In this key role you will own and lead an innovative membership strategy to achieve ambitious population and income targets by accelerating member acquisition, delivering compelling member experiences, driving immediate engagement, creating long-term loyalty and running membership operations.

You will advocate for the importance of membership at Kew working with colleagues across the organisation. You will lead the membership response to our new brand framework and CRM programme to increase engagement and accelerate support of Kew as a charity whilst embedding our proposition of ‘creating a thriving planet, powered by plants and fungi.’

What is the overall purpose of the role?

We are looking to appoint a Support Youth Worker to help develop and deliver an innovative and progressive youth programme for our Girls Project, in a safe industrious and supportive environment working primarily with young girls from diverse communities.

The Girls only group (targeting ages 11-19 years) will promote life skills, well-being and female empowerment. Helping girls move forward through the next stage of their lives to become the women who will shape their community in the future. The Girls group will support, provide advice, mentoring and signposting to additional support services.

Responsibilities:

• Support with the research, planning and delivery of an innovative and progressive programme of youth activities in collaboration with young people and the lead worker.
• Carry out financial and administrative procedures related to the Girls Project.
• Support the promotion of the Girls Project including collating and creating content to be used for online and offline marketing and advertising (hard copy, posters, social media posts etc).
• Record all attendances (registers) for all sessions and populate data required for reporting purposes in a timely manner.
• Coordinate, deliver, host or co-host and oversee the delivery of Girls Project sessions (one-to-ones or groups), trips and residential, that take place on-site and off-site, face to face or online.
• Liaise and supervise with facilitators or external providers directly concerning the delivery of the Girls Project i.e including agreements, risk assessments, SLA’s and Code of Conduct.
• Ensure that children and young people are involved in contributing to the development of the Girls Project via consultations and evaluations.
• Recruit young people through networking and promoting to external organisations and agencies, and beyond.
• Manage referrals to and from the project.
• Assist in recruiting external facilitators required for the delivery of the Girls Project.

Role summary

The London Support Programme (LSP) is a pilot service delivered by the Hardman Trust, providing pre- and post-release support to people on long sentences who are returning to London. This first year of delivery has enabled us to begin offering support, and we are now refining the programme for its next stage.

We are recruiting two part-time, Prison Caseworkers to deliver frontline support, ensuring that people serving long sentences continue to receive consistent, personalised help in preparing for release and rebuilding their lives.

As a Prison Caseworker, you will provide one-to-one, person-centred support focused on wellbeing, confidence-building, and preparation for life after release.
You will support people to set meaningful goals, connect with services, and problem-solve challenges along the way.

The role involves building trusting relationships, promoting the programme across the prison, keeping accurate records, and contributing to the continued development of this pilot into a sustainable, long-term service.

You will be managed and supported by the Head of Service Delivery.

Core responsibilities

• One-to-one support delivery – Provide tailored support to people in prison signed up to the LSP, including initial support planning, goal-setting, problem-solving and referrals to both internal (e.g. Grants, Research Volunteers, Penfriends) and external services.

• Remote support – Provide light-touch support to LSP participants released from prison, during their initial weeks of resettlement, using telephone/video calls, and email to check in, offer guidance, and help address early challenges.

• Service promotion – Actively promote the LSP within pilot and potential partner prisons to increase sign-ups and engagement.

• Administration – Keep accurate, timely records of support activities and outcomes using Salesforce and NOMIS systems.

• Service development – Support the Head of Service Delivery by contributing learning and feedback from frontline delivery, to inform the ongoing refinement of the programme model and resources.

• Collaboration & team contribution - Work closely with colleagues to promote products and services, gather and analyse user feedback, and ensure continuous improvement. Contribute to organisational reporting, monitoring, and evaluation.

Key Tasks

Quality Assurance

· Management of various stakeholder compliance schedules, which have been set up to facilitate timely reporting of required assurance data (including quarterly safeguarding report and bi-annual safeguarding audit).

· Responsible for collating data and writing reports required to for monthly, quarterly and annual quality reporting. This involves liaising with key personnel across several departments to ensure the data is received in good time in order to produce and publish reports to set schedules.

· Responsible for ensuring that various Hospice departments produce and share their required reports for appropriate sharing with stakeholders ahead of attendance at meetings as required.

· Support the Hospice Executive Management Team to respond to information requests in a timely manner and within regulatory bodies timescales.

· Managing audit processes throughout the Hospice to a schedule set at the beginning of each year

· Managing Policy Reviews to a set schedule, ensuring that each Hospice Department reviews existing policies or produces new policies as required.

· Attendance at appropriate meetings such as internal Clinical Governance/Patient Safety Meetings and Contract, Quality and Performance Group Meetings with M&C ICB

· Maintenance of the Hospice Risk Register.

· Assist the incident reporting processes, supporting the investigation of incidents as required.

· Ensuring appropriate incident reporting to external stakeholders in a robust and timely manner.

· Liaise with external colleagues as required to feed into locality data collection, such as Hospice Collaborative and Hospice UK requirements.

· Managing patient and carer feedback processes, including working with the Hospice Patient and Carer Representative.

· Managing the Hospice Clinical Governance/Patient Safety Meeting. Setting up a meeting schedule, setting an agenda for the meeting. Ensuring minutes of the meeting are produced. Preparing a Quality Assurance Report for the meeting for discussion at the meeting.

· Supplying reports as requested for the Hospice Board of Trustee meetings.

· Managing the production of the Hospice annual Quality Account, ensuring that it is produced on time for presentation to stakeholders and then having the final version ready for publication at the end of June.

· Assisting the Controlled Drug Accountable Officer with appropriate reporting.

· Assisting the Registered Manager with appropriate notifications to the Care Quality Commission.

· Managing the collation, processing and maintenance of up-to-date patient data appropriate to facilitate external and internal reporting

Ensuring that the Hospice is familiar with the latest requirements from CQC in terms of evidencing Quality Statements and inspection processes. Assessing how the Hospice meets the Quality Statements and having the assessment of evidence of compliance available. Also ensuring that any gaps in evidence have action plans.

About The Role
We are recruiting for a Talent and Careers Specialist to join on a full-time basis, working 35 hours per week on a fixed term contract currently until the end of March 2026, with the possibility this could be extended (though this isn’t guaranteed).

As Talent and Careers Specialist you will support the Talent & Careers Manager to design, implement and manage the organisation’s apprenticeship and career development offer. This includes developing and managing apprenticeships to address skills gaps and create opportunities for both new and existing employees, while supporting managers to embed meaningful career conversations and progression pathways.

The role involves creating resources and guidance to ensure apprenticeships and career development are focused with diversity and inclusion goals, and best practice. A key aspect of the role is liaising with apprenticeship training providers to source, select and manage high-quality provision, as well as monitoring and administering the apprenticeship levy account to maximise available funding. It also requires partnering with managers and key stakeholders to ensure apprentices and their line managers have a positive experience, whilst monitoring and evaluating the impact of programmes. You will be a specialist, that combines career development planning with practical delivery and good stakeholder engagement.

Interviews for this role have been provisionally scheduled to take place on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th October.

About you
Joining us, you’ll have experience managing apprenticeships and other talent programmes and you’ll have knowledge of development practices, including work experience and internships, with an understanding of how to embed career conversations into organisational strategy.

Crucially, you’ll be able to provide career development advice and guidance to managers to address skill gaps and develop their staff through apprenticeships. This means you’ll have good communication skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, both internally and externally.

What you’ll focus on:

- Contributing to the development of talent development plans, making recommendations that support our people to have a great experience.
- Managing the Apprenticeship programme at the Society for new and existing employees.
- Providing support, guidance and expert advice to a range of teams and directorates across the Society, particularly around utilising apprenticeships to address skills gaps.
- Supporting with the creation and implementation of policies, processes and guidance on Apprenticeships and other employment initiatives as appropriate.
- Supporting with the planning and management of talent development programmes such as internships and sandwich placements.
- Ensuring equality, diversity and inclusion goals are at the forefront in any planning, delivery and review of activities.
- Sourcing, selecting, and managing training providers to deliver apprenticeship programmes that meet the needs of the different directorates.

Details:

Salary: £40,373 per annum.

Location: Our office is a short walk from King’s Cross station in London. For this role, we need someone to come into the office at least one day a week, on a Tuesday. A day where all of Income Generation come into the office. Otherwise we are proud to promote a truly hybrid work culture. You can work remotely for the rest of the time. Equally, you may prefer to work from the office full-time. There will also be an expectation for the successful candidate to be available for in-person sales meetings in London and across the UK, when needed.

Contractually this role is London based.
