data input to and management of internal monitoring and finance systems, working closely with the Head of Programmes to analyse trends and contribute to reporting. 
• Actively engage with local, regional, and national partners and anti-slavery networks
• To maintain effective survivor referral pathways and raise awareness of the Foundation’s work.
• Supervise and manage Employability Programme volunteers.
• Contribute to centring survivor perspectives in the work of Sophie Hayes Foundation by sharing and channelling learning from programme delivery to colleagues. Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding across all learning and development activities.
• Other duties which may arise under the implementation of the new strategy, as directed by the Head of Employability Programme.

This role would suit someone who is passionate about supporting others and empowering them 
to take the next steps in their journey. 

You may have prior experience as a teacher, caseworker or charity coordinator. 
We are looking for a team member who is organised, efficient, reliable, empathetic and ready to 
get stuck in helping across our range of survivor services.

Every year, thousands of young people arrive in the UK seeking safety. We believe in their potential and are driven to help them thrive.

Our residential experiences often begin this journey, creating space for friendships, confidence and belonging. We run a nationally certified Leadership Training Programme and regular Youth Hubs in London and Bristol that offer year-round support and community.

We are now recruiting a London Community Coordinator to lead and grow our London Hub – a welcoming weekly space where young people come together to connect, learn and lead.

Hub Leadership & Delivery

• Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of London Hub sessions.

• Manage referrals, onboarding and attendance using OSH’s CRM.

• Oversee safeguarding and risk assessments for all hub activity.

• Coordinate volunteers, facilitators and logistics to ensure smooth sessions.

• Promote OSH activities and support recruitment of participants.

Youth Leadership & Volunteers

• Support progression into OSH’s Leadership Training Programme.

• Create meaningful leadership and volunteering opportunities.

• Build a local group of volunteers and support their development.

Partnerships & Community

• Maintain relationships with referrers, partners and local organisations.

• Ensure smooth movement of participants between OSH programmes.

• Represent OSH at sector events and in London networks.

Safeguarding, Systems & Administration

• Maintain accurate registration, data and safeguarding records.

• Ensure GDPR-compliant data handling.

• Manage petty cash and reimbursements responsibly.

Contribution to OSH Nationally

• Join national events and residentials (2–5 nights).

• Share stories and insights to support communications and fundraising.

• Experience working with young people, ideally from refugee or marginalised backgrounds.

• Strong facilitation skills and understanding of trauma-informed, inclusive practice.

The Senior Organisational Projects Officer will lead the planning and directing of priority cross-organisational projects at YoungMinds, to meet goals, budgets, and deadlines by managing scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and quality. This includes managing flagship initiatives such as the Hello Yellow fundraising and awareness campaign, implementation of new technology and systems, and other transformation initiatives, applying conventional project management approaches alongside strong relationship management and agile methods where beneficial.
