The British Academy - the UK’s national body for the humanities and social sciences - is seeking two full-time Events Producers to join our Communications Department, providing key support in the planning and delivery of the year-round public, academic and public engagement events programmes.

The role

The Events Producer provides a key role in supporting the planning and delivery of the British Academy’s year-round events programmes, which take place in London, across the UK and online. This includes public events (themed seasons, lates, performances, book prize events and festival sponsorships), academic events (lectures, conferences, academic prizes & medals), and public engagement (Summer Showcase, SHAPE Involve and Engage).

The role holder will work closely with other members of the Events Team and the wider Communications Department. You will work directly with the Head of Events and three Events Managers to deliver events at our historic home in London, at partner venues across the UK, and online.

You will be someone who thrives on delivering engaging live events aimed at a variety of audiences – from first-time visitors to our Summer Showcase, to a student attending a Late; an early career researcher watching a lecture, to a leading academic attending a keynote speech at a conference.

You will be someone who is passionate about creating dynamic events which share the latest research and is keen to develop new ways to connect with our target audiences.

You will be joining the Academy at an exciting time in our history as we have recently opened three new event spaces in our building, offering a new programme of activity to our audiences.

We are recruiting two full-time roles. One is a permanent contract, the other is a 12-month fixed-term contract. One role will work primarily on academic events programmes, whilst the other will work primarily on public engagement programmes.

A mission-driven and impact focused single programme NGO is seeking a Finance Business Partner with strong financial modelling skills for a part-time, fully remote fixed term contract for approximately 4-6 months. The role is to support the Finance Director, HR team, CEO and other stakeholders with business partnering, along with specific financial modelling projects.

The organisation’s mission is to get 3-6 year old children in rural Africa to thrive. They have developed an award-winning Early Childhood Development programme, proven its impact through rigorous evaluation, and scaled it with governments in both Ghana and Uganda. It is currently reaching over 300,000 children per year, and we aim to reach 1 million children per year by 2028. The programme benefits both preschool age children and unlocks the potential of marginalised rural parents.

You will work in a busy finance team based in the UK, Ghana and Uganda. The role can be done fully-remotely from within the UK, and the salary range on offer is circa £50,000 - £60,000 FTE (pro-rata). It is anticipated there will be around 2-3 days work per week for approximately 4-6 months.

Experience within a business partnering / modelling role within the NGO sector would be very useful, but is not essential.

Duties include:

• Work focused on adaptions for new contexts: The programme targets rural communities in Ghana and Uganda. This year the organisation plans to scale to a new country and to test ways to adapt it for this new context. They are also keen to explore whether the programme can be adapted for refugee settings.
• Financial modelling focused on selecting a new country to launch the programme
• Specific cost modelling and fundraising modelling around the corporate sponsorship of the organisation’s radio station project

• Develop and strengthen robust and flexible cost models (including sensitivity analyses/stress testing) to guide decisions around the pace and rate of scale, staffing & resource requirements (HR), ensure value for money and maximise cost efficiencies.
• Develop robust budgets for new and renewal funder applications, considering complexities around funder restrictions, currency exchange and forecast economic conditions.
• Analysis and modelling on organisational procedures & policies and capacity building projects

Requirements:

• Fully or part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent
• Demonstrable experience with finance business partnering to a range of stakeholders
• Strong financial modelling skills – ideally in things such as cost analysis, funding analysis etc
• Intermediate/advanced Excel and strong data analysis skills
• An understanding of international charity finance - donor reporting, programmes finance, foreign currency transactions is useful
• Experience juggling multiple projects at once
• Must be able to start the role quickly - ideally immediately available or with a short notice period

We have recently formed a partnership with Bute Energy based at the Twyn Hywel Energy Park in Caerphilly which we will be focusing on bringing people into sustainable employment in this green energy sector and we are looking for someone with experience in working with people who face barriers to employment either as a jobs coach, professional coach or a similar role to help make this partnership a success.
 
Helping to build our team and provision you will work directly with our candidates to understand their career goals, their barriers and support them into rewarding new careers. You will build a network of service providers and employers to create opportunities for our candidates and provide truly holistic service for all candidates.
 
Skills & Experience

• Previous working experience as a Job / professional Coach or similar role for 2 years or more
• Experience in working with people with barriers to employment
• Existing network, or proven ability to network, with a broad range of service providers
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Problem-solving aptitude
• Ability to inspire and motivate

CRM and Customer Data Lead

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated CRM and Customer Data Lead to join the Data Services Team.

Position: SIT54 CRM and Customer Data Lead

Location: Home-based, UK, Nationwide. However, occasional travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Data Services, the CRM and Customer Data Lead will ensure that the charity get the most out of the CRM data so that it can deliver insight driven selections and segmentations for the whole organisation, supporting and collaborating with colleagues to reach and engage with customers in a compliant and customer-centred way.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Oversight and continuous improvement of CRM data.
• Selection analysis and visualisations that support product owners to have a deeper understanding of our customers.
• Lead on increasing the utilisation of selection and marketing automation products such as Apteco Faststats and Peoplestage to automate customer journeys.
• Oversight and continuous improvement of Third party and Internal Data imports and exports with a focus on increasing the knowledge and utilisation of the organisations ETL tools such as Blender to provide business continuity and consistent, clean data quality.

About You

You will have a proven record of:

• Managing, developing and using a CRM database to meet organisation needs.
• Change management projects to support an organisation in better use of data and insight.
• Designing, building and implementing customer segmentation and models.
• Customer and product journeys within a marketing automation environment.
