We’re looking for a kind and compassionate person to join our Family Support team, working directly with families who are facing the unthinkable – the news that their child has cancer or a life-challenging condition.

Primarily based at St George’s, Royal Marsden (transitioning to Evelina, Westminster in 2026), Kingston Hospital and St Peter’s, Chertsey. Travel to other partnered hospitals across London and Surrey as required. Includes at least one monthly meeting at our East Molesey office. 

As our Hospital Family Support Worker, you’ll visit children, young people and their families on the wards of our partnered hospitals. You’ll be a consistent, reassuring presence, offering emotional and practical support when it’s most needed – and helping families feel less alone.

You’ll meet families already known to Momentum, as well as take new referrals. You’ll also support families remotely who live further afield or are adjusting to life after treatment.

This role is about being that calm, empathetic and kind person who makes a difference just by showing up. You’ll be a trusted part of hospital life, and a key link between the families, Momentum, and the wider healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

· Offer emotional and practical support to families, being a warm and reliable presence during their hospital stay.

· Build trusting, non-judgemental relationships with parents, carers, children and young people.

· Meet families in hospital, explain our support services, and complete referral forms for further help.

· Work closely with hospital professionals, attending multi-disciplinary meetings, deliver training on Momentum’s service and sharing relevant updates with the wider Momentum team.

· Keep accurate records of your work, including family interactions and safeguarding concerns.

· Understand and follow all safeguarding, child protection, and lone working policies.

· Report any safeguarding concerns in line with our policies and procedures.

· Support Momentum’s fundraising and communications by sharing family stories (with consent) and identifying case studies.

· Ensure all actions reflect Momentum’s values and vision – that no family with a seriously ill child should have to cope alone.

About the Role

About You

With a relevant qualification in SEND or Youth Work Essential Evidence of ongoing professional development (for example Safeguarding, health & Safety, Management), you will have experience of delivering SEND activities to young people in-line with relevant guidance and good practice.

You will have essential, proven experience of working with young people aged 8 to 19 (up to 25 for those with additional needs) in a range of settings and experience of engaging vulnerable, disengaged or hard to reach young people in activities. We are also looking for someone with experience of managing a staff team, ideally including volunteers and with a strong commitment to safeguarding children.

• Preparing and coaching Spear Foundation sessions and 1-1s, ensuring that young people are engaged, retained and work-ready by the end of this initial phase of the programme.

SDT has the overall responsibility for managing and thanking all supporter donations to CAFOD made through a variety of channels and schemes. SDT works within the Finance and infrastructure group, liaises across all teams in CAFOD, and external service providers to ensure donations are processed within agreed service levels and quality standards. Due to the nature of SDT’s role, SDT has particularly close ties to CAFOD Fundraising activities and actively engages in our fundraising programmes and schemes. 

Accountability 

The post holder reports to the Supporter Donations Manager and will work alongside a team of Supporter Donation Assistants, collectively delivering the team’s key aims and responsibilities. 

Key Responsibilities 

Supporter Care: 

• Handle telephone, email and postal enquiries from supporters; identifying and resolving queries in a prompt, warm and sensitive way. 

• Provide phone cover to the Supporter Care team as required.

About the role

As Philanthropy Manager you will be focusing on managing relationships through a personal portfolio of high-net-worth individuals giving five figure gifts and building a pipeline of support at the £20k-£50k level. It will involve maintaining and uplifting a small portfolio of existing major donor relationships by delivering a programme of excellent donor cultivation and stewardship.

It will involve reaching new audiences through proactively building a pipeline of new major donor opportunities by using new acquisition strategies with a focus on a peer-peer approach and collaborating with other Income Generation teams, senior staff and volunteers to reach and engage with new audiences.

About the team

Shelter’s High Value Partnerships department is crucial to achieving our charitable mission and is responsible for raising £30 million a year through fundraising with high-net-worth individuals, legacy and in-memory supporters, trusts and foundations, companies and statutory funders. The Philanthropy team work with high-net-worth individuals to raise major donor income to help power Shelter’s work.

You will work closely with the Senior Philanthropy Manager to shape and deliver new tactics to expand our network of potential donors. You will be supported by our experienced and energetic fundraising team along with colleagues in frontline services, campaigns and finance.

The role

The responsibility for the Programme Lead is to support the organisation to deliver its strategy and live Scope’s story of change. They will work with goal groups and mission based teams. This will include designing and running workshops to help us develop our strategy and plan our activity to deliver it.

Goal groups play an important role to keep Scope focussed on the impact we want to see. The Programme Lead will manage goal groups and introduce cross-functional planning. Enabling strategy to translated into delivery. The role will develop sessions with the goal groups, ensuring objectives are set and collating insight.

Continuous improvement will be a priority, due to our new ways of working. The Programme Lead will run retrospectives and use feedback to ensure Scope is set up to deliver it’s strategy. They will establish mechanisms for learning and improving. Using findings, they will report and influence key stakeholders. This includes colleagues of all levels across the organisation.

About you

We are looking for someone who can bring out the best in colleagues across Scope. You should enjoy working with others and value collaboration. It’s important that you include diverse voices. You will have the ability to shape activity collaboratively.

We want a strategic thinker with experience leading complex programmes that create social change. You should have strong project or programme management skills. Including the ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver at pace.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Senior Sports Executive. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing a large portfolio of high-value relationships with external running, swimming, cycling, triathlon and obstacle course event organisers. Working with the Product Manager you'll be maximising income from these partnerships, overseeing the recruitment of participants to ensure all places are filled and working with Marketing to optimise participants' supporter journeys. Within this role, you'll also be responsible for looking for business development opportunities that support both the team and Cancer Research UK's goals.

What will I be doing?

• Working with the Product Manager to account manage and develop various high-value relationships with 3rd party event partners across the portfolio ensuring that we hit our income goals by achieving participation targets

• Pitching externally for new or renewal business, including completing applications and/or meeting event organisers in person 

• Building networks with event organisers and key partners within the Sports sector 

• Building knowledge, relationships and stewarding key internal relationships to maximise the value we get out of our partnerships

• Responsible for creating and managing Sports Team web pages and social media pages and producing innovative and bespoke content that is user friendly across all devices and that drives engagement and participation

• Attending on-the-day of events to steward key participants and event partners

• Working with our Event Delivery on key events to plan on-the-day activity and activations

• Taking responsibility for ensuring targets (participation and financial) are fulfilled for your accounts, working with event organisers to improve performance as needed

• Supporting in the delivery of the whole Events Portfolio when required.

What skills are we looking for?

• Significant experience managing relationships with external stakeholders 

• Relevant experience in negotiating contract terms and finalising legal agreements 

• Relevant external account management experience 

• Proactive approach and able to think creatively to exceed targets 

• Understanding and ability to meet financial targets 

• Ability to show strategic thinking 

• Knowledge of digital products used in sports & events and how to integrate them across CRUK platforms 

• A working knowledge of IT systems including purchase order systems, databases, Microsoft office 

• Willing to work some unsociable hours, travelling extensively and staying away from home during the event delivery season when necessary. Time off in-lieu will be offered where applicable.
