About the Role

The Interim Head of Communications and Marketing will lead the operational planning, management and development of the College’s communications and marketing functions.

The role will ensure that the College’s marketing and communications activity has clear objectives, is based on audience insight and is evaluated against defined metrics.

This role is pivotal in shaping and articulating the College’s overarching narrative, integrating messages from across all workstreams into a compelling and engaging story that enhances understanding and raises the profile of the College and its products and services with internal and external audiences.

Working within a small communications team, this role will work with colleagues and clinical representatives to ensure all activity supports the College’s organisational strategy and values. The role requires balancing a marketing mindset with an understanding of the needs and expectations of our membership, ensuring our communications remain relevant and member focused.

Your duties include but are not limited to:

• Contribute to the development of the marketing and communications strategy that has clear objectives, is based on stakeholder research and insight, has a credible operational plan for delivery and clear evaluation metrics.
• Lead the planning and delivery of proactive and responsive marketing and communications across all channels – earned, owned and paid.
• Lead the development and cascade of messages and engagement across the College’s communications channels, ensuring strategic alignment and consistency.
• Be a proactive and collaborative member of the directorate, embodying the College’s values and leading by example.
• Prepare papers, reports and advice for College Boards, Trustees and Council as required.
• Manage the team and project budget(s) for the Marketing and Communications Team.
• Provide direction, support and constructive feedback for team members through regular 1:1 meetings.

How are staff supported to work remotely?

The Role

To support accurate financial administration and effective donor data
management. This role is vital to ensuring that income from donations is

What are you looking for?

• Extensive experience in senior product marketing or senior marketing roles in the life science reagents industry (knowledge to include, minimally, antibodies, cell lines, cell culture)

• Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal

• Demonstrable success in increasing global market share in life science product portfolios through targeted marketing strategy

• Line management experience

• Experience in setting, monitoring and delivering on marketing KPIs, sales targets and communication to management

• Full knowledge of using the marketing channel mix, including digital channel marketing expertise (SEO, PPC, Email, Web, Social, Third Party)

• PhD in a Life Science discipline or BSc/MSc with equivalent commercial research experience (cancer related fields preferred)

The Trustees of The Pixel Fund are excited to appoint the Fund’s first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to oversee the next stage of its growth and development following further generous bequests by the Trust’s settlors, and with planned increases in the level of future grant-making.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a dynamic individual who has the skills, experience and aptitude to work with the Trustees to refine and support delivery of The Pixel Fund’s overall vision and strategy, and to be the public face of the charity.The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the charity, currently carried out by a part-time administrator, which position is to be discontinued following the CEO appointment.

We are looking for an individual with experience of working in a leadership role with a board of Trustees, ideally with hands-on experience in grant-making and grant management, including managing a portfolio of live grant-holders.Strong financial and budgetary management skills are also desirable, in particular to reduce the Charity’s reliance on the Voluntary Treasurer.

The Trustees wish to appoint an individual who has a demonstrable understanding of, and commitment to, supporting the mental health and wellbeing of Children and Young People.The role will include upholding the charity’s vision, values and strategic focus, including championing equality, diversity and inclusion across our work.

The appointment is currently offered on a part-time basis of 3 days per week, with the potential to be extended in future.Candidates should note that The Pixel Fund does not have a permanent base and almost all activity is conducted online (including grant management). 

Hours and place of work are flexible, but as all Trustees are based in the South-East of England, that location is desirable. The successful applicant will be required to attend all Trustee meetings (around 7 a year), which are generally held in the evening (usually online, but occasionally in person) and some travel will be necessary to visit grant holders and other stakeholders.

Support Coordinator

We’re looking for a curious, compassionate and committed individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join a Stroke Recovery Service in the Stockport area. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with stroke survivors and their families, supporting them in rebuilding their lives after stroke.

Position: S11314 Stroke Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based, Stockport, However, regular travel will be required as part of this role

Salary: Circa £18,800 per annum (FTE circa £27,400 per annum)

Hours: Part-time, 24 hours per week

Contract: Our services are contracted; we currently have funding for this contract until 31 March 2026. While continued funding beyond this date cannot be guaranteed, we have maintained regular contracts in this area for many years and are confident in the likelihood of securing future funding

The Role

The service operates in a fast-paced, person-centred environment, where Coordinators identify and respond to the evolving needs of stroke survivors and their carers. This includes delivering structured reviews at six months post-stroke, supporting stroke survivors in their ongoing recovery and helping them achieve their personal goals.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Work as part of a team to plan and deliver engaging peer support and communication groups
• Attend multi-disciplinary meetings with the local stroke therapy team, contributing to joined-up care
• Recruit, train and manage volunteers to enhance service delivery (experience in volunteer management is an advantage)
• Support stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community, offering personalised advice and guidance
• Provide resources for stroke survivors to make informed lifestyle changes to reduce the risk of further strokes
• Deliver Stroke Reviews at six months post-stroke

About You

You will have experience in:

• Excellent IT skills and an ability to maintain accurate records
• An affinity with the values of the Stroke Association
