I am working exclusively with a respected not-for-profit organisation who are currently in the market for a very proactive and experienced HR Administrator to join their HR team, working on a 6-month fixed-term contract with the view of potentially extending (via a fair and open process). You will be responsible for providing effective and efficient administrative support to the HR team.

You will act as a first point of contact for HR related administrative queries and support the team with a wide variety of HR tasks. This will include recruitment support and candidate liaison, administration support for the learning and development programme, new starter onboarding, HR inbox management as well as arranging meetings, and providing light diary and administration support for the HR Director.

Key Duties

Administration and support

• As a member of the HR team, you will ensure that all administration activities which support the work of the HR team are managed in a proactive and efficient way.
• Support the daily proactive management of the HR inbox, ensuring that appropriate action is taken to respond and forward relevant emails to the HR team with follow-up actions if needed.
• Provide administrative support to the HR Director, which could include room booking, arranging meetings and other ad-hoc requests.
• Maintain and keep up-to-date digital employee files and ensure employment records and documents are compliant, filed and retained according to data management and retention guidelines. Support a longer-term project to move to full digitisation of all HR files.
• Input data into the HR information system and other agreed systems such as address changes, holiday requests etc.
• Maintain structure charts, recruitment spreadsheets and HR activity trackers to ensure they are set up and utilised in the most effective way.
• Support the delivery of HR or L&D projects or events, including room bookings and catering administration
• Responsible for financial administration such as purchase orders, setting up new suppliers and invoice management
• Keep up to date with relevant employment law and understanding of various HR administrative activities

Recruitment Administration

• Support employment and recruitment administration, including liaison with employment agencies, candidates and hiring managers
• Prepare, review and amend letters and documents to support key HR activities, including employee onboarding, probation and induction.
• Conduct new starter HR inductions and support exit arrangements
• Ensure that the relevant HR activity checklists are up-to-date and stored correctly for each activity
• Maintain any trackers that support the HR team activities and be responsible for the consistent use and application of these as sources of accurate HR information.

Systems

• Support the team in the move towards two new HR platforms this year, and any additional administration around these projects.
• Maintain the HRIS system and Applicant Tracking System where appropriate
• Provide administration support for logging, reviewing and editing data requests within the HR Information system as well as new starter and leaver IT requests.

• Excellent administrative experience and evidence of supporting a range of activities to support core business needs
• Understanding of the end-to-end recruitment process, from advertising jobs, arranging interviews, drafting contracts and onboarding.

Role Description

BASIC is seeking a motivated and dynamic Project Manager (Policy Fellow) to lead BASIC’s deliverables within our joint project with the Federation of the American Scientists (FAS): ‘From the Noise, the Signal’. 

The project investigates how emerging and disruptive technologies (EDTs) pose credible threats and disrupt traditional assumptions regarding relative military advantages and disadvantages. One such assumption is the traditional dominance of hiders over seekers in the military domain which appears to be increasingly challenged by a package of EDTs. These technologies operate across military domains, including: outer space and the upper atmosphere, air, ground, sea surface, undersea, and cyber. Research has, however, not yet fully assessed EDTs collective impacts on hider-seeker dynamics, at a time where technologies are advancing faster than policy.

This joint FAS-BASIC project addresses this gap in both the research literature and policy discourse through collaboration with an interdisciplinary community of scientific, technical, and OSINT experts, to build a higher-resolution picture of the technological readiness according to the open-source.

This high-impact role offers the opportunity to deliver the research and manage the part of the project that covers sea-based dimensions. The second phase will bring the project’s sea- and land-based dimensions together, and assess the overall strategic implications of these technological advances for nuclear stability.

The Project Manager is expected to have a solid understanding of global security, nuclear nuclear issues, and expertise in EDTs and nuclear weapons issues demonstrated through a record of relevant (policy) research. The successful candidate will have experience with convening and leading high level dialogues  and experience with project delivery. 

The successful candidate will manage and lead the project’s delivery across several outputs, working closely with FAS partners.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

1. Project Delivery

Applicants will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to: 

• Deliver high quality desk-based research. 

• Manage the project’s critical path and risk register, implementing mitigation plans as required.

• Manage project timelines, budgets, and reporting requirements.

• Write high-quality, policy-relevant research reports, op-eds and briefings.

• Organise international roundtables, workshops and other events with track 1 and 2 participants.

• Manage relationships with stakeholders and build BASIC’s network and reputation.

• Independently represent BASIC at international meetings.

2. Fundraising

Applicants will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to:

• Develop a project, by independently and confidently scoping funding opportunities.

• Liaise with the Programme Manager on funding priorities and opportunities.

• Manage projects with minimal day-to-day manager input.

• Develop new and existing relationships with funders.

• Write and edit funding applications.

3. Communications

Applicants will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to:

About the role

Through Salesforce management you will drive our organisational strategy, for the benefit of colleagues, supporters and people affected by Parkinson’s. Abianda is a London-based charity that works with young women and girls affected by criminal exploitation and violence, and the professionals who support them. We exist to ensure young women are no longer hidden in our communities and can live free from harm and abuse. This entry-level role is open to 18-25-year-old young women* who have been affected by criminal exploitation and violence. These experiences could be direct or indirect through relationships or areas and places lived or spent time in. You may also be a young woman who has had experience with statutory systems such as criminal justice, policing, social services or the care system where some of your experiences may be related to what is typically known as ‘criminal exploitation and violence’.

We are recruiting Finance Business Partners to support research teams and collaborate closely with the central finance team. In this role, you will be part of a research centre, working with budget holders and research leads to provide an effective and efficient financial service. Research funding comes from a mixture of grants/contracts from government, foundations, and (to a lesser extent) corporates.

Responsibilities will include producing regular quarterly forecasts and the annual budget, supporting project costing, overseeing financial management of research projects, and providing variance analysis. The Person

Experience in the charity/not-for-profit sector is advantageous, as is knowledge of different funders, philanthropic foundations, government departments, international organisations, businesses, and NGOs (grants and donor reporting). The ideal candidate will be able to present financial information clearly, work with accuracy and consistency, balance multiple deadlines, and have a proactive, self-motivating, and collaborative approach. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels are essential.

About the role

As the HLA Sales Lead, you will lead and manage commercial activity for HLA-Enterprise (HLA-E), driving the growth and diversification of income streams by selling our innovative learning products and services to individuals and organisations in the humanitarian and development sectors.

You will be responsible for acquiring new partners and renewing and expanding existing ones. This involves identifying opportunities, working closely with HLA teams to create awareness of our offer, converting enquiries, upscaling partnerships, and building a strong portfolio of clients for Kaya and other e-learning solutions. You will also play a key role in building partnerships across Save the Children and the wider sector, ensuring the financial sustainability of HLA and supporting its strategic direction.

In this role, you will:  

• Deliver on HLA-E sales strategy to diversify and increase HLA-E income streams, ensuring delivery of agreed targets and business growth
• Ability to ensure clear and timely reporting of the sales performance.
• Support the development of a new go-to-market strategy to grow HLA's commercial revenue from products and services, working to set and achieve agreed income targets for 2025-2027.
