About the Role

Reporting to the Service Director, the Head of Continuous Improvement will lead and coordinate initiatives that enhance the quality, efficiency and consistency of our services for beneficiaries. You will design and implement a robust quality assurance framework, ensure operational data integrity, and drive service and process improvements that align with our strategic objectives.

You’ll work closely with the Data & Insights team to ensure data and evidence inform service development, delivery, and decision-making. As part of both the Service Leadership Team and the Charity-wide Leadership Team, you’ll collaborate with colleagues across Operations, Marketing & Communications, and Commercial to champion a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organization that puts people first. We support coastal fishers in remote and rural communities to rebuild fisheries, restore ocean life and build lasting pathways to prosperity. We are currently recruiting a Software Developer (R Shiny) to support our evolving operations, supporting our Global Data Science team. Reporting to the Head of Data Engineering, this is a full-time role with occasional travel (1-2 times per year) to work closely with overseas colleagues, partners, field teams and communities.

About This Job

This is an exciting role in Army Cadet Headquarters which provides administrative support to the functional delivery areas of the syllabus. Job Purpose

Communications:

Leading the Education partnerships team,  responsibility for the development of all Educaiton customers and for maintaining the income generation and young people targets in line with the overall Trust strategy and annual requirements.

This a senior management position which is responsible for the strategic direction and the leadership day to day operation of our extremely busy Education Team. You will have a minimum of three years experience of leading, managing and inspiring teams. A supportive approach to the development and coaching of the team is an essential element within this.

Background to School Food Matters

At School Food Matters we believe that school food can unlock a happier, healthier, more sustainable future for every child. We want a school food system that delivers for all children, so they can enjoy nutritious, delicious and sustainable school food and leave school with an informed and positive relationship with food. To achieve this, we campaign for a better school food system, bringing the voices of children, parents, and teachers to government policy, and deliver fully funded food education programmes in schools across the country.

Young Marketeers

This much-loved programme was started in London in 2012. It is now running in 16 cities across England.  We have been commissioned to deliver the programme in Knowsley by Knowsley Public Health. The programme provides hands-on opportunities for children from primary schools to grow fruit and veg from seed to sell at their local market. Young Marketeers is also a platform for School Food Matters to promote food education to schools and communities as a way to support children to live happy and healthy lives. Children learn the art of growing veg from seed, and market traders will share their secrets on how to create a winning market stall. Primary schools will be visited by our gardener in March/April and then again in May/June and receive further tips on how to ensure a bumper crop. Then in July, they head to the market to sell their produce, and to meet the Mayor!

Key Tasks include:

· Assist with recruitment of five schools to take part in Young Marketeers

· Build and maintain relationships with teachers, teaching assistants and senior leaders to ensure the smooth running of the project

· Build and support relationships with contacts in partner organisations

· Schedule, organise and deliver

o One assembly in each school

o Two food growing sessions in each school

o One market trader training session in each school

o Market Day in the city centre in July for all schools

Job Purpose:

This role sits within Family for Every Child’s (Family) Sustainability team, providing comprehensive support for all aspects of financial management.  The Finance Officer will work closely with the Secretariat, providing a central support function for the Sustainability, Impact, and Innovation teams.  This role will support the International Finance Manager (IFM) in building an internal finance function and will work with Family’s outsourced financial service provider in the UK to transition support in-house, ensuring efficient income and expenditure processing, reconciliation and reporting.

This role includes study support to become a qualified accountant (ACCA) with the potential for role development linked to successful exam progression. Family offers a study leave policy of 10 days over a rolling 12 month period (pro rata for part time staff).

Scope and Limits of Authority:

The post holder is expected to organise their own day-to-day activities according to the overall priorities and timescales set, and to exercise sound judgement in many critical decision-making areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance administration

• Principal point of contact for staff and suppliers (purchasing, expenses and payments).

• Managing and organising the finance inbox, ensuring queries are answered in a timely manner and ensuring good supplier relations are maintained.

• Processing all invoices and expenses onto the accounting system, ensuring correct coding and allocation of costs.

• Preparation of domestic and international payment runs, ensuring international payments are compliant with local requirements and following up on any issues.

• Working closely with the Programme Officer to track the status of grants and ensure outgoing payments are received.

• Managing the prepaid cash cards and monthly sign off of spend, supporting staff with purchases and expenses, checking and updating expense claims prior to processing of payment.

• Bank reconciliations, monitoring bank activity, ensuring invoices/expenses paid by direct debit are processed and approved as required, maintaining supplier details up to date.

• Preparation of monthly journal entries for review and approval by the IFM.

• Acting as the main point of contact for staff to provide guidance on all operational financial policies and procedures.

• Leading on continuous improvement to operational finance processes, including the use of AI technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Payroll

• Preparation of monthly UK payroll.  Working closely with the HR Officer to ensure all adjustments are processed.

• Preparation of monthly UK pension submissions within the required deadline.

• Processing all pension changes, including auto-enrolment and adjustments to contributions.

• Checking calculations for EOR and international payrolls.

• Preparation of monthly payroll allocation journals for review and approval by the IFM.

Financial budgeting and reporting

• Supporting and coordinating the budgeting process with the International Finance Manager and budget holders, updating the budget templates and checking the draft budget for accuracy and completeness.

• Supporting the production of monthly and quarterly financial reports and cash flows, reviewing trial balances prior to accounts consolidation, carrying out income reconciliation  review by the International Finance Manager, and completing sample checks of the financial reports.

• Supporting the preparation of the accounts for the annual audit and financial report

• Supporting the Impact team by reviewing project budgets, re-forecasts and financial reports prepared by members

Income processing and reporting

• Carrying out the income reconciliation between the Bank and Salesforce, working with the Database Officer and Analytics & Process Officer to ensure the necessary adjustments to the database are made.

• Ensuring income recognition is in line with accounting standards and preparing and uploading draft journals for recognition of income to Xero.

• Preparing and completing HMRC Gift Aid submission files, monitoring the Gift Aid debtor balance and receipts from HMRC

• Assisting the IG Finance Manager in administering and reporting on legacy income 

• Carrying out financial analysis and reports as needed for donor reporting, forecasting and financial modeling.

Cross Cover support

• HR:  Managing the monthly payroll process with the outsourced provider including provision of data, and checking reports and calculations, for UK payroll and all international payrolls

• HR: Maintaining day to day liaison with line managers and any outsourced payroll and employment providers (EOR).

• Fundraising:  Assisting the Supporter Care team with income processing, including regular payment processes

• Impact:  Assisting the Programme Officer with purchase orders and grant management as needed to cover periods of leave and heavier workloads (i.e. during events, etc…)

• Proven experience of working within a finance function.

• Working knowledge of UK accounting standards, bookkeeping and finance administration

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Head of Funding and Partnershipsis a key member of HACT’s Leadership Team and leads the organisation’s business development, tendering and fundraising function. As part of the management tier, the role is responsible for scaling HACT’s impact across and beyond the housing sector through innovative commercial approaches, strategic fundraising, and exceptional customer relationships.

This position combines fundraising expertise, partnership building, developing and maintaining high-value relationships with funders, partners, and clients, as well as market intelligence. The Head of Funding and Partnerships creates and executes annual fundraising and commercial plans, fosters collaborative relationships across the organisation, and embodies HACT’s values through transparent, supportive leadership. The Resource Futures Education Team has worked over the past 17 years in developing and delivering high quality Education for Sustainable Development programmes, specialising in waste issues.

Your role will be part of the education team in Devon who enable schools and young people to develop more sustainable practices and lifestyles, specifically within the areas of waste reduction, reuse, recycling and composting. 

Our ideal candidate will live in or around the East Devon / Exeter / Teignbridge area, where the majority of delivery will take place, with some home working. For the successful candidate, there may be an opportunity to expand the number of hours you deliver on a short-term basis, dependent on funding opportunities.

What you will be doing

· Develop and deliver high quality education programmes in schools on the 3Rs – reduce, reuse and recycle - and composting, to include: 

o Leading workshops, assemblies and waste audits.

o Advising school staff (including senior staff, cleaners, caretakers, kitchen staff and other non-teaching staff) on educational and practical waste issues. 

o Support or lead school visits to waste management facilities such as recycling centres and energy from waste (EfW) plants. 

· Recruit schools to the programme and ensure bookings, administration and preparation are undertaken to a high standard. 

· Develop new learning and teaching materials to support the programme, including physical and e-resources. 

· Create and maintain effective relationships with Devon County Council, district councils and other relevant organisations. 

· Assist schools in the practicalities of setting up and maintaining their recycling and composting systems, in liaison with district councils. 

· Work in partnership with Devon County Council to run events, competitions and teacher training courses.

People Adviser – Employee Relations

We are seeking a supportive and confident People Adviser with solid employee relations experience to help managers and staff navigate HR issues fairly, consistently, and in line with best practice.

Position: People Adviser – ER
Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 per annum
Location: Remote with occasional travel
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

About the role

This is a hands on role providing first line HR advice and support across the organisation. You will be a trusted point of contact for staff and managers, helping them resolve people issues with confidence while ensuring policies are applied fairly.

You will also support the People Partner and Business Partner with employee relations casework, HR administration, policy compliance, and general queries. Your guidance will help managers lead well, improve consistency, and strengthen staff engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing first line HR advice to managers and employees
• Supporting employee relations cases including performance, disciplinary and grievance matters
• Ensuring HR policies are applied fairly and consistently
• Managing HR administration including contracts, changes, absence records and exit interviews
• Maintaining accurate HR documentation and records
• Supporting policy review and implementation
• Contributing to employee engagement and wellbeing activities
• Helping identify training needs and supporting HR related training
• Managing HR data and preparing reports
• Supporting wider HR projects and continuous improvement

About you

You will be approachable, clear and supportive, confident providing advice and building trust with staff at all levels.

Essential skills and experience:

• Experience providing HR advice and HR administration support
• Knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
• Experience handling employee relations cases
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• CIPD Level 3 or equivalent experience
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Able to handle confidential information with discretion
• Comfortable using HR systems and Microsoft Office

Desirable:

• Experience in the charity, health or social care sector
• Working towards CIPD Level 5
• BSL skills or willingness to learn

You will be joining a specialist national charity supporting the health and wellbeing of deaf people across the UK. Services include care, therapy, advocacy, domestic abuse support, and children and young people’s services. Their work is delivered by deaf people for deaf people in British Sign Language, and they are recognised as one of the largest disabled people’s organisations in the UK.
