Job description

Specialist Registration Coordinator
£29,645 to £32,553 pa, plus excellent benefits
London (including flexible working)

The College is seeking to expand our support for psychiatrists as they progress through their career and are recommended onto the General Medical Council’s Specialist Register.  This role is an exciting opportunity to develop the College’s strategy to particularly support those psychiatrists seeking to enter the Register through equivalent routes, but also those who work and train with the UK NHS system.

The successful applicant will be the key point of contact for staff, members and external partners, representing the College at key stakeholder meetings and events on this important regulatory responsibility.  They will be great communicator, with excellent presentation, administrative and relationship management skills, able to devise and implement innovative solutions and improvements to existing systems and ensure an excellent level of customer service for our membership.

Working collaboratively and flexibly within a busy, dedicated, and enthusiastic team, you will engage with psychiatrists at all stages of their careers from medical student until retirement.

The College values a diverse workforce and welcomes applications from all sections of the community, reflecting the population it serves.

We are committed to building and maintaining an inclusive and supportive culture, a place where we can all be ourselves and succeed on merit. We aim to promote a more inclusive environment, which attracts all candidates and signals our commitment to celebrate and promote diversity.

We will provide appropriate reasonable adjustments for candidates who may have a disability.

We only recruit the best and in return for your commitment the College offers an attractive salary and benefits.

We operate a hybrid working model of onsite and working from home/remote, which helps to ensure a flexible work life balance.

The Royal College of Psychiatrists is the professional membership body for psychiatrists and promotes excellent care for people with mental illness. It has 19,000 members and engages with government and the media as the leading voice of the UK’s mental health services. The College is a values-based organisation and, in 2019, was named Charity of the Year in the European Diversity Awards.

Closing date: 10am, 23 September 2024.
Interviews: 7 October 2024.
